  11. How I understand it. It was to secure oil and power for the USA for years to come. The USA can buy oil from Iraq for $43 a barrel for the next 100 yrs. ( an exageration of time dont know the time frame for sure.) Not only that but in that deal they can resell it to other countries at the market price and make rediculous profit while holding control over a part of the oil.
