  1. Yes it is a nice read. In a fantasy world where "everyone" would stop complaining that might work. The problem with today is that the "have nots" will do as you say and the "haves" will continue to plot to take everything. They want the "have nots" to relax, forget their troubles and not complain. Meanwhile, crooked politicicians and greedy money people continue pushing this country down a path soon to be a narrow road with no side streets. By the time the "have nots" wake from their no complaining it will be to late. Good complaining gets things changed. The "haves" want the "have nots" to work hard, take care of their families and personal life so they stay busy and don't see the man behind the curtain. We get complacent and then complain because some one ran our country into the ground. Do you realize what would happen if people stopped complaining for 3 weeks? I would bet this country would cease to exist on a "Republic" level. If we all stopped writing, e-mailing and calling our representitives at the federal, state and local level they would run rampant thinking what they were doing was ok. I find myself often so busy taking care of my little world that when I poke my head out from under my dirt pile I don't believe what I see or hear. Americans have always complained. It is the driving force that gets change done. When someone or a group of someones complain and don't get the change they want the do something to effect the change. Some good and not so good. I fear we are heading down the not so good path. I am not quick witted and don't have fast responses for a debate. If you disagree with me neg it. If you agree with me plus it. Jhmo
  2. I admit that my forum pic isn't really me. I am not an alien robot in a car disguise. My wife thinks I am an alien but that is another story.
  3. Or rotary dial phones. To this day people still say "dial the number".
  4. What an insult to the hard working apprentices who are learning a trade.
  5. He has the right to express his view and with that right come the responsibility to except the results he gets for doing it.
  6. I am curious as to how many people who loved Charlton Heston as an actor and former five-term president of the National Rifle Association will show their dis-approval of Jim Careys action through boycotting him or his products? This people base not only includes gun enthusiasts but also movie patrons as well.
  7. Thats funny. Because of that possibility my wife keeps me stocked with reloading supplies. She would rathy have me home than roaming the streets for ammo.
  8. Iownay83, http://stores.recycl...M193/Detail.bok Too rich for my blood but thanks for the tip.
  9. After the Tomcat my 2 next favorite planes are the F-4 Phantom (Rhino) and the B-52 Statofortress (Big Ugly Fat Fellow) or BUFF. I would watch the F-14's do touch and goes at Mirimar and the F-4 and B-52 do touch and goes with the tankers at March AFB. I still go to the air museum and look at them. Thanks for everyones service and stories.
  10. It was a joke folks incase some of you missed it. You always make sure that whoever is with you is slower than you. Use whatever means available to achieve it. Take a breath, laugh a little and chill.
  11. Couple of points. Assuming a few things here. 1. You have the room. 2. You have the wind. Only if you relly need the extra charging capacity. Good for night charging. 3. You have protected area big enough for enough batteries to do the job. 4. You can get past any red tape. If you are good on all those points after you are up and running simply throw your main breaker and you become "off grid". I know in California there is not a connection fee from So Cal Edison so if your not using electricity you will get a paper bill but not owe anything. Back to the leasing part. If you have the system sized properly you build credits during the winter, spring and fall and use those credits during the summer. I will pay only the lease amount to the solar company. If you move, the person buying your house should qualify for the lease. Other way is to add the price of Solar to the house. Buyer gets house and you in turn buy out lease. Win for the new owner and win for the seller. The first few months may have double bills but nothing like you have without the solar.
  12. The ultimate system would be wind, solar and battery backup. If you have the land, wind and money to do all of these then you truly can go off grid. If you have these things then by all means don't pay the electric company and demand to be unhooked from the system. They can't force you to use the service.
  13. ALL politicians should me made to watch this. Of course the same ones in the video would be smirking and smiling in defiance of the concepts and facts presented.
  14. She "represents" my home state. I can't fathom the type of people that continuosly vote her, Feinstein and Boxer in. All three have helped turn this state into a cesspool of politics. After the RV I am taking the whole whole family out of Dodge and going some place that believes in conservative values.
  15. Yes on the credit building. When it hits $300 dollars worth they send a check. I believe it is based on the lowest wholesale price of electricity.
  16. Got the wireing done and when the system was tested the meter showed going backwards. The wireless meter I have showed a -3.47 KW and it was around 4:00 pm so at mid-day it should be more. The installer asked if I wanted it left on and I said sure. I am going to see what it reads at about 10:00 am. Nice to see a negative number.
  17. Well, all 21 panels are up. Inverter is installed inside the garage. Now I am waiting for the high voltage guys(120v-240v)to come out and pull the wire from the panel to inverter. Then pull wire from DC pull box to inverter. After that comes the Inspector and after that Edison gives their final blessing and the switch gets flipped. I will keep you all posted.
  18. The meter we have(Smart meter) will wind back wards. What electricity I don't use spins the meter back and after a certain amount of kilowatts Edison pays back a credit. I have it figured that during the off seasons(lower sun exposures) and less electrical use I will build enough credit on the meter that when summer rolls around I will be able to keep momma and the girls happy without being a (pardon the expression) Watt nazi. BIGSKY1 No, I don't have a battery bank so I am dependent on the grid to keep my AC side hot to keep the PV array active. I will have 21-327 watt panels for 6.87 kw. The company is Smart Energy USA Phone:951-273-9595 Please give them my E-mail as a reference. If you need it PM me for it and I will give it to you. Neal
  19. Gettin Solar installed today. Soon to be bill free from Edison. Just thought I would tell ya.
  20. I don't blame them. I would leave also if not for a job and family.
  21. There are a few members on here that would gladly let them test drones over their property. If I was the FAA, and wanted the drones back in a useable condition, I would pass on the offer.
  22. If that was the case, anyone who passes gas could be held accountable with a fine.
