Well I didn't know about the Annual Arab League meeting on the 16th in Baghdad, did you? I didn't know that Scooter would be working on valuation models this weekend. That will be something to look forward to. And then we see that Scooter is excited about the potential valuations that he sees. Finally he says 85% of what we see in the news is garbage. IMO this was well worth posting and reading.

Let me preface by saying I intend no disrespect to anyone who posts rumors and my comments are not directed toward any particular post. In fact, I disclaim any liaibility whatsoever for the content or effect of the present post, and I fully intend to deny having made this post an hour from now. I just generally view rumors like this: Look at all the bogus and explicitly contradictory news articles spewing from the Iraqi controlled news agencies. Maliki is in, he's out, Allawi apologizes, Maliki apologizes, Benito Del Toro is the new PM, etc. etc. It is very pointed and deliberate and premediated and calculated disinformation. Well, if the GOI is going to such lengths to confuse their worldwide audience as to fabricate phony news stories, SERIOUSLY, how much harder would it be for them to generate bogus rumors. Not to say rumors are bogus across the board, by any stretch. But posit this: if you really wanted to do a job on dinar investors with collective juice, like say, DRVets, what's to stop you from registering, getting a profile and salting this board with all sorts of made up stuff dressed up as a rumor heard from some high up outside source? I guess my bottom line point is that we should all keep firmly in mind that rumors can be a highly effective mode of propaganda having nothing whatsoever to do with the truth or falsity of their subject matter. Let me make sure that I have this right. You joined this site about 90 minutes ago so that you could let everyone know that you have a high level secret source. I have no clue why you posted this way or in this forum ... but one thing is for sure ... things are lining up ... gurus and info hounds have virtually converged on relatively the same time frame (from now to within the next 60 days ... which is a huge departure from the previous) and most even agree on a RI/RV between certain limits (somewhere between $2.30 and $3.22 and most are touting $3+ as the rate ... this is a huge departure from $.10 to $3.86) that while not identical represent a HUGE CONVERGENCE. Most on this site have blasted the gurus for naming a date ... folks ... in hindsight, looking back to April 15 of this year ... even those in the know (countries who were promised times and rates apparently) have been pushed off and they got irate. Various countries, the Queen ... the Pope ... got in on the public pressuring ... come on. The Gurus (no not all of them) must have had it right because from the world's reaction ... it was already supposed to happen. IMO April 15 was the day with June 14 as the safety net date just in case April 15 didn't happen with June 15 as the UNSC announcement date. IMO July 26 was an absolute ... a stare down if you will. I think that Iraq failing to file the report due on the 1st of June was a sign of their arrogance and that the UNSC was toothless ... this was further shown at the Aug 4th meeting where they demanded the lifting of Chapt 7 TWICE ... it was explained to them nicely the first time and diplomatically how to stick it where the sun doesn't shine the second and that they would be filing reports when they were due! I hear people talking about the plan and that all of this is part of the plan. I disagree at least partially. Can all of this delay be a ploy for the CBI to gather more "000" IQD unto itself ... maybe. It's more likely that these folks who couldn't organize a bake sale and are more stubborn than a camel are arguing for position(s) for themselves and family, monetary gain whether via graft or positioning, or sectarian hatred (that they often refer to as honor ... I could spend all day addressing that one ... I digress). I have no idea whether the govt is actually formed and they are acting in secret or any other such thing ... what I do believe is this: 1) it was supposed to happen sometime in the last four months ... as evidenced by the fact that they went on a spending spree signing contract after contract for "stuff" ... refineries($2B) ... sure ... a subway under Baghdad ($3B)? ... give me a break ... and on and on ... 2) we are in the final moves by the Iraqis ... read that as they are virtually cornered ... US $upport is waning, US troop involvement is declining, contracts must be paid, virtually all G-20 countries are pressuring. The ISX is set to kickoff Oct 17 and requires a viable world tradeable currency (although apparently this date can be pushed ... however, it will not attract investors but rather dissuade them which is in direct opposition to the Iraqi plan to become the jewel of the Med that they so desparately want to be). There is so much more to draw conclusions from but I have run out of time ... CONVERGENCE ... that's the word for the day ... lol Gurus and countries alike are converging on a date with a rate ... My Building Permit: I recently applied for a building permit for a new house. It was going to be 100 ft tall and 400 ft wide with 9 turrets at various heights and windows all over the place and a loud outside entertainment sound system. All, I know all are waiting on pins and needles hoping to get an update about this investment of ours. Here’s what I’m aware of currently, and how I’m feeling right now: - Firstly, I wish to share that I have NEVER been more optimistic about this investment. I believe we will see a change BY the end of October. My short time-line is BY the end of the month (August). My long time-line remains BY the end of October. - I am disappointed we haven’t seen any changes yet this week. Most of the information, which I perceived to be good, and based on being hit with information from several different angles (white house, military, governmental agencies, and so on), shared we’d see something by Wednesday or Thursday (tomorrow). Some stated we’d see this by the end of the month, and were less willing to tie down a day to this. - I am concerned this bout of information from very disconnected sources (not all tied to the internet) may have been changed again. What I mean by this is that it has come back to me that within Iraq they are facing major security issues. As such, things require change and adjustment. It may be the very reason for the adjustment of Obama’s speech from August 29th to September 1st. (this is purely speculation on my part FYI regarding Obama’s speech). Regardless, that’s what I’m hearing, and as such I am still hopeful of the “short time-line window” I’ve shared that we’d see a change by the end of this month, as has been shared with me, and may be why we haven’t hearing anything yet on what I was told. This security situation is what has me concerned about this “end-of-the-month” time-line. Changes in this investment, despite WHO I’m hearing information from, seem to be the norm, and I’m very discouraged (short-term) to be honest. - I don’t have the same level of belief this will happen by the end of the month as I did this past weekend or even last night, and if it doesn’t, I’ll take my lumps and move on, not discussing something like this again, only watching, observing, collaborating, referencing, and sharing others’ information. Should this be the case, I’ll apologize once, and move on. I would hope that each of you would hold yourselves professionally, and move on as well… should that happen. - I have NOT received any NEW information today that tells me this WON’T happen by the end of the month, just so you know. It’s just my own fears and worries based on years of following this nightmarish, change-riddled investment. Anyway, that’s where I’m at… optimistic overall, very concerned short-term, hopeful by the end of October. They report this to us 9 days later on the 26th. That’s odd Bob……..why would the CBI pay more for dinars that they already possess at a lower rate? That’s right Frank……why?! Now let’s do the basic math by adding the original par value of 100 billion dinars to the purchase bid value rate that they show of 207 billion dinars for today and that comes to a total of 307 billion dinars that were moved. When you multiply the actual bid value of 307 by 1.07 (a 7% discount that banks factor in) or take 307 and divide it by .93 we get a base rate between 328/330. That’s very close to the RI of 3.22. Now I know if you decide to share this information many will ask you to prove your math to them. You will have to explain about the bank discounts or the % used of .93. Either way ……..anyone can go to the CBI auction today and find these activities. It’s kind of hard to navigate through the CBI website especially since these numbers have snuck up on us and are not found on the daily auction page. This article is from 2005 when Maliki first took office. You people are something else. Anyone can go to the archives and find articles that support anything and everthing. Just change the dates, remove any info not pertinent to the situation, and you have an article like this one. This is why it is in the "RUMOR SECTION". It will RV, that I am sure of. Ditto ... do you (h20) have a Forex account? ... buying at $1-$2 means that the 25,000 IQD note is now worth $25,000-$50,000 ... if you have that kind of cash why not spend some now? Providing that the spread isn't ridiculous on the Forex you are still looking at 200 to 400 leverage but you will still have to pony up a bundle of cash to control something that is easily purchased now for peanuts!
