How I yearn for a Godly leader for our country. Ronald Reagan spoke so eloquently of our God.

Never in my world have I seen so much division and a void for God. This has to change for the betterment of our children children's.

The answers are in the Book... we just need to read and believe.

We are not a christian nation, we never were founded a christian nation, the highest law of the land the US Constitution does not mention god at all. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ...." and Article VI specifies that "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." and when Jefferson was asked about it by the Danbury baptists said quite clearly that there is a wall separating church and state.

In the Treaty of Tripoli, which was started unde George Washington, finished by John Adams and ratified by the whole senate:

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity,

I will not deny that many of our founding fathers were religious men, but we also has deists. but they did not want to repeat what was happening in England where there was an official religion and if you did not abide by it you could be

Separation of church and state is a two-way street. It isn’t just about restricting what the government can do with religion, but also what religious bodies can do with the government. Religious groups cannot dictate to or control the government. They cannot cause the government to adopt their particular doctrines as policy for everyone, they cannot cause the government to restrict other groups, etc.

The biggest threat to religious freedom is not the government — or at least, not the government acting alone. We very rarely have a situation where secular government officials act to repress any particular religion or religion in general. More common are private religious organizations acting through the government by having their own doctrines and beliefs codified into law or policy.

Thus, the separation of church and state ensures that private citizens, when acting in the role of some government official, cannot have any aspect of their private religious beliefs imposed upon others. School teachers cannot promote their religion to other people’s children. Local officials cannot require certain religious beliefs on the part of government employees. Government leaders cannot make members of other religions feel like they are unwanted or are second-class citizens by using their position to promote particular religious beliefs.prosecuted.

The walk of Christ in the flesh was characterized by his forgiving and accepting nature. The whole founding of The United States Of America also embraces these principals.

Our founding based in His principals is all-inclusive and never exclusive.

Allowing all religions to participate in this country is accredited to Christ not to humanism.

We must never loose site of the one who freely expunged our ruthlessness.

Christ is the one who makes possible the nation of free people who can live in harmony with one another.

Without Christ we would stone to death those who have sins.

Who among us has no sins?

It is an argument that is made often today: America is not, nor ever has been a Christian nation. In fact, I believe Mr. Obama uttered those very words when he first took office and was prostrating himself before the Islamic countries of the Middle East. His claim was that America, even its founding, was (and is) a secular society. The trouble with this view, however, is that it is nothing more than revisionist history. Unfortunately, we see this destructive practice in just about every sphere of Academia today, even in Bible Colleges.

I'm sure most of us can remember the phrase often uttered in schools all over the country (at least it was when I was in school): "those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it." As I look around our great nation and see government on all levels (Federal, State, and local) getting larger and more powerful; as I see members of said governments joining the wealthiest of American citizens DURING their tenure in office; as the rights and freedoms of the individual citizen diminishes almost on a daily basis in favor of a government first rather than an individual first society; I think, doesn't anyone remember that phrase anymore? We are becoming more like the continent our Founders fled with just about every piece of legislation passed today, it seems.

And what about that phrase (those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it), has it completely fallen on deaf ears? No, I believe the truth is something far more sinister. The truth is, the true history of this country hasn't been taught for many decades in our schools. And what we are seeing today in our society, as a result of the influences of people like John Dewey and his ilk, is a society without a bearing, a society without a compass. A society that has forgotten, and is repeating, the same mistakes our Founders fled from.

1. Something strange: if America was not a Christian nation than please explain why the Bible and the New England Primer were the 2 main textbooks used, in the PUBLIC EDUCATION system, for at least the first 100 years of this country.

The New England Primer was the first reading primer designed for the American Colonies. It became the most successful educational textbook published in 18th century America and it became the foundation of most schooling before the 1790s.

The New England Primer was first published between 1687 and 1690 by English printer Benjamin Harris, who had come to Boston Massachusetts in 1686 to escape the brief Catholic ascendancy under James II. Based largely upon The Protestant Tutor, which he had published in England, The New-England Primer was the first reading primer designed for the American Colonies.

The primer remained in print well into the 19th century and was even used until the 20th century. A reported 2 million copies were sold in the 18th century. No copies of editions before 1727 are known to survive; earlier editions are known only from publishers' and booksellers' advertisements.

Many of its selections were drawn from the King James Bible and others were original. It embodied the dominant Puritan attitude and worldview of the day. Among the topics discussed are respect to parental figures, sin, and salvation. Some versions contained the Westminster Shorter Catechism; others contained John Cotton's shorter catechism, known as Milk for Babes; and some contained both.

For a secular society it seems very curious to me that this would be the main reading primer, for at least the first 150 years of this country, used by the PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM.

Here are a few "fun facts" from the supposed deist (the definition of a deist in Franklin's day is far different then how we define it today):

- In Benjamin Franklin's 1749 plan of education for public schools in Pennsylvania, he insisted that schools teach "the excellency of the Christian religion above all others, ancient or modern."

- In 1787 when Franklin helped found Benjamin Franklin University, it was dedicated as "a nursery of religion and learning, built on Christ, the Cornerstone."

Here's a bonus quote from Noah Webster who heavily influenced early education in America, in fact we still use his dictionary today:

“In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed...No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.”

2. I've heard it heard it repeated many times these days that our governmental system was based on the Grecian model. As a "hobby historian" myself I will not deny that the Grecian, and the Roman, governmental practices had meaningful influences in the forming of our own government. That cannot be denied.

But here's something that is not widely taught today, and clearly had a major influence in the formation of our governmental structure. Our three branch system, Executive, Legislative, and Judicial, is based off of a passage in Scripture:

At the Constitutional Convention of 1787, James Madison proposed the plan to divide the central government into three branches. He discovered this model of government from the Perfect Governor, as he read Isaiah 33:22;

“For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver,

the LORD is our king;

He will save us.”

This is stunning considering we are a secular society.

Something else that secularists may find bothersome is a stroll around Washington DC. The truth is, our capital is laden with Biblical references and outright Scripture quotations just about everywhere you look. It is quite an inspiring tour, actually.

For the sake of brevity I am going to end this post now. But I will end it with this excerpt taken from a letter written by John Adams to his wife Abigail:
