Said Ali al-Moussawi, media adviser to Prime Minister vote of the Council of Ministers to assign Abdul Basit Turki to manage the central bank to further notice.

Published May 4, 2012 BAGHDAD - When leaders from Baghdad and the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region agreed in January 2011 to re-start Kurdish oil exports, they enlisted the federal Board of Supreme Audit (BSA) to function as a financial referee.

They got more than they bargained for. The export agreement required an audit of the costs associated with Kurdistan's oil development – but BSA President Abdulbaist Turki Saeed insisted that his organization's mandate required a more extensive review of production and revenues.
