Again, we see that just when Iraq starts to take very important steps forward, monkey wrenches are thrown in to try and stop the progress.  Remember the budget???  The day before the vote, Maliki decided that the Kurds should only get 13% instead of 17%.  He tried to ram it through and got it thrown back in his face by his own party.  It did not work.  Now again, I believe we are seeing him behind the scenes stirring up trouble, trying to halt the change needed to bring prosperity to all Iraqis, not just a privileged few.  Hopefully this too will fail.  Sadr always calls for the protests first, not just pop up out of nowhere.  This is Maliki, through and through.

The loans from IMF, etc have just been granted on the schedule and terms we have seen in the news articles posted here.  I suspect there are a lot of things (good, legal, bad, illegal, etc.) going on behind the scenes that we will likely never know about.  Some of it we anticipate, some of what we think should happen (Maliki and associates indicted and materially removed from corrupt operations) does not appear to be making significant head way.

My opinion, even though things look chaotic, disorganized, and dismal, there will be significant stabilizing and progressive realities in the near future.  ISIS on the decline, IMF (etc.) loans approved, border crossings reestablished, tariffs and customs being applied, political upheaval (parliament, cabinet, etc), and bombings.  I suspect the main culprit (Maliki and associates) are in their dying gasps of influence.  Once the cabinet issues are resolved and parliament is back to business (could be as soon as next week), I am thinking the corruption puppet masters will be targeted and removed one way or the other.  I suspect then the progression for the foundation of the well being of Iraq and all the Iraqi citizens will take off like a rocket.
