  1. Not at all...and who knows how many places it's passed thru? I'm just implying my knowledege of those languages is more limited, but they would use similar script. Arabic, like any other language, can be extremely difficult to read when hand written. Standardized fonts are so much easier!
  2. The blue ink is obviously just scribbles. I do admit it's been quite a while since I've read or written anything in Arabic, but... IMHO, the black ink looks more like someone trying to 'fake' something in Arabic to me. If it's Farsi or Urdu...I have no clue.
  3. What a coincidence...I'm in Texas too! Glad to add another one to the mix. I'll bet we have a lot of folks here who are either native born or "got here as quick as they could". <vbg>
  4. If members post information in Dinar Rumors...it's presumed to be read, interpreted and acted upon as a rumor*. *a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts
  5. This is first 'Intel Motel' I don't mind checking into. Just gonna kick back, relax, say a prayer for all involved and see how this plays out. Thanks for the post!
  6. There is just something so hauntingly familiar about this, but just can't...oh wait. Randomly insert/substitute the word 'Nigeria' in some of the paragraphs and that will be what it reminds me of.
  7. It just occurred to me that I may have the wrong perspective on the alleged ‘intel’ that’s already knee deep and flying from all directions. Since we should be taking all this BS with a grain of salt, maybe they’re actually pumping sales or investments in salt mining companies...
  8. You're exactly right...and looking at the screen through the bottom of that amber bottle.
  9. Does the person posting that info [on the forex site] think readers would actually presume Dr Sinan has nothing better to do than go to there, become a member and post somewhat obscure messages/opinions regarding the IQD? Ahlan wa Sahlan RV! Oops, I forgot to say min fadlach wa shukran! LOL
  10. What other 'vacation' are you referring to from 30 Aug to 4 Sep?
  11. For whatever it may be worth...ashura is the number 10 in Arabic.
  12. Recalling various 'debates' regarding the phrase 'nuff said (person, place or thing?), I just ran across this 1985 article from Cecil Adams' column 'The Straight Dope' and thought I'd slap a partial excerpt from it here. Dear Cecil: I don't know the engineering of this, but isn't it the case that punching holes in strip metal increases its strength? I seem to remember from my model carmaking days that the holes in dragster frames, in addition to reducing weight, increased the frame's rigidity. Theory #2: Can one melt and reuse the punched-out slugs, thus saving about one-quarter the raw materials cost per unit, which, multiplied by the krillions of plugs made each day, would result in substantial savings? Just a thought. — Bob M., Riverside, Illinois Cecil replies: Both of your "thoughts," Bob, reduced my engineer buddy to hysterics. 'Nuff said. — Cecil Adams Hmmm, wonder if Cecil got it from Okie...or was it the other way around? LOL
  13. Maybe they were referring to Mars appearing to be in retrograde.
  14. I was surprised to find that the FB discussion was in Malaysian instead of Arabic, since it designates the Emirates. So I checked further and found the following: http://en.wikipedia....lantanese_dinar No pics, but does give some background info. Additionally, in the rectangle underneath the mosque, it seemed odd that it would literally translate to: "dinar 2" with the word dinar in Arabic and a western numerical 2. I could not see any dates on it, but they could be covered up and not visible.
  15. Many place so much importance on the number of posts a member has accumulated, but if we were to honestly break the numbers down person by person and what they have actually 'posted', things would look a lot different. If we counted only the newsworthy posts and removed all the countless repetitive, singular response posts from our stats such as the following: "lol" "uh-huh" "ha ha" "yeah, bro" "wtf?" "what she said" "I hear ya" "pumper!" "bs"" "that sux" "gimme a break" "go rv!" Then we'd have a more accurate picture of true, noteworthy contributions and not a bunch of artificially inflated stats that many presume verifies one as a reliable 'non-pumper'.
  16. Hey! The ladies are rockin' this too, ya know...but we seem to be a lot less edgy than the guys. Maybe it's because the men's RV 'time of the month' is late again.
  17. I may be off the mark here, but when I read the title 'Why so many Iraqi women kill themselves?' in the Iraq & Dinar Related News section..I just automatically presumed the article would not be in reference to the dinar...unless the women are dying in direct relationship to the delay in an RV/RI. But from the gist of so many posts; it would seem a lot of people here would declare the delay is certainly "killing them". I've also noticed it's making a lot of otherwise intelligent, nice folks quite edgy over the least little thing...
  18. Allow me to preface this by saying I am not a feminist, but I am someone who cannot tolerate inequality or prejudice in any form directed to either gender or any group of people. From my personal experiences (in the ME and elsewhere on this planet), I feel it truly does involve education. Tradition can be a wonderful thing if it does not degrade, harm or hold someone back from a fulfilling life...or that individual's right to choose what would be fulfilling for them. Education is the key to bring a centuries old mentality forward to this place in time. From my involvement with dear friends, acquaintainces, business associates and casual conversations with strangers from or in the ME...the higher the level of education, the more enlightened they are in their attitude and respect for women. However, there will always be those who resent progress and any change in their lives that would usurp what little power they weld, even if it is only the women in their family. And they will continue to use tradition and religion to perpetuate that mentality. Unfortunately, the ME in general is not going to suddenly wake up one morning and think, "w'allah! Why have we treated our cherished women like this?" So if you happen to be traveling to some of the more unenlightened places in the ME, when your plane touches down on the tarmac...go ahead and set your wateches back 300 years.
  19. If the 5/3 banks (or any other banks) allege the IQD scenario [purchase for future exchange profit] is a scam...what is their legal liability of selling of them in quantities greater than a traveler would spend on an average vacation or typical business trip to Iraq?
  20. LOL! You have nooo idea. I've lived around 'em and partied with 'em. You should see them throw off the burqas not only in privacy, but immediately after we would hit London or Paris airports. The stories I could tell...
  21. Yes, businesses do continue to operate during Ramadan. However, when it comes to government offices, it is anything but "business as usual". The everyday mañana mentality, which is translated in the ME as 'Inshallah' (if and/or when G-d wills it) is stretched to the max during Ramadan. Government offices do operate, but with reduced hours and much less is accomplished at this time. So I re-state the obvious from my previous post: unless they are content to allow everything they have worked so hard to accomplish stagnate for an additional 30 days or more...I am hoping this will be the week to remember.
  22. Nearly wet my pants this afternoon... Driving home from work, I take the same route and pass by my Chase Bank each day. This afternoon around 2:45 CDT; I have never, ever seen the parking lot so jam packed full of vehicles. I was stopped at a light so could observe countless others circling to find a parking place. It's no stretch of anyone's imagination as to what hit me like a bolt of lightning. And just like any one of you...I lead-footed it home and found it was IQD 'business as usual'. I have now decided to carry a bottle of aspirin in my purse just in case...and some of you folks may consider it also! Would a MOD kindly remove this? I was editing and it duplicated the post...my apologies.
