Sorry my reply comment is off the original topic - I have a post to do for that but having a real depressing unsuccessful attempt on getting there -

snooz -- I want the video to show up here like everyone elses -- not just the link - I can copy and paste a link here but I want more than that - I am on the verge of tears dang it because I cannot figure out why -

THE PICTURES THAT i HAVE ADDED HAVE BEEN COPY PASTE OR DRAG OVER - SOME HAVE BEEN BY ATTACHMENT BUT DO NOT LIKE HOW THEY SHOW UP SMALL NOT SATISFACTORY AT ALL --

THE DARN VIDEO IS REALLY GETTING UNDER MY SKIN AND RUFFLING MY FEATHERS AND ALMOST BRINGING TEARS --

I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong or not doing right - here are the methods i have used -

i go to you tube - copy & paste from the browser - click on the icon on DV draft area - paste the link in the little space and click upload video - and the link shows up between the two words media - go to preview and it is still a link

I have used the share link from you tube and still same results - I have deleted the http from the DV link space before pasting link - this does not work either

Last I copied the embedded link and pasted after deleting the http thingy in the little box - that time a black screen showed up but nothing but the link on the preview

I hope you can figure out what my dense head is missing - I have been pretty stressed lately so it could be just some small techy thing I am overlooking thanks - I have a post I want to do but want the video to show up in the post - thanks snooz for your help - a couple others have sent me the instructions and I think I am following but not getting the results - it is so frustrating

The link is good and working properly even embed, but not here !!?? I tried it on my hunting forum and its good !!

I have listened to and watched this video I know over 100 times - it is so moving for me - I see and feel the emotion of the artist - and it is just a moving - tear bringing experience <3 <3 <3 <3

Always try to bring the video to this site when it is possible and give a link back to the page you got the video from.

The secret that we have found is that when you are trying to share a video with us you might have to do a little extra work as the short links provided when you hit the share button in youtube usually will not work on DV. I will sometimes chase down the same video on a few sites until someone shares the LONG LINK to that video.

The LONG LINK will work when you use the "Insert Media" button. Usually when you find someone willing to share the video you will need to look for the options button and hit the long link button and then do a copy and paste!!

p.s. Youtube is very unfriendly when it comes to sharing videos these days so you might have to go to off sites to find the video with a long link!!!! See my links below next to videos to see what I am talking about

Your welcome!! Youtube uses short links that usually will not work when pasting them to DV so sometimes you will need to go to an off site from youtube and get the LONG link so that it will work with DV!

Just click on the options pull down and look for the long link button!! This long link works on DV for posting videos in the forums!!

This is the same video that I was able to get the long link from. Youtube most of the time only uses the short link and that is why you need to search for the long link to the same video!!

Hope this helps and not confuses you all more!!

Good morning all I thank you all for helping UNEEK on this endeavor to post a video. I think what the problem is (at least from my experience) you have to be logged in as a youtube user to get the correct URL. Whenever your browser URL on youtube has the words embedded on it it will not work I will post the link she used and the correct one under it so you can see the difference.

Youtube use to have a "Long Link" option that you could check on and that link would work, but for some reason when I go there that option is no longer available to me. BUT, if you look at the link in your address bar and compare it to the "share" link they show underneath the video you will see the "share" link is shorter. I just tried using the link in the address bar, instead of the "short" link, and that worked with the "insert media" .
