The ministry said in a brief statement that it will transfer the funds to the sites next week.

For his part, the Minister of Finance, Ali Abdul-Amir Allawi, instructed to grant loans for projects, support businessmen, and reconsider the mechanisms of lending.

During his visit, the Minister touched on the Rafidain Bank (General Administration) on how to develop work mechanisms according to internationally applicable means and keep pace with modernity in all the bank’s activities.

According to a statement issued by the bank today, Tuesday, the visit comes to see the bank’s workflow, the quality of services provided, and the speed of completion of banking transactions for customers.

The minister directed the application of the automation system to the banking business as soon as possible, similar to the sober global banks to provide better services to the Iraqi citizen, calling for the reconstruction of its branches to suit the ancient status of the bank.

Today, Monday, the Ministry of Trade announced that the General Company for Grain Trading has begun to deliver checks for a new meal for marketed wheat for the year 2020, early next week.
"As a result of the continuous follow-up of the Minister of Trade, Dr. Alaa Ahmed Al-Jubouri, with the Ministry of Finance, a new batch of marketed farmers' dues for the wheat harvest for the year 2020 has been secured in two stages," the ministry affirmed in a statement.
The ministry indicated that it "continues to follow up with the Ministry of Finance in order to pay all sums and financial obligations to farmers and distribute them before the start of the next season." 
She pointed out that it "ended its financial obligations with the farmers and zeroed all their sums in some provinces, in which the local marketed quantities of wheat were few, adding that it" seeks to zero in all the sums for the rest of the provinces. "
The ministry indicated that "the Minister of Trade continues his move with the Ministry of Finance to pay off the loan that was allocated as dues to farmers in order to enable the General Company for Grain Trade to communicate and work with farmers before the start of the new marketing season."

Since 1 usd=1,460 iqd and the import goods become every expensive. No wonder they start producing wheat  so they don't need to depend on import wheat that costs more pricey. Who knows, Not only wheat, but they also start produce something else, too.

What else do they produce ? Reasons not to RV their own currency??

They produce oil and gas and they are mainly the source of income for he government. Even iraq produce their agricultural goods ( wheat ), the quality of the products may not be good compared to us agricultural products. I think from my own opinion, actually iraq still prefer import goods than local goods made in iraq. Because 1 usd=1460 iqd and import good costs more pricey for ordinary lower class iraqi citizens , therefore iraq has no choice and iraq ( like it or not ) has to start producing agricultural goods made in iraq. Unless iraq can increase the iqd from 1460 to 1 iqd that makes the rate 1:1 ( in my own opinion ) and import good costs cheap, therefore, iraq will start importing agricultural goods again from the us. Of course, this is just my opinion.

Baghdad receives the overdue dues to the farmers of Kurdistan since 2014

 

Sulaymaniyah Agriculture confirmed, on Tuesday, that the federal government has delivered the dues of the region's farmers from 2014 until the current year .

Deputy Director General of the Directorate Rizgar Hamad Khader said, "The operations of harvesting the wheat crop planted within two million acres began in the Kurdistan region in the middle of last May, while the federal government opened silos to market them on the 21st of last June ."

Khader added, "The scarcity of rain water contributed significantly to reducing the production rate by 50% compared to last year, in addition to its impact on the purity and quality of the crop," stressing "the continuation of marketing operations in all silos and stations of the ministries of trade and industry in the region ."

He pointed out that "the end of this month, we will be able to determine the quantities marketed in total for this year," stressing that "despite the decrease in production this year, the region has succeeded in achieving self-sufficiency in the crop, since large areas of it depend on irrigation and not rain ."

Khader revealed that “the federal government has handed over the financial dues to the farmers of the region in full for the previous years since” 2014 until the current year, and there are only small amounts left that will be delivered later.

Al-Shammari said in a statement, of which "Nass" received a copy (July 9, 2021), "the farmers' outputs for strategic crops will also be supported by adding an amount of 50,000 dinars, which was included in the federal budget earlier."  

Al-Shammari added that "meetings will continue with officials in the Ministry of Finance until all the obstacles that prevent farmers and farmers from receiving their financial dues are resolved."  

The Presidency of Parliament assigned the head of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marshes to chair the committee to follow up on farmers' entitlements.

Parliament opens fire on finances due to farmers’ entitlements

Shafaq News/ On Wednesday, the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Water and Marshes accused the Ministry of Finance and other ministries of reviewing wheat revenues due to its policy and non-disbursement of farmers' dues.

 

Committee Chairman Salam Al-Shammari said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "The dues of farmers in all governorates of Iraq, including the 2014 dues, have not been paid so far, although they are included in the ruling expenses, similar to the salaries of employees."

 

He added, "We are in the middle of the eighth month of this year, and only a few of their dues have been paid," noting that "the farmers' segment represents 60% of the people."

 

Al-Shammari explained, "It was noted that there was a clear decline in the revenues of strategic crops, as we worked hard to support the local product and reach self-sufficiency with the arms of farmers, associations, parliament and the relevant sectoral ministries," adding that "the food basket and self-sufficiency of strategic crops for the years 2019-2020 were secured."

 

He pointed out that "due to the mismanagement of the Ministry of Finance and other sectoral ministries by not paying the dues, the revenues of the wheat crop and strategic crops fell to 3 million tons, after it was more than 5 and a half million, and Iraq announced the export of more than 800 tons of barley and also announced its readiness to export the wheat crop."

 

Al-Shammari added, "This year, due to the lack of government support and the policy of the Ministry of Finance, the revenues of the wheat crop fell to 3 million tons, and the Ministry of Commerce announced the import of the remainder, and this would open a door to corruption."

 

Al-Shammari blamed the government, the Ministry of Finance and the relevant ministries, "the reason for what the farmer suffers from, and this is a clear targeting that cannot be tolerated, and fiscal policy must be returned in this regard."
