  2. My best guess is you need to renew your online access. My Warka account has online access and expires annually. It must be renewed and a fee paid. You may have to sign a new authorization letter allowing them to remove the fee amount from the account like you did when you first set up the online access (if that is the problem). BTW ... Thanks for the reminder, mine will expire in January and I need to renew as well.
  3. Just got back from Jamaica myself... but I did not spend two weeks there. Gud times are callen for yu Mon! In five years, maybe I will be in the same boat, maybe I will have turned a profit by then, maybe I will be out of it by then. It is tough to say, I'm not sure at this point what my plans are with this investment. Glad to hear you returned from the Caribbean refreshed and clear headed! See you dare next year mon!
  4. Well enjoy your last week my friend, take a jar of soil with you when you leave. Come back as soon as you can!
  5. My personal definition is this... Greed - When ambition to acquire more of something becomes unethical by denying others the same opportunity to acquire gains themselves. In other words, there is nothing wrong with gaining all the wealth or items you want. When your gains deny other people opportunity, then you stepped into "greed".
  6. Looks like this old rumor is making the rounds again. Every year or two I get a forwarded email from someone that says we are only 30 days from having cell phone numbers go public. I regretted putting my home phone on the "do not call list". I rarely got a sales call, just one every couple of months before I added my home phone to the list. I don't know for certain that the "do not call" list has anything to with this or if it is only a coincidence... but it seems after I put my home phone on the list I started getting a lot of "survey" calls.
  7. No special executive order or law is needed to hold IQD. Iraq sell IQD Internationally at the CBI auctions. They sell the IQD internationally, that means they will honor its value internationally.
  8. They have shut down for a few days to perform system upgrades numerous times this year. I would not want anyone to get their hopes up based on that alone.
  9. 1. I seriously doubt Dr. Shabibi reads DV looking for ideas to guide the economic policies of Iraq. 2. The people you call "lobsters" are people that are merely stating what are in the CBI press releases. The CBI does not get their ideas from "lobsters", the "lobsters" get their understanding of the RD from the CBI news releases.
  10. Its done again? How many times can the IQD RV before the CBI decides to increase the exchange rate?
  11. Wow... I haven't thought about Crash on 101 KLOL in a long time ! Lol!
  12. And people like hearing lies if the lie is "POSITIVE" and the message of the lie is what they want to hear. Hearing what they want to hear is much more important than hearing the truth. The listner tell themselves that intel guy will be right someday. If you like the information, then you assign it hope. If you don't like the information, then of just say the word "SMOKE" and it will no longer be considered.
  13. Reducing 30 Trillion iQD down to 30 Billion IQD 30,000,000,000,000 down to 30,000,000,000 Shabibi explaining the end result of lifting three zeros.
  14. "... ... She's Sumaisem (citizen) that he is supposed to drop the price to equal the dollar more than the Iraqi dinar after deleting three zeros from the currency and thus we have achieved two goals of this procedure, first raise the value of the dinar against the dollar and the second is the restructuring of the Iraqi currency. ... It looks to me that Iraq will delete the zeros from the IQD before they change the value of it.
  15. Last week I read an article here on DV that gave me the impression 30 Trillion dinar exists. One quote from the article was "The Central Bank of Iraq completing the preparation of a plan to replace the current banknotes after the cancellation of three zeros, and include 30 trillion dinars (26 billion dollars), is the value of expected cash bloc, stressing that the timing will be determined by the government and parliament, Iraqi." and "And as for the size of the money supply or the size of cash flow by more than 30 trillion Iraqi dinars, equivalent to $ 26 billion, noting that the system of cash transactions in Iraq, after 2003, it became Mdolra, any market deal dinar and the dollar both, and this means a mass of cash circulating in the market but in foreign currency. He continued favor and put in numbered accounts that the Iraqi currency or monetary bloc total traded home and that would be replaced after the cancellation of zeros will be in the range of 30 trillion dinars, but its value against foreign currencies would remain fixed .. This means that the Iraqi dinar exchange rate now would be equivalent to 1200 dinar per one dollar." http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/79589-raise-zeros-from-dinar-and-currency-exchange/page__p__619746__fromsearch__1entry619746 When the article said "And as for the size of the money supply or the size of cash flow by more than 30 trillion Iraqi dinars " I was a little surprised. Until I read this article I was under the impression that 20 Trillion Dinar was out there. I dunno... but that was my impression based on the article.
  16. Maynard and DoD... Thank you for this information, it is exactly what I was looking for. After all, getting the money back after you are satisfied with your investment return is the most important step.
  17. Thank you Maynard , Frank61, 82Corp., and those others that responded with tips. I hope that more information on this is given. I have a Warka account, I also have a Citi Bank account. I have online banking to both, and I do see how to log onto the Citi bank account and wire money out (this would include sending to my Warka account). What I do not know is how to wire my Warka account money back to Citi bank (or anywhere else). As things are now, it takes a week to hear back from Warka when I have a question. It took a month to receive my user name and password. After the RV, they will be much busier than they are today, so I am looking to have a plan now, and know what to do. I hope to find some guidance and some ideas on this. Thanks
  18. I am a capitalist, and an investor... I love making money. Maybe it's the smell of the wet ink when it's fresh off the printer.
  19. Robear: I posted this earlier on another Warka thread. Going over a week waiting for a response to an email is the norm in my personal experience. Here is my earlier post: I went to the warka website and followed the instructions to open an account and emailed in the documents they requsted in the instructions. Five weeks later I received an email from Mr Issa, but the email was blank. I replied to it saying the email was blank and about four or five days later he wrote me again with my account information. I took the email to my bank to wire the funds, but the bank did not understand the instructions, so I emailed Mr Issa the question the bank had. About nine days later I received a reply from a different customer service represenative. After I made the wire, I sent an email to Mr Issa stating I wired the money to my Warka USD account and requested they move it to my Warka IQD account. The next week I got the response from another warka rep. I then sent that rep a request for my online user name and password on January 28th, and today at 3:00 am I got the instructions on how to obtain it. They will write back.... but it takes awhile. It has been a long process in my experiance.
  20. Yes... that is normal, he will answer but give him a day or even a week or so to answer. Here is a summery of my experience with warka respnse times... Five weeks later I received an email from Mr Issa, but the email was blank. I replied to it saying the email was blank and about four or five days later he wrote me again with my account information. 21. I found an article released today titled :Legislature calls on Parliament not to pass new budget exceeding 78 trillion January 9, 2011 - 12:55:18 http://en.aswataliraq.info/?p=140430 I dont know if it is the article mentioned in the chat or not. It does not mention billions of IQD, only billions of USD. It still lists the IQD in the Trillions... so I am not sure if this is the article referred to. Anyone have a better link?
  22. I make no prediction here, but this does remind me of something. Iraq`s Ministry of Planning (MOP) has on its website an article called The Exchange Rate of Foreign Currency in Economic Feasibility Studies. In it, it lists an official exchange rate, and an amended exchange rates. Now these rates are not the final word, they are recommendations as part of the feasibility study. The amended exchange rate is $1.13 (1.134) and would be in place three years before switching to the official exchange rate. The quote from the article is ``Estimate the amended exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar to be used in technical and economical feasibility studies and for (1.134) dollar per dinar. This price should be approved for 3 years until re-appreciation by the competent authorities." The official rate is $3.21 (3.208) and the quote from the article is.. ``It is demonstrated in this context to call for assessing the dinar for less than (3.208) dollar (official exchange rate) when assessing project outputs and inputs of traded goods of exports, substitute imports and imports... etc. `` The MOP article is here http://www.mop.gov.iq/mop/index.jsp?sid=1&id=308&pid=295&lng=en Seeing the rate mentioned made me think of that article...... just sayin`
  23. How is this done through Citibank? I contacted one and they had not heard of this.
  24. Those were some of my favorite lines. Of course I do not know if they are all accurate, but if they are, that is certainly a nice summery of where we are.
