For me personally, any article in which they do not say, "We have revalued our currency." is disappointing to me. I believe one day very soon, I will not be disappointed.

I think we need a camel dating service ad at the top of DV instead of the lousy ones we have now. Apparently camel dating is in high demand. No more Russian girls! We want CAMELS!

To me it says they will be finished with the whole process by 2013. They have said all along it would take a couple of years to implement, right? I still believe it will RV first, then they will start phasing the large bills out. Once they RV, people will be standing in line to get rid of their large bills. Literally. Sounds like a great way to get those large bills out of circulation to me.

When will Iraq get tired of saying the same things over and over? They change little things here and there but it is still basically the same thing. I am not slamming your work in bringing these over to us, just Iraq for wasting news space. Thanks for all the articles you have been giving us BondLady. I really do appreciate them! My sister and brother-in-law live in Europe. When his country was about to enter into the EU, all of their currency they had in their bank account was going to be converted into Euros. They tried to educate their people by telling them how much more money it would give them and how much better it would be for them. It ended up looking like much less than what they had in their own currency and until the public got used to the new currency, they were going to have a hard time trying to make purchases. The Euro was a much lower denom than what they were used to before, although they were telling everyone it was worth the same. When they were having it hard financially, we would wire them money so a week before they were to enter the EU, they asked us to wire the money before it changed to Euro because they felt it was worth much more to them. (1300 Kuna = 1 Euro) Now that could be much different than the IQD change but that is the same way I see it happening for Iraq. There are many American investors as well as investors from other countries that have Warka accounts. They open the accounts with US dollars then convert it to IQD. If it is converted to say, one million dinar, are they going to tell them their dinar is now worth only one hundred thousand dinar because they have taken three zeros off? Or is it still going to be worth one million dinar? Because they didn't deposit physical currency, they would have no way of knowing who has old currency and who has new currency. I am not an argumentative person. I am simply trying to understand this situation so any explanations I can get from this, I would really appreciate.

This may be an older post but my husband is so confused about everything going on that he refuses to read any more about the dinar or Iraq. I'm going to have him read this and see if it helps clarify a few things for him. Thanks for bringing this one back up for us that haven't seen it.

I take everything with a grain of salt. Some people's rumors I need a barrel of salt for but from you, not so much. Thanks for posting this. So many times people are slammed for posting rumors when, in fact, others don't have to read them at all. If people hate rumors so much, why are they still reading them? I like that little spark of hope I get, even when I know it might not be true.

The only difference I see is that instead of .05 cents, it has gone to $5.25. Apparently, they figured out they could get away with it so they just keep going higher and higher. Sad.
