 Baghdad: Kazem Al-Hanawi
In conjunction with the approaching parliamentary elections in the country, the streets and external roads were filled with advertisements, most of which were spent and repeated slogans before each election race, with complete chaos and distortion of most of the central islands. Crossroads.
Employee Hamid Awad says: "The image of the new parliament has become clear with the actions committed by some of its candidates, as we see that chaos will prevail in the scene, and the random way in which each candidate presents himself and his electoral campaign slogans increases the voters' mistrust of their candidates, as they are repeated slogans he had previously launched." Former deputies arrived in Parliament and did not apply it.
Some advertisements aroused the discontent of many citizens, after they became obstructing their traffic and the movement of vehicles, especially on the main streets, by placing their banners on signals and near traffic signs, not to mention placing them in places that block vision at crossroads.
Al-Kasib Ahmed Al-Farhoud believes that "the aim of these announcements is to introduce citizens to the person they will elect to represent them in Parliament, but the excessive and chaotic belief of some candidates that he must fill all the regions to which he belongs with his images and slogans."
He wonders about the reasons why the Independent Electoral Commission and the municipalities' directorates do not have wide oversight over these violations.
As for civil activist Basem Al-Kanzawi, he says that in addition to advertising banners and posters in the streets, some political parties broadcast advertisements on private channels, while other lists intensify their television campaigns.
He pointed out that "the voter will not be greatly affected by the announcement, but by the political and social history of the candidate and his financial capabilities sometimes!"
