  1. They need loans to keep the country a float. There's so much corruption and no industry except oil exports to bring in any revenue.
  2. Don't you know the govt officials have built these wells/refineries to line their pockets with the money they scimmed/stold from the peoples trough. They should be water boarded in public and their plunder returned to the public coffers.
  3. No doubt some govt officials have been cashing in for themselves for years with their own outlaw refineries and wells. Lord knows they skim enough money to afford to do that. Shut em down and keep it away from the criminals in the govt who would steal it. Then divert that oil and money to the govt to do some good for their people like building sorely needed infrastructure and paving the way for more industry and jobs.
  4. At current prices oil output can't even cover the budget. Doesn't matter if oil doubles. It wont pay the bills. In order to rv they need to substantially reduce the currency supply. Is this being done? I hope so. Would love to see the rv.
  5. In the last 7yrs nothing ever really changes. A constant barrage of articles to read but never any movement. Iraq is a country of fraudulent greedy politicians who don't want things to change. And they haven't and my not. My two cents. IMHO
  6. I sure hope so. I agree with Trump. The US should have taken their oil to pay for the war then turned it back to them after the war. Why the US govt taxed it's citizens to pay for the war is criminal as far as I'm concerned. Just like the 2008 crash bailout by taxpayers, it's criminal. Once things are back on track an RV would be great. I just hope they RV and don't do what historically has been done around the world and knock zeros off the bills or implement entirely new currency. An RV would require them to get rid of so much dinar in order to afford to do it. The CBI numbers still don't show they are reducing the number of bills out there though. Still hoping for the best.
  7. The current horrific conditions have meant 70% of Iraqi people lack access to clean water, 80% lack proper sanitation leading to cholera epidemics and unemployment is over 50% for those under 30 years old. Power supplies from the national grid often don’t exceed five hours per day. How many Trillions of dollars did we spend on this war and Iraq is still in this kind of shape????? We gave companies Billions who built many things in Iraq but they still don't have clean water, sanitation or power!!!!!! Unbelievable!!!! Just plain idiotic and corrupt on their side as well as ours.
  8. Have to wonder why they aren't selling the gas to places like Japan that pay very high prices for natgas.
  9. At a budget of $100B, industry at 14% would be $14B. That's a lot of rugs. lol
  10. This is an alarming article. Not good news. They have gone through half of their reserves. To make matters worse oil prices are dropping again.
  11. Some dinar dealers have been arrested and charges brought. Read up.
  12. Obummer made a big mistake. We should have stayed there and taken over their oil to pay back American taxpayers. Now Iraq is in crisis mode again.
  13. Trump is right. We absolutely should have taken their oil as payment. Our stupid previous President's scr*wed the US citizens by not recovering the tremendous money spent on that sad, horrendous boondoogle. I hope BO makes it to his grave soon and rots in hell. nuff said They say the morale in the Pentagon has improved 1000% because of the improvements there just since Trump has taken office.
  14. Clinton, Bush, Obummer let that happen. Maybe Trump will let Iran pay to rebuild Iraq then kick them out and take it back.
  15. You are so right. Iraq is broke and needs assistance from other countries to help feed their people. Certainly not the sign of a country able to pay for an rv is it.
  16. Sorry, wasn't talking about lower denoms. Was saying the 5k, 10k, 25k notes all have the same security features embedded in them. If someone is counterfeiting them it will be caught.
  17. Would be good if the Iraqi govt was saying this instead of some academia economist. If he is real and has influence maybe he can get the ball rolling within the govt to convince banks/commerce/govt to demand dealing in dinar instead of dollars. I could not get the link at the bottom of the article to work. By the way who is walkingstick? A guru???? I sure hope he didn't just make this article up to get us excited because it sure makes sense that if Iraq could institute this policy it would go a long way to strenghten the dinar.
  18. I read the 5k, 10k and 25k notes all have the same anti counterfeiting features incorporated into them. It is probably some guy in his basement with a good copier machine running a few off and trying to pass them.
  19. Yes but remember if they RD'd(printed a new curency) on par with the dollar the quantity of new dinar issued would be substantially less than the existing dinar. So no real difference in total supply in dollar amount. In other words, you end up with fewer dinar at a dollar and the old number of bills you started with.at .00086. No gain in the bank account. Remember RD means not changing the amount of dollar equivalents you had to start with. Likewise an RV means reducing the amount of currency supply dramatically so net net no increase in the ol bank account either. Not what anyone in it for a gain from an RV is looking for.
  20. Printing more currency and altering the exchange rate are two entirely different things.
