US commander: Iraqi forces exceeded all expectations and became a skilled force

25th June, 2019

The commander of the US 3rd Cavalry Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Kent Park, said Thursday that the Iraqi security forces have become a "skilled military force" and exceeded all expectations, pointing out that these forces are more willing to move the battle to the battlefield of the enemy.

"The Iraqis have made great gains in becoming a skilled military force and appear to be more willing to take the battle to the battlefield," the US military news website Arme News quoted Park as saying. "They were a fighting force. In their fight against a preacher."

"In future deployments, the regiment intends to apply the lessons learned from its nine-month tour (inIraq ) to an appropriate training course, and specifically will focus its efforts on developing competency in combined arms maneuvers in a critical work environment," Park said.

"The allied forces and the (Iraqi) partners have exceeded all expectations and I can not wait to see what amazing things they will do in the future," he said.  "Iraqi forces were able to support themselves in the fighting, moving motor vehicles more than 180 miles in three days without the need to consult them," said Adam Nash, senior adviser to the British Park Force.

This is how America plans to paralyze Iran's economy

%D8%A7%D9%8A%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86-18-300x17

The next stage of the United States sanctions scheme on Iran is aimed at gradually tightening the blockade on Iran's gas sector, while ensuring that European mechanisms to pursue trade with it are not successful, according to a report by OilPrice.

The report said all these policies aim to reduce Iranian energy export revenues to less than $ 14 billion a year, OilPrice quoted a high-level oil source closely linked to the Iranian Oil Ministry.

"This is the threshold for US revenues, which is needed to push for a popular revolution to overthrow the current regime in Tehran, but without causing a humanitarian catastrophe," he said.

The US report believes that Washington does not want a humanitarian disaster in Iran showing its bleak images on television screens.

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday imposing tough new sanctions against Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Revolutionary Guards commanders.

In April, Washington said it aimed to deprive Iran of vital oil revenues of $ 50 billion.

European objections

The US position in the report says that the move to tighten the screws on Iranian gas exports may be delayed due to its negative consequences, which may be more serious relations with the United States, the European Union, which is experiencing increasing tensions, especially with Germany.

Europe's objections to US sanctions on gas exports are expected to rise, as they come at a time when Washington is looking to seek to intervene in European plans to get gas from Russia at a cheaper price than it currently does.

The dispute, according to the report, revolves around the Nord Stream 2 project, a 1225-km pipeline to transport gas from Russia under the Baltic Sea to Germany, which will double the capacity of the existing Nord Stream pipeline.

At present, the financial situation in Iran is clearly deteriorating rapidly, with about 40% of budget revenues coming from oil exports.

It is based on double assumptions of achieving export capacity of about 1.54 million barrels per day of crude oil and gas, with a price of 54.1 dollars a barrel, at a time when exports fell to about four hundred thousand barrels, and selling prices 22% To 25% compared to official prices, because Tehran "is still obliged to the rest of the countries to offer production with heavy cuts."

Reuters quoted earlier Iranian sources as saying that Tehran is increasing its petrochemical exports and is seeking to open up new markets to compensate for the drop in oil sales.

A US official said in March that Tehran had lost $ 10 billion in revenue since sanctions were imposed in November, Reuters reported.

A war of attrition

The Oil-Price report suggests that in the event of any incident in the region, whether real or misleading, similar to attacks on tankers in the waters of the Gulf of Oman, this would be enough to trigger a military confrontation between the United States and Iran.

But Washington's favorite solution - as the report says - is to wage a war of attrition against Tehran.

The Iranian Oil Minister, Bijen Zankane denied the validity of media reports pointed to the decline of crude oil exports by US sanctions, saying it was purely a "lie."

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Region is set to hold its annual international fair for electricity and construction companies in the capital of the autonomous Kurdish region.

Local and foreign officials in the Kurdistan Region will mark the opening of the four-day event on Wednesday.

Ahmed Tania, a member of the fair’s organizing board, said the event presents a unique opportunity for local companies in Kurdistan to establish cooperation and partnership with international firms and promote and develop their output.

“This fair holds great importance as foreign companies can use Erbil as a gateway to reach the rest of Iraq, especially the liberated areas, including Nineveh governorate,” Tania told Kurdistan 24.

He said the fair begins at 11 a.m. local time on Wednesday with over 100 major companies both locally and internationally from six different nations set to participate.

“The International fair for construction and electricity is held once a year in the Kurdistan Region, promotes the use of local products, and benefits the national economy,” Tania added.

One of the fair’s aims is to contribute to the reconstruction of liberated areas, which have been severely damaged and devastated during the fight against the so-called Islamic State.

Wednesday’s event marks the third international fair held in the past month in the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
