I still have the question.. even if the RV was only $0.01/IQD. Under current conditions someone would have to put up $10,000 for every 1M IQD until it was repatriated to Iraq.. Who could fund that risk and what would the fee be?

THIS is a project to watch , they expect to finalize a deal before the end of this year! The Kuwaiti's have in the past followed the Saudi's example of employing western expertise to manage large economic ventures... Not like the Iraqi who have until now been trying to do all internally and we have seen how that goes on and on..

It MAY decide to change the currency upon notice announcing the date , place AND duration of the exchange...The 10 yr statement was a interpretation error. 1 to 2 years is reasonable .. If you had a street business in Iraq , HOW LONG would you want to advertise 2 prices and maintain 2 cash drawers? The CBI will do what is best for Iraqi commerce... It could callin ALL dinar in 30 days if that was in Iraqs best interest. 3. The UST has NO liability to support any amount of dinar. 4. Unirod:: What is the reason that CBI is not concerned with the dinar outside of the country? All dinar must be repatriated or allowed to expire! There is a dark side to the estimate that only 1.5T are in circulation.That could be only .5M notes of all sizes. They could exchange those in a year then call in all old dinar on short notice not the 2 year timeline...That was based on the 30T number, realistically difficult to accomplish even with 2 printers. Just another dot to connect.

WOW waggg :::that's a lot to work on ..But I will workwith 2. CBI reserves are NOT GOI reserves ! We do not know if GOI has any reserves... next GOi has debt about $500M at my last estimate ,.. They are found in US$ we dont know what if any restrictions are !? But if tied to the PEG it will nedd a lot of USD to settle... It would mean that the GOI has found a way to stash $100 Bn or more and noone knows about it????

RicknSaudi::: What they call the 2011 BUDGET here is really the 2011 ANNUAL Report! What they actually spent in 2011.. It is the usual cycle , Estimate income , divide it up then spent it .Then report what was actually taken in and where it went.

Sometimes they are reporting actual US$ amounts and sometimes they mean IQD in equivalent $ amounts...And from the translation it is dificult to determine which. Also note that in 2011 our troops were still there and they were getting a lot of free services from military and state dept...2012 is a larger budget and larger shortfall....1.5T IQD in M2 must be way too low...AND NO the daily auctions PUT dinar back into the economy.

Overreaction:::Waukeshaw operation is not being closed!! GE is only moving the Management of Xray diagnostics division to China to start up the far east market. GE itself may be managed to not pay taxes BUT it employs a lot of people who are able to pay taxes..Even if it moves these people to china they will in the end pay US taxes....
