A source close to Prime Minister al-Abadi he signed the dismissal (132), a senior officer in the Iraqi army, including three officers of the rank of the team and (24) an officer with the rank of brigade and a brigade corner.

The source said, "Abadi issued the list after returning from New York, which has had to post acts of the General Assembly of the UN to purge the armed forces of corrupt officers or those who do not hold any professional competence."

He added that "al-Abadi cleansing campaign began the new Iraqi ground forces commander Lt. Gen. Ali Ghaidan and Deputy Army Chief of Staff Gen. Abboud Qanbar to include far (132) officer."

The source explained that "(24) an officer with the rank of brigade and a brigade of the corner and the deans and colonels were dismissed or referred for retirement after a report issued by a special committee formed by Abadi and showed their involvement in crimes against humanity and involvement in business deals and their interference in the political process as well as the ethical scandals

Thanks Yota...Abadi just did the best thing for rebuilding the Iraqi arm forces moral and confidence...There's no room for insubordination and especially treason in any credible armed force...Hopefully Maliki will face the treason charges further down the road....

Great.  He doesn't mind getting help or advice.  He makes his own decisions.  He may just be genuine.  He sounds like it.

For his own safety he needed to purge the army and he needs new recruits who share a vision for Iraq as prosperous

and not war torn.

I hope you are right. Anymore it is difficult to say who may be a savior and who may be a villain. Look at the U.S. in the last six years. That being said, he can't be any worse than Maliki I guess.

I know we all would like to do the same thing here in America - but start with politicians rather than military.

 

Everything that is happening - is a result of their actions. Don't buy it when they say things just got out of hand and they are there to help. They are mostly incompetent and we really can't afford much more of their help - it's killing us

 

We may have time left to save the Republic. Just need to get up off our collective apathetic posteriors and do some serious house cleaning.
