TPSprayduster
Now the $100 question is will maliki go along with the consensus of the 3 groups. He presented who he wanted and everyone else showed him the middle finger. If he does not agree the security situation will only get worse. Plus the 100 days are up and either he has to put up or go home.

Tropics
That is not what the article said and they have not voted. They are still searching for a defense minister. 1
aferriss
Sounds like the nominee for Defense Minister is a good choice and seemingly everyone is happy...now hopefully Maliki will go along with it and stop being a big dork and thorn in everyone's side. Rabbi
The Iraqiya List is Allawi's party, and the Kurdish Alliance is...well.. the Kurdish Alliance. Is the "State of Law" the same thing as Maliki's National Alliance. If so, we now have a Minister of Defense in Salem Dalli. And you know what, the "guru" Steve1 (or is it SteveI?) from DD mentioned this guy's name as the Minister Defense some 2-3 (or possibly more) weeks ago. If this turns out to be true, I believe there is at least one "guru" who has real intel. Way to go, Steve1! Oh, and way to go, GOI!!!! Now we only need to hear a similar agreement about the Ministers of Interior and National Security.
