When we RV, I will be able to retire from the State college and then I will be eligible for a state based pre-Medicare plan. I pray Trump eliminates the penalty. Come on RV!

This issue hits the middle class. I lost my health care last year when my husband retired. I can't afford healthcare as a part time faculty. My salary dropped by 90% when my job in corporate went away. I know several middle class people that had their plans dropped and can't find afford replacement plans. The poor are subsized, the rich buy what they want and the middle class are hosed. While researching plans, the only plans I can find cost 100% of my meager salary. That's not affordable care. Part of why the election turned out the way it did was due to most of the middle class healthcare premiums increased astronomically this fall. I hope America can find a reasonable alternative to ACA.

As a former HR person, I know that a lot of corporations don't like older workers because it keeps the health premiums high. They look for opportunities to let older workers go, despite ADEA laws. I know, I was one of them. I watched my team let go as they got 50+. Lockheed Martin faced a class action lawsuit over this issue in the 80s. If an employer can fire for cause it saves them a legal nightmare. Just adding another voice to the mix. Soon we will be free of the corporate nightmare.

My family just finished making homemade cheese ravioli, a family Christmas Eve. tradition for 3 generations. I love the way the sauce smells as it is cooking. Boun Natale everyone.
