Obama does not have a strategy to counter the "Islamic state" so far

Washington -arac Press -29 August / August: President Barack Obama, on Thursday evening, said the United States had not yet developed a strategy to counter the so-called "Islamic State" in Syria.

The comments raised Obama during a news conference at the White House before a meeting of national security advisers on how to deal with "Islamic state" criticism from Republicans offset clarification from the White House spokesman Josh Earnest.

A member of the House of Representatives Republican Tom Price in a message posted on Twitter, "the president says (we do not have a strategy yet) to deal with the organization (the Islamic State), this is a clear and unacceptable increasingly."

A White House spokesman said Obama was referring to the military options that the president has a comprehensive strategy to address the group through diplomatic means.

Obama decided earlier this week to start sorties over Syria to the poll, sparking speculation that he is about to expand the fight against armed groups in Iraq to Syria.

Obama said he had asked his defense minister Chuck Hagel prepare a set of options to confront the armed groups, and said that Foreign Minister John Kerry will travel to the region to assist in the establishment of an alliance against the militant group.

Obama's strategy is not limited to the organization of the Islamic state on military action, but opponents include support for moderate Sunnis in Syria and encourage the formation of a unity government in Baghdad between Shiites and Sunnis who have been waging a sectarian struggle.

Obama said, "My priority at this stage is to ensure the defeat gains made by (the Islamic State) in Iraq, and that Iraq has the opportunity to govern itself effectively and secure itself."

Obama added that the options requested by the military planners in the Ministry of Defense is mainly focused on making sure that the organization of the Islamic State "Do not sweep Iraq."

And increasing the likelihood of congressional concerns that the United States implement the military strikes in Syria. Obama promised to consult with Congress, but he did not pledge to seek a specific mandate from Congress, contrary to what happened a year ago during a search strikes against Sora.anthy (1)
