He added that the tourism sector recovery needs bold decisions by the government, such as the establishment civilian airports in every province where there is a tourist site, as well as the issuance of facilities for tourists and travelers to these sites through coordination with tour companies, as well as the activation of the propaganda side to promote tourist sites in the country so as to bring foreign tourists to it.

The chairman of the provincial council adviser Dhi Qar , Saturday, plan to build a road linking the three most important archaeological sites northeast of Nasiriyah , pointing out that the plan includes the creation of the market and prepare a guide to the archaeological sites in the province.

 

Said Amer Abdul Razak said in an interview for "Alsumaria News", "Economic and Financial Committee of the Council of Dhi Qar province has prepared a plan and study the integrated development of the tourism sector in the province to be an economic resource substitute for the oil sector," noting that "the plan includes extending a road linking the three most important archaeological sites located in the north-east of Nasiriyah, a by-site and Zrgl or so-called Balimaúah of Queen Sumer and Lagash archaeological site, as well as a set of benchmarks refer to those sites. "

 

He said Abdul Razak that "the plan also includes the preparation of a special guide archeological sites in the province, in addition to the Overture museums, universities and foreign to intensify its presence in the province and increase Altnguibh missions to conduct excavations at the sites where excavations have not been," he said, adding that "the plan will hopefully be implemented in cooperation with Petronas, the Malaysian company operating in the Garraf oil field. Im with you bigwave. Iraq is the "Garden of Eden", the very place where according to the bible the story of mankind began. We are talking Babylonia, Mespotamia, the very cradle of civilization. Can you imagine the tourist trade there. I know in San Antonio the city is built around the Alamo, and the Alamo was there Long before anyone saw the opportunity. So with some hotels, put in a river walk, add lots of nice shops and restrants you have a huge draw. The tourist trade there is huge boost to the city. Imagine the museums, the tours, the stories we have only read about now coming to life! 12,000 archilogical sites!!! I wanna go.. Wait, I will go!

If they could secure the borders, get rid of IS, yes,  it would be a big draw to visit these sites. Yes, there are nice hotels in Iraq, but it's not safe right now. If they could get it like that they could be like the UAE with cities like Dubai. Could be a great source of income, if they can get rid of the terrorists, could be beautiful.
