 Yes, I remember this. Iyad Allawi won the election, but Maliki was placed into power with help from obamma. Obamma needs even more credit for screwing everything up.

As much as i was personally discouraged in the last US president it was george w. bush who was the US president when the whole Allawi won the popular vote but Maliki was put in as PM thinking it would be a better fit for the first election in iraq ... maliki was put in the PM slot in april 2006 , Bush was Pres. till 2009 and the rest is history from 2009 on till his term ended obama began his dismantling and that's all ill say about that .... letsroll
