Zelda
Thxs, will add to the list. I always though a dogs name was easy, its not...Thxs !!! pp When I got my one dog, it took me a week to name him. I looked and looked and would say names out loud to hear if they would fit him. It popped into my head one day while I was driving. I named him Cairo but with a K. My Kairo lived to be almost 14, which was quite good for a big dog but never enough time. Anyhow, congratulations and I love dogs, they add such joy. I have two myself:)

Alexyn1006
I lived in Australia for a while. They have lots of what they call cattle dogs there. I love Border Collie's they're my fav. Anyway, when I lived there, I met a few "Corrie's" (or you could spell it Cory). It has a tomboy ring, yet feminine. Hales from the name, Corinne, which means maiden. Just a thought.

sheltiemom
Traditionally, Border Collies have one syllable names like "Fly" or "Rex" or "Blaze" Here's a couple lists http://www.gis.net/~shepdog/BC_Museum/Permanent/BCNames/BC_Names.html http://www.colliedogowners.com/collie-names-boys/ I know of a dog named "Shazam". When I first heard the name I went into hysterical laughter thinking of the owner yelling out the door "Shazam!" (Think Captain Marvel cartoon from DC comics) Personally, I've been saying that my next dog I'm going to name "Peeve".....so I can introduce him as my Pet Peeve.

design interrupted
I agree with using the atlas. Example - For a Norwegian Elkhound go with Oslo. For a Border Collie - which I believe is Australian, not sure, try Sydney or any other name you pick off the globe!
