WASHINGTON - The United States has imposed sanctions on Venezuelan state-owned oil firm PDVSA, White House national security adviser John Bolton said on Monday.

"We have continued to expose the corruption of (Venezuelan President Nicolas) Maduro and his cronies and today's action ensures they can no longer loot the assets of the Venezuelan people," Bolton told reporters at a briefing on Monday.

Venezuelan deputy: Russian aircraft transported 20 tons of gold from the Central Bank

Venezuelan deputy: Russian aircraft transported 20 tons of gold from the Central Bank

 30 January 2019 02:17 PM
Directly : MP Venezuelan claimed that there is a Russian - style "Byung - 777" plane landed in Caracas this week to transfer 20 tons of gold from the central bank of the country.

When Venezuelan MP Jos Guria wrote this on his Twitter page on Tuesday, questions about the source of the information were questioned but he did not answer.

Gurya is one of the former economies of the Central Bank of Venezuela, and is likely to be in touch with his old colleagues.

A person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg on Wednesday that the value of the 20 tons of gold equivalent to 840 million dollars, representing about 20% of the total mineral possession in Venezuela.

According to Flight Radar 24, the plane belonging to the Moscow-based Nord-End Air Lines landed at an international airport near Caracas.

The Venezuelan finance minister commented that no Russian plane had landed at the international airport of Simone Bolivar. "I will start bringing Russian and Turkish planes every week so that everyone will be scared," he said.

Russia and Turkey are the main backers of President Nicolas Maduro after opposition leader Juan Guido declared himself the interim president of the country.
