Statement on Iranian Disinformation

PRESS STATEMENT - Michael R. Pompeo, Secretary of State

1024px-Seal_of_the_United_States_Department_of_State.svg.png

22nd June, 2019

Iran’s leaders know the truth is a dangerous thing. It is important to correct the record.

First, President Trump did not pass a message through Oman calling for talks with Iran. We have made our position abundantly clear. We are willing to engage when the time is right. It’s telling that the Iranian regime rejected the recent, historic diplomacy of Japanese Prime Minister Abe, attacked a Japanese tanker in the Gulf of Oman, and shot down a U.S. aircraft operating in international airspace.

When the Iranian regime decides to forgo violence and meet our diplomacy with diplomacy, it knows how to reach us. Until then, our diplomatic isolation and economic pressure campaign against the regime will intensify.

Second, the United States has shown beyond any doubt that Iran shot down a U.S. unmanned aircraft in international airspace. Foreign Minister Zarif’s hand-drawn map disputing this fact is not credible. This attack marks the second time Iran targeted an American unmanned aircraft in recent weeks.

Third, the United States is not evacuating personnel from Balad Air Base in Iraq. Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States is more committed than ever to supporting our allies and partners in the region.

The United States stands for peace and stability in the Middle East. The decisions we have taken in response to Iran’s reckless attacks have been to deter the Islamic Republic of Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and delivery systems for those weapons, and to prevent the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism from threatening Americans and American interests worldwide. Iran’s leaders know this is the truth, which is why they resort to violence and disinformation. We will continue to set the record straight.

20th June, 2019

The governor of the Central Bank of Iraq praised the contents of the latest book of the banking expert Samir Nusairi, entitled "Light in the last tunnel," and thanked the Association of Iraqi private banks to support system" rel="">support such efforts in the interest of the local economy

"I can say that the author of this book is the light in the first tunnel, and this stems from my personal follow-up to the intellectual output of the writer of the book and his continuing role in the correction," Al-Alak said in a speech at a ceremony marking the signing of al-Nasiri's book at the headquarters of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks in Baghdad. And follow-up and a statement of opinion in various areas and places, "noting that" is characterized by a special nature, as the view of the writer is a holistic view and not partial

He added that "Samir Nusseiri wrote the book with open eyes on the reality of the Iraqi economy as a whole, and this subject is very important because the banking sector and all policies that are linked to this sector is undoubtedly part of a large system affect each other," pointing out that "Nasiri when he writes It speaks of reality in all its dimensions, and its various effects on this sector, whether affected by what is going on around him or affect what surrounds him

"We have a lot of indicators and facts in the central bank that prove this fact. Unless there is a holistic view of our reality, it is difficult to make fundamental structural changes. For example, in the absence of stimulus programs for the real industrial and agricultural sector, "But the real rate of implementation in these initiatives is still modest, although everyone is talking about the need and the need of the country to stimulate real sectors and provide significant investment opportunities in this area

"When we talk about the banking sector today, as the book speaks, and it looks at all the things that are related to the economic aspects and looks at it from this perspectivefor example the issue of selling the dollar by the central bank, I said why we all talk about one side is the supply side , And why not talk about the other side of the demand for the dollar, "noting that" when we talk about the demand for the dollar, then we will correct the large structural imbalances that exist in our economic reality, but when we press on the offer by the Central Bank will create large imbalances in the Iraqi economy, It will affect All economic activities, monetary stability, exchange rate and so on

The central bank governor asked: "Why are those who respond to the request to be held accountable, without accounting and analyzing the other side of the demand, and how it occurs due to a significant shortage in the real sectors and their inability to satisfy the demand of domestic demand from agriculture and industry, in addition to other aspects such as health, "And when I read the book of Nasiri from the cover of the cover and his grandmother talking about these things, and we are proud of the tender, and thank the Association of Iraqi private banks to create such conditions and atmosphere and support system" rel="">support for such trends

Effectively it looks as though Alak has set the stage to create,

if not already implemented the time frame to use the mechanism to turn the auctions off as we know them,

as they are ready to correct the large structural imbalances to a position of balance...

the tools are in place to raise the balance of the Central Bank (read Exchange Rate, imo) !!

A proposal to extend the work {special grades} 90 days

Monday 24 June 2019

alsabaah-14617.jpg

Baghdad / Sabah / Shaima Rashid

The Parliament is expected to vote during the current week on 170 names of special grades are ready and agreed between the political blocs out of the 4800 and extends the work of the rest of the other 3 months an official request will be submitted by the Prime Minister to remove the government from falling in legal form contrary to the budget decisions and the government - This file on June 30, and revealed members of the House of Representatives for the "morning" of the existence of differences between the political blocs on the positions of special grades.

Member of the House of Representatives Badr Zeadi, confirmed that "the government sent 170 names only resolved their subject and are ready to vote out of the 4800 of special grades, while there will be a proposal to postpone the rest of the names for 90 days because they can not complete their files."

Zeadi said in a statement to the "morning": that "will be postponed the vote on special grades for 90 days only and the validity of information circulating on keeping them in office for the end of this year," noting that "the government will submit a formal request to parliament to postpone the deadline to resolve the file, That the parliament voted in the budget to be the last day of this is the 30 of June, "he added," If the vote in parliament on the proposal of 90 days, the owners of special grades will continue to work during this period to be the last opportunity for the government " .

Extension and positions
"Among the members of the House of Representatives Ali al-Budairi, it is impossible to have a vote on the special grades, and may extend their stay in them, so that the situation remains the same," blaming the political blocs for the delay due to major differences on these positions.
Al-Badairi told al-Sabah: "There are big problems around the special grades and there is no agreement on this issue between the political blocs, which gives a clear justification that the special grades will not be passed, like the rest of the ministerial cabin because of the lack of consensus and harmony and differences deepened one day after else".
He added that "the government towards; and the large political blocs that came the government off, and therefore these data have a significant impact on the completion of the cabinet and special grades also in the future."
He added that "it is possible to vote on some of those special grades to give the impression of the street that the blocks went to vote on them; but in fact there is no seriousness in this regard," noting that "there are conflicts and differences between the blocks to divide these Positions and impossibility to be passed easily. "

Legal opinion
On the other hand, the legal expert Tariq Harb, "The parliament if it wants to extend the special grades, it should be a law is from now, because the ruling was received by law, but the government to address the matter and apply for extension."
He said the war for "morning": "The Agency is the holder of the position without being legally entitled and without the fulfillment of the constitutional requirements, because all owners of special grades must be submitted to the parliament to vote on them, and the impact of their stay under the law that their actions are void and Deprived of financial allocations, "noting that" special grades include the region and the federal government and are in the parliament and the provinces because of the existence of many special grades that have been developed. "
He added that "the owners of special grades will remain engaged in their work, but the limits of the law after June 30," explaining that "many laws have been violated in previous years, such as the amendment of the Constitution, which was supposed to be in 2006 did not amend, as well as article 140 of Which is supposed to take place in 2007 and did not happen. "

Modification efforts
For his part, the MP for the alliance of victory Faleh Zeidi, the existence of efforts to amend the budget paragraph dedicated to resolve the file of special grades, noting that the amendment allows postponement of the discount until the end of the year.
Zayadi said in an interview: "The issue of special grades is an important and dangerous subject and there is a lack of controls and standards through which to submit the names of candidates for those positions," noting that "the mechanism of choice is also not clear between an electronic window or the nominations of political blocs or quotas, In our opinion the most realistic and closest to the existing on the ground. "
He added Ziadi, "The victory coalition announced its position of rejecting the distribution on the basis of quotas and we have called for postponing this file to another time until the maturity of the vision and the mechanisms used to build a state institutions away from the abhorrent quotas," pointing out that "there is a desire within the House of Representatives to amend the special paragraph of the budget To determine the 30th of this month as the date for the resolution of special grades through the proposal to amend and read the first reading and second and then vote to postpone the resolution of special grades to the end of this year.

Correct the path
The MP for the Fatah alliance Hamed al-Moussawi said that the right path to complete the ministerial cab is through a roundtable on which the main forces are sitting with the prime minister.
Moussawi said in a press statement: "The Prime Minister to the moment has no official candidates for the ministries remaining, but has a set of names are changing at every moment as a result of the lack of agreement on the political blocs on specific names," noting that "the pressures and deals prevented access to specific names of those ministries In addition to the differences in views of each political body on the names that are raised. "
He added that "Abdul-Mahdi does not want to come to parliament without a consensus because the failure to pass the names that will provide a blow to him and his government, and he wants a harmony between the legislative and executive authorities," pointing out that "some names raised through the media objections from political forces Some of which are covered by accountability and justice. We have a previous experience that we do not want to be repeated by passing names without sufficient scrutiny. "
"The right path to complete the ministerial cab is through a round table where the main forces are sitting at least with the prime minister because we can not satisfy everyone and agree on a group of names of one basket passed within parliament," Moussawi said.
