Not being negative here, but I lived in Turkey when this happened. At no time when they dropped the zeros was my 1,000,000 (1 million turkish lira worth 1 million usd as some are expecting iraq to do with the large 25K notes to equal 25,000 usd. My 1 million turkish lira became 1 turkish lira, worth the same on the exchange rate,,less than 1 usd! Both currencies was in use until the larger notes were withdrawn. I am not a lopster and hope they do not do the same like Turkey did with this. There was no confusion at the shops concerning the exchange rate either,,just drop the zeros and buy what you want. If you wanted 1 item that cost 1 Turkish lira then you could buy with the 1 Turkish lira note or buy with the 1,000,000 (1 Million) note. This is what worries me when they keep comparing this to turkey.

If they would keep that one word out of the equation,,(TURKEY),, then peoples minds would be at ease. But they keep referring to this one. Lets hope its all smoke and mirrors.

This is what I think they are referring to in all the news articles. What worries me about some of them is they keep using Turkey as an example of how this will change. In which there was no RV and the higher notes were just pulled from use after a time period. Turkey had really high inflation so maybe Iraq is different and we will make some money from this. Still hoping.

Just wonder was this info put out the same as the Donald Trump story? I feel this will make some money also,,but some of these stories are turning into tall tales that can never be verified.

To those of you who are nit-pickers about the meaning of words: there is a medical distinction between Guts and Balls. We've all heard about people having Guts or having Balls, but do you really know the difference between them? I hope this clears up any confusion on the definitions. Medically speaking,there is no difference in the outcome. Both will probably result in death.

Simple for them if they have the lower notes. Take Turkey for example when they loped or R/D. One EFFES beer cost 1,000,000 Turkish Lira with the old money or 1 Turkish lira with the new money. Both notes could be used until the old Turkish Lira was removed from circulation. No price changes just drop the zeros from the old notes. I really hope that is not what is going to happen here with the dinar. Worst case is they do this then slowly increase the value so we will still make 3 times on our investment. Just my opinion .

I agree with your post as I was living in Turkey during this time. There was no money to be made on this. I did make a little money by having a Turkish Lira/USD account by exchanging money between the 2 as it benefited since rates changed dramatically from month to month. But that was years ago, seems things are stable there now since the currency change. Lets hope that Iraq is not trying to do the same thing as we will see little gain by them doing it this way.

I really hope this slang word LOP or re domination as they call, it is not true. But many news articles put out and also refering to the turkish lira is exactly what happened. there. What you have now after removing the zeros is the same value as before as what is coming out in the Iraqi press. How many times do they have to say this? If they did not reference this to Turkish Lira so many times then it would have better hope for us. How much news do we have coming from the GOI except for saying this,,I have read none. Lots of gurus and such,,but none on the government side of things stating anything other. Lets hope this is wrong.

Just wondering how this law slipped through and got passed without anyone seeing it until now? Puts a big question mark on what will happen if it does RV and the US Governments control over it. What else are they hiding? I for one bought all my Dinar abroad and have receipts for it which totals quite a bit and have never entered the USA with this money. Have no problem paying the 15% tax on this income. But if they keep pulling these silly games then other options are available and will be used accordingly. Hope you are correct. But if it does not happen what will you say to all the people that went out and bought more when they probably should have paid there bills as they were barely getting by before and did this based on what you stated? Hope you can live with this.

I got caught up in these PTR lies a few weeks back about cashing in in Dubai wonder if we can contact the ones that pay the bills there,,advertisers etc, Bet with a group effort we could shut them down due to the lies and deceit they promote.

I was down in Van turkey just about 5 years ago. A few Iraqis there since its near the border. They had nothing good to say about the USA invasion or occupation,,saying we were never asked by the Iraqi people to do this. I was in the Military doing the Gulf war, the Saudis wanted to pay us from what I was told from preventing Saddam from crossing over into KSA. USA came back and said we are not paid mercenaries and declined the offer. Instead we were all given the Kuwait Liberation medal which is quite impressive from the Saudis. The award and medal we received from the Kuwait government looked really cheap and not worth displaying. I am sure some Desert /Shield/Storm vets here can confirm this. Good luck with this congressman seeking this,,but its all smoke and mirrors.

The right to carry law is in effect,,classes are overbooked. I see gun laws getting looser not tighter,, here in the South. Our crime rate is dropping also, hopefully due to this. I work in the Middle East,,crime is low there,,we all know why. On days off in the USA crime is down now also,,think its the right to carry laws,,they work.
