krome2ez
'Which ice cream company wants to take away your assault rifles?' NRA publishes list of anti-gun organizations and celebrities PUBLISHED: 00:55 EST, 7 January 2013 | UPDATED: 08:36 EST, 7 January 2013 Comments (160) Share ..Ice creams companies, jean manufacturers, and Oscar winning actors all have the honor of being named by the National Rifle Association in the group's newly released list of anti-gun advocates. With hundreds of individuals, organizations, media companies, and businesses named, the group claims it organized its enemies list by identifying those who'd lent money, grassroots support, or any other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. Among the many famous celebrities gun aficionados may wish to boycott are Jack Nicholson, Sylvester Stallone, **** Van Dyke, George Clooney, and even 88-year-old Lauren Bacall. Star-studded: The NRA's lengthy list includes dozens of celebrities like George Clooney they say are anti-gun Peace-lover: Though he's made his name on violent films, Sylvester Stallone has supported too much gun control for the NRA's tastes Perhaps more surprising are some of the businesses and organizations, including the National Spinal Cord Injury Association, the American Medical Assocation, Levi Strauss & Co., Hallmark cards, Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, and Ben & Jerry`s Homemade, Inc. Not even the American Association of Retired Persons was spared the NRA's gaze. Several religious organizations were also named, such as the Episcopal Church-Washington Office. The Kansas City Royals baseball organization was also listed as being anti-gun. Sweet tooth: Even ice cream makers Ben and Jerry's made the NRA's anti-gun list Alongside the Gannet Publications and the New York Times, the NRA also cautioned against reading Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine The list is far from the first salvo in the war between those calling for gun control and those opposing it. It was compiled by the group's Institute of Legislative Action. In December, New York paper the Journal News published online maps that allow viewers to see the names and addresses of pistol and revolver permit holders in neighboring Westchester and Rockland counties. Just my imagination: Motown legends the Temptations also incurred the NRA's wrath According to the NRA, many of these organizations would lend their support to specific anti-gun legislation campaigns like the March 1995 HCI 'Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws.' The NRA added that several organizations were listed as 'Campaign Partners,' pledging to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton assault weapons ban, and that each of them officially endorsed anti-gun positions. The full list can be viewed at the Daily Caller. (List posted on this tread after this article.) I was cruising the web reading gun articles and then I started wondering about writing an article on anti-gun organizations and people. Since anti-gunners are always saying “no one wants to take your guns away” or they want me to live under their take of “sensible gun laws” (neither of which I believe to be prudent, sensible or anything remotely truthful) I figured I would go to the NRA’s Institute of Legislative Action to find out who are the people that want to be sure that I can’t defend my home or go shooting my .22 in the woods (both heinous acts of human behavior to be sure). So, hats off the the NRA-ILA team for compiling this list. Here is what the NRA-ILA team had to say. The following organizations have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI “Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws.” Many of these organizations were listed as “Campaign Partners,” for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton “assault weapons” ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions. Shabibilicious
(The following post will be presented in RED....I'm all about matching colors) Judging from those lists......that's just about everybody. My thought is this, if one was to add the names of all the companies that do business with the ones on this list.......then those companies would be "enemies" of the NRA as well, even if they are pro gun. The NRA is millions strong......but they don't hold a candle to AARP. As always, just my opinion. GO RV, then BV 1

Kinda like the pot calling the kettle black isn't it?? Two faced hypocrites!! Not just that Bumper... I'd love to see the list of those same people that actually do own a firearm, or their "bodyguards"! I have no doubt in my belief that many of them are "closet" firearm owners simply toeing the Hollywood line. "Liberal guilt"... it's a cowardly disease.

Kinda like the pot calling the kettle black isn't it?? Two faced hypocrites!! I agree with you Bump, Did you notice AMC Theaters on the list? I don't think they have stopped showing movies with guns in them. If they did they would most likely go bankrupt. When will these people and groups stop blaming guns and start putting the blame where it belongs, on the nuts that commit the crime?
Farwould
I didnt see my name on that list of ENEMIES? How can I be a enemy if I dont own a gun? You mean my words put fear into them.My words kill them? It wont be me who takes your guns it will be yourselves who own guns and you are your own enemy. Good citizens who obey the laws of this land dont need a gun because in their hearts they want to be honest and law obiding where as the crimminal who wants a gun to commit crimes against the honest makes a person who is a good citizen pick up a gun and commit the same crime a crimminal does by killing. Is this your justice? If there were no guns it would'nt be so easy to commit alot of crimes that are used by the gun. People want to live right? The NRA can come up with all the excuses they want to but they will lose because there are more reasons against keeping them.More wicked have guns than the just who would only use them for protection.Crimminals dont care at all and would use one on you in a second and the NRA keeps guns in there hands as well. How many innocent must die so you can have a gun?How many crimes commited with a gun must go on so you can have your gun?I know you dont care just gimme my gun. If we all feared God we would never fear the gun.Right now in this society we dont need guns why you ask? Just wait for the responses to this post and then you shall see why.More good ammunition for Heir Feinstein to use.I think I will get me some ben and jerrys its safe to eat contains no lead. Love and Peace something to LIVE by. 2

tim228
When a man pulls a gun on me, and threatens to take my life, someone is going to die. He made the decision that someone is going to die. If I have a gun, I get to decide who. That is where the diferance comes in. You can speak about how if there were no guns, then gun crimes would not happen. Well, criminals will always have guns. That is just how it is.

Liljohn
Farwould YOU ARE SO FAR OFF THE MARK IT IS UNBELIEVABLE! YOU OBVIOUSLY DID NOT GET THIS THE FIRST TIME! PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELF ABOUT WHAT THE WORD OF GOD ACTUALLY SAYS ABOUT SELF DEFENSE. 19 Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own; 20 for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body. (1Co 6:19-20 ASV) Not only are we to take care of our bodies and the life contained. We have an obligation to preserve the body and life of other people. Psalm 82:4 even cites an obligation to protect those who are in danger: Psalm 82:4 Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. Nehemiah 4 17 Those who were rebuilding the wall and those who carried burdens took their load with one hand doing the work and the other holding a weapon. 18 As for the builders, each wore his sword girded at his side as he built, whilethe trumpeter stood near me. ... 21So we carried on the work with half of them holding spears from dawn until the stars appeared. ....23 So neither I, my brothers, my servants, nor the men of the guard who followed me, none of us removed our clothes, each took his weapon even to the water. If you live somewhere where you have reason to be concerned about crime, this would be similar to legally carrying a weapon to defend your family, even when running daily errands to the store. Esther 8-9 The final Old Testament passage we examine is in the book of Esther. Here we have a historical example arranged by Divine Providence. In this account, the Jews are under threat of racial violence. The civil authority, King Ahasuerus, grants them legal permission to use lethal force in self-defense: Esther 8:11-12 11 By these letters the king permitted the Jews who were in every city to gather together and protect their lives -- to destroy, kill, and annihilate all the forces of any people or province that would assault them, both little children and women, and to plunder their possessions... So they have legal sanction to "protect their lives" using ultimate force, much as we do in most parts of this country. They are allowed to "kill and annihilate" in order to "protect their lives." Now, as people under obligation to obey God, not just stay within the civil laws of Ahasuerus, what do the Jews do with this legal freedom? Esther 9:1-5 ...the Jews themselves overpowered those who hated them. 2 The Jews gathered together in their cities throughout all the provinces of King Ahasuerus to lay hands on those who sought their harm. And no one could withstand them, because fear of them fell upon all people....5 Thus the Jews defeated all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, with slaughter and destruction, We see that given legal sanction to defend their lives with lethal force, they do not choose non-violence. Rather, as it says in verse 11, to "protect their lives", they use the "sword" (verse 5). Here is another example of widespread use of weapons in self-defense—a non-wartime, non-law enforcement scenario. Buying and carrying a sword Luke 22:35-39 And He said to them, "When I sent you without money bag, knapsack, and sandals, did you lack anything?" So they said, "Nothing." 36 Then He said to them, "But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. 37 "For I say to you that this which is written must still be accomplished in Me: 'And He was numbered with the transgressors.' For the things concerning Me have an end." 38 So they said, "Lord, look, here are two swords." And He said to them, "It is enough." 39 Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. Here's the context. Picture this. Jesus and his disciples have just had communion. They are about to go to a time of prayer in the garden. Jesus says these words to His disciples, and it's as if they are saying, "Look what we have with us, Lord. Two guns!" Jesus responds, "It is enough." If you read commentaries on this passage, there are a number of questions which are not clearly answered. There are questions about the applicability of this passage, of the intent of Jesus, of the meaning of His response. Whatever your interpretation of this passage, there are a few broad-stroke observations we can make about this passage. Jesus expected them to have swords and anticipated a time when those without swords would need to acquire them. Among eleven disciples, they did have two swords--in almost a 1:5 ratio. Jesus expected them to carry the swords on their person as they traveled from the city to the garden prayer meeting. It is difficult to make absolute claims beyond these observations, but the observations themselves have significance. Namely, among those closest to Jesus, some carried personal weapons in His presence with His consent to communion and to prayer meetings. We cannot make absolute claims as to the reasons, right or, wrong, for the carriage of these weapons. Perhaps it was in anticipation of trouble from the Jewish leadership. Perhaps it was protection against mere robbers. Paul in 2 Cor. 11:26 cites the "perils of robbers". Though there are questions we can't answer, we do know they possessed these weapons, that they carried these weapons, and that Jesus knew and consented. Furthermore, Jesus spoke of some time, present or future, when disciples would need to acquire personal weapons, even more urgently than garments. GOD BLESS!!! LORD SEND THE RAIN!!!
