docneedles
Iraq should be so grateful for Barzani. He is a voice for the people. It is not 17% of oil revenues, which is the last i read about the HCL, but it is a nice beginning.

lakedreamer
Nice job, Mr. Barzani! Per month, no less! Looking for a third term? Anyway, one day years from now the rest of Iraq will catch on and be able to do this too. They're just going to need a little more time to get their act together. tankdude
I spent almost a year in Kurkuk among the Kurds and the Turkoman. One the I do have to say about them - they are serious about business. They are very European in their outlook - and they want an international economy. Even back in 2005 when I was there, most of the businesmen and local politicians I talked with were very forward looking. Hope this finally plays out, because I'd love to eventually go back as a tourist.
