Hi Rick, perhaps if you looked at this situation from a different angle besides me, me, me. try thinking or imagining about all the things you could do to improve the quality of life for all the others who are less fortunate, what would an RV allow me to do for my family, friends, the community I live in. maybe I could start a community program that puts a smile on a 'hospitalized' childs face, maybe I could provide funding for a 'soup kitchen' to feed the homeless, perhaps I could provide a scholorship fund for underprivilaged kids who although acedemically qualified will never see the inside of a college classroom, maybe I could fund a program to help shut ins or the Eldery who are alone. You see my little Brother this is and will never be about you or me, its about all of us, much more than all the Good Folks on this site but the whole World. these are not the best of times anymore, the downtrodden outnumber the blessed and its time we all reached out and brought them back into the fold. we must show the compassionate spirit that God installs in every one of us... our Souls. Ron, 1st you need to get the cup back to 'half full' instead of 'half empty' Bro. 2nd remember than these guys have been wishy-washy with eachother from minute to minute for who knows how long and thats never going to stop, not even long after they seat a government. It is a month long (1 lunar cycle) to repent for sins by the sacrifice of fasting. Yes activities are reduced, comparable to a weekend in the city here as apposed to a weekday. The GOI can and will continue to make progress, allbeait at the 'snails pace' we've come to despise but they do not shut off the lights and go bury their heads in the sand for a month. If this event was a drop in the bucket then it would happen 10 times a day, everyday and nobody would even notice. We have all experienced the 'pumper effect' here, maybe we are suffering thru the 'mis-information effect' when registering here at DV there is no requirement to 'prove' your investment or personal agenda so literally 'anyone' can be a member. Heck anyone of us can claim they have an apartment overlooking the CBI and spew all kinds of garbage here. my point is simple... don't get too close to the 'subject view' you see much more when you step back and see the 'big picture' because just like a giant puzzle with thousands of pieces, it takes a good while and considerable effort to put it all together. If anyone here on DV is struggling thru this emotional rollercoaster I suggest a change of thought... think of the less fortunate, 'the innocent' as I like to think of them: Kids with deadly or incurable deseases, battered Women, animal extinction caused by man, abandoned animals, just to name a few. Think about what we could do to help any and all who desperately need help everyday, year after year. Think about what you could/would do if you were a millionaire and could provide a thirsty person a desperate drink of water, a starving child a sandwich, a dying child 1 last wish, an innocent animal a 'stay of execution', a homelees person on the street a 'happy meal' you see everyone, its the 'big picture' that matters most, not what each one of us wants for ourselves that God rewards, Its what each one of us wants for the improvement of 'the Innocents' If everyone here woke up each morning and thought to themselves... what can I do to put a smile on the Lords face today our World would surely be Utopic!!! Actually Sistani is one of the rare Cleric thats an advocate of the seperation of church and state even though he is Sh'ia. He's just getting fed up with the BS and delay tactics just like us and the Iraqi people. This Guy carries way more weight than foul mouth Joe or anyone the US could send to put pressure and can make the difference whether they meet the deadline on the 14th to announce the Speaker, Pres and PM. Well it doesn't quite work that way guys... 1st there will always be an abundant 'poor class' in Iraq and the rest of the Middle East. As far as $40k per month, that ain't gonna happen no matter what. Essentially the people making 25k IQD now will be making 25 IQD, roughly the same value as before but the RV will lose the 000's on labor cost. the HCL is supposed to increase the 'quality of life' as each Iraqi is supposed to get a subsidy from the oil, it will be nice if the HCL is fairly distributed to ALL IRAQI but that most likely won't go the way the law was intended. the only real hope for the common Iraqi is jobs from companies as they expand into Iraq and start the various projects set to go. no way they'll ever RV if every single Iraqi citizen ends up rich overnight, can you imagine a janitor, a grocery checker or a counter person at Burger King making the equivalant of $25,000 a month $300,000 a year. the poorest person in the country would make more annual salary than the leader of the Free World.... nope, no way, ain't gonna happen, sorry. when your living on the equivalent of $33 USD per month now how much IQD can you stash and build up for the big RV... depends on if you want to eat, or keep a roof over your head. Only the upper elite will see results like we'll see, the poor class is and will remain poor.
