Iranian official: Our response to Israel will be to bomb its capital

Shafaq News / On Sunday, Ahmad Bakhish Ardestani, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee, revealed new details about his country's response to Israel after the assassination of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in the capital, Tehran

 

In an exclusive interview with Russia Today Arabic, Ardestani said, "Regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran's reaction to Israel, I must address a number of points, given that Haniyeh was our special guest, we prepared the highest level of security for him, and the Iranians are hospitable, yet he was assassinated inside Iran"

 

"Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has stated that revenge for Haniyeh is on the agenda," he added

 

He stressed that "in order to show the world that our leader is honest and his promises are true, this attack on Israel will definitely happen, and this attack could be a surprise"

 

Ardestani explained that "in the last attack (the Truthful Promise) on Israel, it was carried out with 300 missiles and drones, and we informed Tel Aviv about it, and we only wanted to show our strength that we can break Israel's defensive shield and the cruise missiles that we launch hit the targets 10 to 12 minutes after they are launched"

 

"We showed Israel that we are capable of doing this, but it seems that this did not deter Israel. I think that if an operation is carried out this time, it will be in the form of a hybrid war," he added

 

He pointed out that "Iran can hit Haifa and Tel Aviv with 600 cruise missiles because they committed the assassination in Tehran and we must target their capital"

 

“The countries that support us or our allies, such as the resistance groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen, can do the same (attack Israel), but there is one scenario in which this conflict can be resolved, which is when the Israelis reach a consensus with Gaza and sign an agreement and Israel accepts its failure to eliminate Hamas, and when Tel Aviv accepts its failure to eliminate the movement and the existence of Hamas, this is a defeat for Israel, and this means that Iran does not need to address this issue (attack Israel),” Ardestani pointed out

 

It is noteworthy that Iran had threatened to take revenge on Israel for the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran on July 31

 

It is worth noting that Israel has not officially claimed responsibility for the assassination of Haniyeh

These Iranian leaders are absolutely insane to even contemplate such a strike. Such an attack is far beyond any reasonable response. Remember, Israel has not claimed responsibility. If Iran does this, Israel will retaliate with greater devastation than Iran can imagine - they will not restrain themselves. They will probably go after the nuclear sites, and wipe out their military airfields and known missile sites and storage areas. Plus, the US will probably participate in any response. We possess the weapons to get the deeply buried nuclear production sites. This will involve many ME nations, and probably draw Russia (and possibly China) into the fray.

I think this is nothing but sword rattling and of course Russia & China jump on board for fun.  They won’t do a thing.  They have too much to lose as well.

Iran couldn't do shi'ite to saddam what makes them think they can to Israel? Lotsa bluster and bravado if ya ask me!
