NO BUT - THIS LAW NEEDS TO CONTAIN AN AMENDMENT ALLOWING SUNNI'S THE ABILITY TO POLICE THEIR OWN REGIONS AND IF WE DON'T HAVE UNITY...IMO, THERE'S NOT GOING TO BE A GREAT DEAL OF POLITICAL (NOR SECTARIAN) SECURITY AND IF THERE'S NO POLITICAL (OR SECTARIAN UNITY - AT LEAST A BETTER SHOW OF IT) SECURITY, THERE'S UNLIKELY TO BE MONETARY SECURITY.

Sunni blocs decided to attend Tuesday's session

I recall in the video of Abadi's speech last week,  He really stressed the need for the national guard as if it was extremely key to getting them on the financial track that they needed to be on.  So evidently its VERY important.  It was in English and I heard it with my own ears.  So there was no misunderstanding or mistranslation.

Not sure at what point in the 30 minute speech it occurred but its there.

YES, DEB, HE'S BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS LAW SINCE HE WAS ELECTED AS PM.  THE PRIMARY ISSUE WITH THIS LAW IS THAT THE SUNNI'S WANT MORE CONTROL THAN WHAT THE CURRENT LEGISLATION ALLOWS - THEY DON'T WANT ANYMORE SHIA DOMINANCE VIA THE MILITARY (UNITS) IN THEIR REGIONS.  I BELIEVE THEY'RE AMENDING THIS NOW TO BETTER SUIT SUNNI DEMANDS AND THIS IS PERHAPS ONE REASON WHY THEY'RE SAID TO BE RETURNING TO PARLIAMENT. WE'LL SEE.  LAST YEAR IT WAS THE KURDS USUALLY BOYCOTTING SESSIONS, NOW IT'S MOSTLY THE SUNNI'S....OY.
