  1. Zantac, I don't get your point. If it RV'd on July 15th instead of the 1st, they still have their 200,000 dinar (unless they spent some)and they are still worth $200,000, yes? Or if it RV'd on the July 1st, then they wouldn't receive 200,000 dinar they would receive, let's say, 200 dinar on July 4th.
  2. I asked the same question to Mr Issa at Warka and he replied in an e-mail that Warka pays interest at the "end" of June and December.
  3. Superfly, I agree with you. I've been reading for some time about "if they come in too low, then the Big Fish will buy all the dinar up causing havoc". If this investment is on any Big fish's radar, they would risk a little money now to make maybe a 1000 times their money. If they wait till it RV's they would be risking a lot of money to maybe make 3, 4 or 5 times their money over 3 to 5 years on a very volatile country. I don't think that will happen. The first option has much less risk and more gain to it. It is IMO a no-brainer.
  4. It could be because the Central Bank was recently attacked by terrorists.
  5. Sparkling, Where did you hear or read that the banks are not selling anymore dinar? I don't believe this is true. If it were, of course, it would be a very BIG deal!
  6. With this new stalling in Parliament, and no apparent improvement with the Kuwaiti situation (borders and bodies) I can't see them releasing Iraq from Chap7 yet. I guess this means that the next UN meeting for this purpose would be Sept 15th? By this time, I believe, the ducks should be lined up, the RV complete, and they will be released.
  7. You have to contact Mr Issa or Account Services by e-mail and ask for access. They will then send you your info. There is a yearly charge for this. I can't remember how much off the top of my head, but it was not a lot.
  8. Thanks K98nights, This is awful big news to be stuck on page 2, so I thought I would respond to move it up. I had been hoping that they would not come up with a name and a leader for their alliance to make it easy on Talabani to choose Allawi for forming the government. Now, it seems, a choice has to be made. I believe this really complicates matters.
  9. Thanks for the Head Bang Carla!!! I guess my question is: How could they ALL be so dysfunctional? You would think that the law of averages would kick in and ONE of them would be clear and efficient. But methinks I dream.
  10. Ronscarpa, So on one day news comes out that Talabani has set the seating of Parliament for Thursday June 10th. Then on the next day he sends a letter to all winning lists asking them what a good date would be? These guys are something.
  11. Angelquest, They won't even seat parliament until Thursday June 10th, so I'm afraid the first Sunday it could RV would be June 13th.
  12. Hey Chief, I have half my money in Warka, can you translate all this for me? What do you think the ramifications will be? Thanks, Bahtman
  13. I don't care one way or the other, but there are 2 offices in Fort Lauderdale. One on West Oakland Park Blvd. One on 17th Street.
  14. Adam, You made mention of the possible shipping of small denoms out of country. What would be the point? A 25000 note gets you 2500 one hundred dinar notes, yes? So why bother? The larger notes from outside Iraq would be coming back anyway to Federal Reserve in USA for credit. Can you help me understand your chat above?
  15. Leggman, No disrespect, but the article is talking about the KUWAITI dinar, not the Iraqi dinar.
  16. Nathan, It is my understanding that the coaliton of Maliki's State of law and the Iraqi National does not yet have a name or a leader. In other words, it is all talk to this point. My understanding also is, if parliament is seated before they choose a name and a leader, then that coalition is not in fact formed. Allawi would then have the largest block and have first chance to form the government. Sounds good except that nobody seems capable of reaching the required 163 seats. Will this ever end?
  17. Freek, Take the time to read through the posts on this link and you will feel much better about your situation: One other note to realize: most of the currency "in circulation" is inside the country of Iraq. It costs almost nothing to replace this currency. They are trading paper for paper. With regards to the currency held by investors, of course, it has to be dealt with. The link that I provided will explain how that will happen.
  18. They won't put the dinar out on the open market first. They would lose total control of the process. It will come out around a buck and most of the currency outside the country will be drawn in. When that stabilizes, then they will let it go to forex. At least, that's my opinion.
  19. Clay210, Circulated currency is worth less when cashed in. Hence you will notice the 2 different rates they have on most dinar sites for purchasing them from you. Like on DinarTrade, they will pay $740 for circulated per million, but $880 for uncirculated per million
  20. Graham, If you're going to correct someone, try to be right! $2500 is the correct answer. How do you come up with $2550 from $.10 times 25000 Just move the decimal bunky!!!
  21. Seabee1972, If 7 is a lucky number and Mickey Mantle knows that it is, then how about 7th month, 7th day?
  22. Just a case of dyslexia. Interchanging the 8 and the 9. Should read 89 seats.
  23. Isn't it always right before the weekend when we get these rumors?
  24. Why would these guys pick THIS article that has been republished 100 times and the date changes everyday and all of a sudden put their entire faith in it? If anyone had any doubts about their credibility, they shouldn't have those doubts anymore!
  25. Thanks Carla, They certainly ARE politicians, aren't they? There must be some international school of politician speak.
