This article is from yesterday and says Iran has 18 confirmed cases and 4 deaths.  This tells me coronavirus has been in Iran for a while and undoubtedly has already spread to Iraq.   😟

WHO officials say coronavirus outbreak in Iran is ‘very worrisome’

World health officials said Friday the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak in Iran, where health officials confirmed 18 new cases and four deaths in just two days, is “very worrisome.”

Earlier in the day, Iran confirmed 13 new coronavirus cases, bringing its total in the country to 18. Seven people with the flu-like virus were diagnosed in Qom, four people in Tehran and two in Gilan.

The small outbreak in Iran has been linked to a case in Canada and another infection of a 45-year-old woman in Lebanon after those patients traveled to the Middle East nation.

“The cases that we see in the rest of the world, although the numbers are small, but not linked to Wuhan or China, it’s very worrisome,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organization, said Friday at a news conference at the agency’s headquarters in Geneva. “These dots are actually very concerning.”

Shafaq News / While governments and health agencies are gasping for a vaccine that stops the new Corona virus from crawling, a genetic engineering company in the United States has announced that it has found a cure for this deadly disease

The Fox News News Network quoted the CEO of Griffix, which is based in Texas, as saying that his organization reached this week to vaccinate the Corona virus, and that the next step before obtaining marketing approval from the American authorities, It will be tested on animals

If the vaccine is approved by the US government, the company will distribute it for free in countries other than the United States

According to the company's CEO, John Price, the vaccine development process did not include using live or dead copies of the "Corona" virus that appeared in Wuhan, China, but used the vaccines for adenovirus vectors, which cause diseases similar to that transmitted by the dangerous virus

The new vaccine is the result of cooperation between "Griffix" and the National Institute of Health and Infectious Diseases, which gave the company 18.9 million countries last September to work to combat infectious epidemics

In a new tally of people living with HIV, China announced on Saturday that it had recorded 397 confirmed cases of corona on Friday, which is a decrease from 889 cases on Thursday

According to the National Health Commission of China, the total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland has reached 76,288 so far, while the number of deaths due to infection with the virus on the mainland has reached 2,345 as of the end of Friday

The central province of Hubei, the epicenter of the outbreak, recorded 106 new deaths, while 90 people died in Wuhan, the provincial capital, according to "Reuters"

22nd February, 2020

Iranian official television announced, Saturday, that an "official" of the newly infected "Corona" virus has been infected, amid fears that the disease has spread to large parts of the country.

The local media did not reveal the official's identity or health condition.

And Friday, health authorities in Iran announced the death of two other people due to the new virus that appeared in China, and said that the two deaths were among 13 confirmed new cases of the virus in Iran.

After the authorities reported the death of two people earlier this week, the death toll from the new Corona virus is 4 in Iran.

To date, 18 cases have been confirmed in Iran, including the four who died. All of the newly discovered cases were related to the city of Qom, where the first two elderly patients died on Wednesday, health ministry spokesman Kyanosh Jahanpur said.

He added that the new cases were either from Qom or had visited the city recently, and pointed out that 4 of the patients were transferred to the hospital in the capital, Tehran, and two in Ghailan Province in the north. "The virus may have come from Chinese workers working in Qom and have traveled to China," said the official at the Iranian Ministry of Health, Meno Mahraz, without elaborating.

It is noteworthy that a Chinese company is setting up a solar electricity production plant in Qom.

Oil is falling because of the increasing number of people infected with corona

image.php?token=f57f2b8a212b9b5401632f289df27656&size=

22nd February, 2020

Oil prices fell today, Saturday, due to the increasing number of casualties, as weak data from Asia intensified uncertainty about the economic outlook, while major crude producers seemed to be in no hurry to cut production.

Brent crude fell 1.65 dollars, or 2.6 percent to 57.75 dollars a barrel, and US crude fell 1.25 dollars, or 2.3 percent, to 52.63 dollars a barrel.

Financial leaders from the Group of Twenty, which includes the largest economies in Saudi Arabia, meet at the weekend to discuss the risks to the global economy after new economic and health data from Asia made investors cautious.

Yesterday, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that global energy producers are aware that it no longer makes sense for the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies to meet ahead of schedule.

The group, known as OPEC +, has been suppressing supplies to support prices for several years, and many analysts expect production restrictions to be extended or deepened.

This is so sad.  Poor people, I hope they take advantage of the fact that their leaders are also dropping like flies to revolt and bring in a new regime. https://www.naturalnews.com/2020-04-29-iran-excavating-10000-new-graves-for-future-deaths.html

Iran officials are excavating 10,000 new graves for future coronavirus deaths

Iran is building at least 10,000 new graves in the Behesht-e Zahra cemetery in Tehran for future coronavirus victims. This cemetery, the largest in Iran, covers more than 1,200 acres of land and contains nearly 1.7 million graves.

A video posted on Twitter showed rows upon rows of empty plots, which appear to be a new section built for coronavirus-related deaths. As the camera pans away from the newly built graves, wailing families can be seen mourning the loss of their loved ones.

April 27—#Iran's official #coronavirus stats
5,806 dead
91,472 cases

One Iranian official said the true number of cases & deaths are 20 times higher than official stats.

Tehran deputy mayor Mojtaba Yazdani told state news agency IRNA on Sunday that isolated facilities were also being constructed at Behest-e Zahra, so workers can conduct the traditional washing of the bodies before they are buried. These facilities will be built over former crisis shelters constructed on the cemetery’s grounds. The graves are dug 6.5 feet deep (two meters); however, the bodies will not be dusted with quicklime, the substance coated over graves that help prevent the spread of disease. Meanwhile, other cities dust the graves with quicklime and bury the dead in layers of protective shrouds.

Preparing for a second wave

Iranian officials have allowed so-called “low-risk businesses” – such as shops, factories and warehouses – to resume operations April 18, following reports of the daily coronavirus death toll hitting an all-time low. In addition, intercity highways and major shopping centers all over the country have been open since April 20.

Top officials in the country argue that the country cannot afford to remain in lockdown, saying that it is possible for the country to deal with the virus and reopen the economy through “smart social distancing” measures.

Businesses that wish to reopen need to register online and be inspected by health officials. Commuters are discouraged from using public transportation due to anti-congestion measures, leading to a significant uptick in car traffic in Tehran’s highways.

Iraj Harirchi, Deputy Minister for Health, warned that the partial lifting of lockdown restrictions can be reversed in the number of infections and deaths goes up once more.

But not everyone is on board with the reopening of businesses, as some people, including members of the Tehran City Council, remain skeptical. Mohsen Hashemi, chairman of the city council, challenged the Ministry of Health to reveal the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Tehran and its surrounding areas.

Hashemi said that without an accurate portrait of the coronavirus outbreak, city officials are forced to look through burial data gathered from Behesht-e Zahra. Hashemi, however, has also refused to give the number of burials conducted in Tehran’s main cemetery.

Iran’s official coronavirus figures put on the spotlight

The move to build 10,000 new graves have also raised concerns among experts. As of press time, Iran has reported only has 92,584 cases of COVID-19, including 5,877 deaths. However, different sources believe this to be much higher. (Related: Iran could be the next coronavirus death trap as casualties mount amid concerns that FAR more people are infected than the government is reporting.)

Gholam Ali Jafazadeh Imanabadi, a member of the Iranian parliament, had dismissed the country’s official coronavirus numbers. In February, he urged state officials to be transparent about the real figures. Imanabadi visited graveyards in both Tehran and Rasht – the northern city he represents – and concluded that officials were concealing the statistics from the people.

“You may conceal the numbers, but you cannot hide graveyards,” he added.

Other sources echoed Imandabadi’s concerns. A research center working with the parliament revealed that official records only included those who tested positive for COVID-19 and died in hospital. The World Health Organization has also said that Iran’s death toll could be five times higher than the official count, due in part to the fact that health workers were only testing “severe cases.”

It’s difficult to tell the actual extent of Iran’s outbreak, due largely to the country’s tightly controlled and regulated media sources. However, if the creation of 10,000 new graves in Behesht-e Zahra is any indication, the Iranian government may be preparing for the deaths of thousands more before the pandemic is over.
