  2. Not that anyone appointed you the forum word police or anything like that (or did they...?), but you may want to consider the fact that there are many here of other nationalities who are not of English language and use online translators to communicate here. Perhaps you might care to help them rather than chastise them? Would you consider your above comment helpful? or friendly? or even necessary?

  3. Link and info taken from another site: http://www.babnews.com/inp/view.asp?ID=22746 In 30/05/2010 07:00 AM GMT BAGHDAD (world): A source close to the negotiations to form a government, that things are moving towards the Shiite parties to withdraw the nomination of Nuri al-Maliki and Adel Abdul Mahdi as prime minister at one time, and provide alternatives them Comerahi settlement, saying that there is a chance for the success of this scenario because of divisions began «mount» within the Dawa Party and a coalition of state law. This information coincides with a statement by al-Maliki after a meeting with the great authority Ali al-Sistani yesterday, that «the only candidate of the electoral list to head the government». Speaking source familiar with the «world» on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release, saying that the period of stagnation and apathy among a coalition of law and the National Coalition «moved recently, intensifying contacts between the negotiators from both sides through the initiative of the Supreme Council, which proposed to withdraw the nomination, Vice President of the Republic Adel Abdul-Mahdi return for the withdrawal Maliki's nomination for prime minister ». The source did not comment over the possibility of accepting this scenario from the Dawa Party, is currently stuck with the idea of Maliki's nomination, but said they would have a coalition of law to provide an alternative candidate for the owners during the coming period «return for an alternative candidate to Abdul Mahdi posed by the National Coalition». He said «that what helps the success of this scenario is a lot of problems began to mount within Maliki's bloc». And speak the source «an unannounced visit by the leader of the Dawa Party, Ali al-Adeeb reference to Sistani in Najaf, the purpose of the request for support for the idea of his candidacy substitute for Maliki». He said that the writer «very angry because of his commitment to run al-Maliki despite widespread opposition from other parties, therefore, where the writer believes that the prime minister's position could lead to the loss of the Dawa Party, the government finally». Do not stop at the «line writer of the Dawa Party», but the problem is emerging with the trend of independent thinking, which strongly put names such as Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Safa al-Din Comerahi net settlement by the same source. He adds that the independent bloc within the rule of law «is at odds with more of a personal-Maliki as a group, led by Khalid al-Attiyah on many issues, the relatively weaker bargaining position of Maliki's bloc». He says that internal differences amounted to «end the chaos that is still out of control, Sami military upon which al-Maliki often in coordination with some of the parties, his recent confrontation with Tariq Najim Director Maliki's office, the murky atmosphere of the Interior and caused the delay a lot of initiatives and contacts». The source says that the office manager Tarek Najm «accounts for the big issues and one is allowed to act alone in this framework, what irritates many influential persons in a cluster state of law, without being able to al-Maliki to settle those differences». The source believes that Maliki «began to think seriously to keep the possible gains from the victory in the elections after it became threatened by loss of its strengths, following strong opposition from the Sadrists in particular, to renew his mandate, but he is still puzzled about the alternative, and on the guarantees for its future». And the failure of parties intertwined, «the rule of law and national» after about 25 days on their declaration, signed a preliminary agreement to create a large block by the nomination of the Prime Minister, in compliance at the «committee of wise men» resolved is the candidate for this office, and after an interview Maliki scenario that could turn to if rejected by the Shiites , represented by the alliance with the Iraqi List led by Iyad Allawi, said sources familiar with earlier, Prime Minister outgoing «face hugely if he goes to Allawi,» and he will find himself lost «dozens of House winners of the bloc, led by the Dawa Party, the organization Iraq and the mass independent », although an ally of the owners scoffed at that possibility and promise« project some are trying to achieve, but would sustain a failure because Maliki's bloc is the most cohesive among other parliamentary blocs ». After meeting with the certification-Sistani in Najaf on Saturday, Maliki said he was the only electoral candidate list to head the government and efforts between the list and a list of ongoing Iraqi National Coalition for the formation of the largest parliamentary bloc, which he described as the right to form a government.

  4. I usually only read and comment every now and then but I found this to be interesting!!! One of my close friends (55 year old) and I have lunch once a week and last week we discussed the Iraq Dinar. He went to TD Bank in Fort Lauderdale, FL to inquire about the Iraq Dinar. The short version of what happen is basically this. The branch manager leaned over and said..."This is not the bank talking...it is me...the dinar is getting ready to go up very soon....then again insisted it was just him talking and had nothing to do with the bank but again insisted it was ready to go up. My friend has known this bank manager for a while and my friend is a very pure nice person. Hard to find someone like this. Anyway, i just wanted to pass that along...not that it means anything except someone is very optomistic or really does know something??? who knows???. My friend was absolutely shocked that it happened and called me right away. He bought only 2 million dinars. My personal opinion is that it will RV on July 1st, 2010 due to Iraq having clean books. It is coming and oh yeah....I think after following this since early 2004 and reading and knowing business like I do....the rate has to be atleast .80 to $1.20 because of the Arab nations average and the desperate need for Iraq to fix their people's poverty problem. Being able to have a currency rate that is comparable to the USA is extremely important for Iraq to handle international business and trade in the long run. It is vital to their country's success! That is why it makes sense and there is a ton of pressure to make it happen now. I think the July 26 deadline date that Sonny1 stated is accurate. Good Luck everyone and work hard as if it didn't matter!!! Chris God Bless America and the Soldiers who defend our right to breath FREE air!!!

  6. Just another thought - worth what you are paying for it - LOL. The comment about the statement that "branch manager does not have that type of info, sorry but they don't- no way no how" Well here is something to consider - Who is that branch manager related to? Who does that branch manager go to church with? Who is that branch manager's in-laws? People do not live in a vacuum. I am a perfect case-in-point. In the grand scheme of things I am your "average person", but because of work I used to do in California and Aspen, Colorado - I know MANY celebrities, many very wealthy people, and the whole "six degrees of separation" means I have access to many people in high places. BUT if you just look at what I do in my day job - clinical research at a large cancer center - then you could easily assume there is no way I could know some of the people I know. Be careful with blanket assumptions - people have diverse lives, marry into well connected families, have friends who married into or come from wealth families. One simply cannot know WHO someone else knows and what access to info they might have simply based on their job title. This does not mean that branch manager knows any more than the rest of us - but it is not beyond the realm of possibility. That is my 2 dinars worth. Peace!

The dinar was pegged at par with the British pound until 1959 when, without changing its value, the peg was switched to the United States dollar at the rate of 1 dinar = 2.8 dollars. By not following the devaluations of the U.S. currency in 1971 and 1973, the dinar rose to a value of US$3.3778, before a 5 percent devaluation reduced the value of the dinar to US$3.2169, a rate which remained until the Gulf War, although in late 1989, the black market rate was reported at five to six times higher (3 dinars for US$1) than the official rate.[2] After the Gulf War in 1991, and due to the economic blockade, the previously used Swiss printing technology was no longer available. A new, inferior quality notes issue was produced. The previous issue became known as the Swiss dinar and continued to circulate in the Kurdish region of Iraq. Due to excessive government printing of the new notes issue, the dinar devalued quickly, and in late 1995, US$1 was valued at 3,000 dinars. Following the deposition of Saddam Hussein in the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the Iraqi Governing Council and the Office for Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance began printing more Saddam dinar notes as a stopgap measure to maintain the money supply until new currency could be introduced. Between October 15, 2003 and January 15, 2004, the Coalition Provisional Authority issued new Iraqi dinar coins and notes, with the notes printed by De La Rue using modern anti-forgery techniques, to "create a single unified currency that is used throughout all of Iraq and will also make money more convenient to use in people’s everyday lives."[3] Old banknotes were exchanged for new at a one-to-one rate, except for the Swiss dinars, which were exchanged at a rate of 150 new dinars for one Swiss dinar. These new banknotes led to a new industry of selling the new Iraqi dinar to oversea investors who hoped to profit from Iraq's new currency when the economy improved. The provisional government of Iraq has made this legal, but the banknotes are exchanged at different rates by companies wanting to make profit. Due to the success of this program, though, Iraqi dinar has been widely counterfited. Although the value of the dinar appreciated following the introduction of the new banknotes from 4,000 dinars per U.S. dollar, at the time of their introduction, to a high of 980 dinars per dollar, it is now held at a "program" exchange rate, as specified by the International Monetary Fund,[citation needed] of 1170 dinars per US dollar at the Central Bank of Iraq. However, there is not yet a set international exchange rate and so international banks do not yet exchange Iraqi dinar. The exchange rate available on the streets of Iraq is around 1200 dinars per US dollar. For a wider history surrounding currency in the region, see The History of British Currency in the Middle East. [edit] Speculation On May 3, 2007, the IMF released a statement in relation to the international compact with Iraq, which has turned the tide in regards to speculation on the Iraq dinar. The contents of the article discuss changes made in Iraq on the economic front of how the Iraq government had eliminated fuel subsidies. The article also stated that the Central Bank of Iraq had raised interest rates in an attempt to allow a gradual appreciation of the dinar in an attempt to fight dollarization of the Iraq economy. Although there are claims of widespread optimism of some language used later in the press release among some dinar speculators, there have been no publicly released statements or analysis by any news sources or governments.[4] [edit] Redenomination According to a Reuters report on 11 Feb 2010, Iraq expects to redenominate its dinar currency by knocking three zeros off the nominal value of bank notes to facilitate currency transactions. Emerging from years of war and sanctions, Iraq is trying to revamp its economy and boost oil production with a raft of crude deals that may vault it to one of the world's top oil producers. 'The goal is to improve the payment and receiving system in the country and consequently to reform cash management,' said Mudher Kasim, a senior advisor at the central bank. Kasim said that the central bank expected to start rolling out new notes by the end of the year or the beginning of 2011. Iraq has 25 trillion dinars in circulation, officials say. An Iraqi cabinet committee ordered the change in 2007, but the central bank did not think it is appropriate until recently. [edit] Coins Coins were introduced in 1931 and 1932 in denominations of 1, 2, 4, 10, 20, 50 and 200 fils, with the 200 fils known as a rial. The 20, 50 and 200 fils were minted in silver. In 1953, silver 100 fils coins were introduced. Following the establishment of the Iraqi Republic, a new series of coins was introduced in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 fils, with the 25, 50 and 100 fils in silver until 1969. In 1970, 250 fils pieces were introduced, followed by 500 fils and 1 dinar coins in 1982. Coin production ceased after 1990. In 2004, new 25, 50, and 100 dinars coins were introduced. However, these coins proved to be unpopular & were withdrawn from circulation. The notes were printed in the United Kingdom. From 1931 to 1947, the banknotes were issued by the Iraqi currency board for the government of Iraq and banknotes were convertible into pound sterling. From 1947, the banknotes were issued by the National Bank of Iraq, then after 1954 by the Central Bank of Iraq. 100 dinars notes ceased production in the 1940s but otherwise, the same denominations were issued until 1978, when 25 dinars notes were introduced. In 1991, 50 and 100 dinars were introduced, followed by 250 dinars notes in 1995 and 10,000 dinars notes in 2002. Banknotes issued between 1990 and October 2003, along with a 25-dinars note issued in 1986, bear an idealized engraving of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. Following the 1991 Gulf War, Iraq's currency was printed both locally and in China, using poor grade wood pulp paper (rather than cotton or linen) and inferior quality lithography (some notes were reputedly printed on presses designed for printing newspapers). Counterfeited banknotes often appeared to be of better quality than real notes. Despite the collapse in the value of the Iraqi dinar, the highest denomination printed until 2002 was 250 dinars. In 2002, the Central Bank of Iraq issued a 10,000-dinars banknote to be used for "larger, and inter-bank transactions". This note was rarely accepted in practice due to fears of looting and counterfeiting. This forced people to carry around stacks of 250-dinars notes for everyday use. The other, smaller bills were so worthless that they largely fell into disuse. This situation meant that Iraq, for the most part, had only one denomination of banknote in wide circulation. Currency printed before the Gulf War was often called the Swiss dinar. It got its name from the Swiss printing technology that produced banknotes of a considerably higher quality than those later produced under the economic sanctions that were imposed after the first Gulf War. After a change-over period, this currency was disendorsed by the Iraqi government. However, this old currency still circulated in the Kurdish regions of Iraq until it was replaced with the new dinar after the second Gulf War. During this time the Swiss dinar retained its value, whilst the new currency consistently lost value at sometimes 30 percent per annum. In 2003, new banknotes were issued consisting of six denominations: 50, 250, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, and 25,000 dinar. The notes were similar in design to notes issued by the Central Bank of Iraq in the 1970s and 1980s. A 500 dinars note was issued a year later, in October 2004. In the Kurdish regions of Iraq, the 50 dinar note is not in circulation. According to a report on that was shown on 6 February 2010 on Al Iraqiya TV channel, the Central Bank of Iraq considered a plan to redenominate the Iraqi dinar in order to increase the strength level of the Iraqi currency, which will allow people to carry less paper money. Mudhhir Muhammad Salih, a member of a Central Bank advisory panel, told RFI that the plan is to remove the zeros from the currency and phase out the current banknotes late this year. This will be while the old banknotes will be gradually removed from circulation. He did not specify when the new notes would be issued. Both will be legal tender in Iraq until the old notes are completely withdrawn.” [edit] 1990-2002 Series 1990-2002 Series Image Value Main Color Description Obverse Reverse Obverse Reverse Quarter dinar front.jpg Quater dinar back.jpg 1/4 Dinar (1993) Green Palm trees Building Half Dinar front.jpg Half Dinar back.jpg 1/2 Dinar (1993) Violet Astrolabe Great Mosque of Samarra IraqP79-1Dinar-1992 f.jpg IraqP79-1Dinar-1992 b.jpg 1 Dinar (1992) Pink & Green A gold dinar coin Mustanseriah School Iraq 5 dinars Awers.JPG Iraq 5 dinars Rewers.JPG 5 Dinar (1992) Red Saddam Hussein Unkwon Soldier's tomb Iraq-10Dinars-1994-f.jpg Iraq-10Dinars-1994-b.jpg 10 Dinar (1992) blueish-green Saddam Hussein Winged beast 25 Dinar Horses front.jpg 25 Dinar Horses back.jpg 25 Dinar (1990) Green Horses Abbasid Palace Swiss Dinar front.jpg Swiss Dinar reverse.jpg 25 Dinar (1986) Brownish-Green Saddam Hussein & Horses Al-Shaheed Monument 25 Iraqi Dinars front.jpg 25 Iraqi dinars back .jpg 25 Dinar (2001) Green Saddam Hussein Ishtar gate Iraq 50 dinars Awers.JPG Iraq 50 dinars Rewers.JPG 50 Dinar (1991) Pink and Green Saddam Hussein Great Mosque of Samarra Iraq-50Dinars-1994-b.jpg Iraq-50Dinars-1994-a.jpg 50 Dinar (1994) Brown and Blue Saddam Hussein Saddam Bridge 100Dinars-AH1411-1991-donatedpm f.jpg 100Dinars-AH1411-1991-donatedpm b.jpg 100 Dinar (1991) Green & Purple Saddam Hussein Hands of Victory 100Dinars-AH1414-1994 f.jpg 100Dinars-AH1414-1994 b.jpg 100 Dinar (1994) Blue Saddam Hussein Baghdad Clock IraqPNew-100Dinars-2002-donatedmr f.jpg IraqPNew-100Dinars-2002-donatedmr b.jpg 100 Dinar (2002) Blue Saddam Hussein Old Houses IraqP85-250Dinars-AH1415-1995 b.jpg IraqP85-250Dinars-AH1415-1995 a.jpg 250 Dinar (1995) Violet Saddam Hussein Liberty Monument friese IraqPNew-250Dinars-2002-f.jpg IraqPNew-250Dinars-2002-b.jpg 250 Dinar (2002) Violet Saddam Hussein Dome of the Rock Old 10000 dinar front.jpg Old 10000 dinar back.jpg 10,000 Dinar (2002) Pink / Violet Saddam Hussein, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier [[Mustansiriya School, Arabic astrolabe [edit] Current banknotes 2003 Series Image Value Main Color Description Obverse Reverse Obverse Reverse 50 dinars 50 dinars 50 dinars Purple Grain silos at Basra Date palms 250 Iraqi dinar front.jpg 250 Iraqi dinar back.jpg 250 dinars Blue An astrolabe Spiral minaret of the Great Mosque of Samarra 500 Iraqi Dinar front.jpg 500 Iraqi Dinar back.jpg 500 dinars Bluish-Green Dûkan Dam on the Al Zab river Assyrian carving of a winged bull 1000 Iraqi Dinar front.jpg Iraq dinar front.jpg 1,000 dinars Brown A gold dinar coin Mustansiriya School , Baghdad 5000 Iraqi dinar front.jpg 5000 Iraqi dinar back.jpg 5,000 dinars Dark blue Gelî Ali Beg and its waterfall Desert fortress at Al-Ukhether 10000 dinars 10000 Iraqi Dinar back.jpg 10,000 dinars Green Abu Ali Hasan Ibn al-Haitham Hadba Minaret at the Great Nurid Mosque, Mosul 25000 Iraqi dinar front.jpg Iraq Dinar 25000 front.jpg 25,000 dinars Red A Kurdish farmer holding a sheaf of wheat Carving of the Code of King Hammurabi

  9. A reminder for Memorial Day MAY GOD BLESS THIS AIRLINE CAPTAIN: He writes: My lead flight attendant came to me and said, "We have an H.R. on this flight." (H.R. stands for human remains.) "Are they military?" I asked. 'Yes', she said. 'Is there an escort?' I asked. 'Yes, I already assigned him a seat'. 'Would you please tell him to come to the flight deck. You can board him early," I said.. A short while later, a young army sergeant entered the flight deck. He was the image of the perfectly dressed soldier. He introduced himself and I asked him about his soldier. The escorts of these fallen soldiers talk about them as if they are still alive and still with us. 'My soldier is on his way back to Virginia ,' he said. He proceeded to answer my questions, but offered no words. I asked him if there was anything I could do for him and he said no. I told him that he had the toughest job in the military and that I appreciated the work that he does for the families of our fallen soldiers. The first officer and I got up out of our seats to shake his hand. He left the flight deck to find his seat. We completed our preflight checks, pushed back and performed an uneventful departure. About 30 minutes into our flight I received a call from the lead flight attendant in the cabin. 'I just found out the family of the soldier we are carrying, is on board', she said. She then proceeded to tell me that the father, mother, wife and 2-year old daughter were escorting their son, husband, and father home. The family was upset because they were unable to see the container that the soldier was in before we left. We were on our way to a major hub at which the family was going to wait four hours for the connecting flight home to Virginia . The father of the soldier told the flight attendant that knowing his son was below him in the cargo compartment and being unable to see him was too much for him and the family to bear. He had asked the flight attendant if there was anything that could be done to allow them to see him upon our arrival. The family wanted to be outside by the cargo door to watch the soldier being taken off the airplane.. I could hear the desperation in the flight attendants voice when she asked me if there was anything I could do.. 'I'm on it', I said. I told her that I would get back to her. Airborne communication with my company normally occurs in the form of e-mail like messages. I decided to bypass this system and contact my flight dispatcher directly on a secondary radio. There is a radio operator in the operations control center who connects you to the telephone of the dispatcher. I was in direct contact with the dispatcher.. I explained the situation I had on board with the family and what it was the family wanted. He said he understood and that he would get back to me. Two hours went by and I had not heard from the dispatcher. We were going to get busy soon and I needed to know what to tell the family. I sent a text message asking for an update. I saved the return message from the dispatcher and the following is the text: 'Captain, sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. There is policy on this now and I had to check on a few things. Upon your arrival a dedicated escort team will meet the aircraft. The team will escort the family to the ramp and plane side. A van will be used to load the remains with a secondary van for the family. The family will be taken to their departure area and escorted into the terminal where the remains can be seen on the ramp. It is a private area for the family only. When the connecting aircraft arrives, the family will be escorted onto the ramp and plane side to watch the remains being loaded for the final leg home. Captain, most of us here in flight control are veterans. Please pass our condolences on to the family. Thanks.' I sent a message back telling flight control thanks for a good job. I printed out the message and gave it to the lead flight attendant to pass on to the father. The lead flight attendant was very thankful and told me, 'You have no idea how much this will mean to them.' Things started getting busy for the descent, approach and landing. After landing, we cleared the runway and taxied to the ramp area. The ramp is huge with 15 gates on either side of the alleyway. It is always a busy area with aircraft maneuvering every which way to enter and exit. When we entered the ramp and checked in with the ramp controller, we were told that all traffic was being held for us. 'There is a team in place to meet the aircraft', we were told. It looked like it was all coming together, then I realized that once we turned the seat belt sign off, everyone would stand up at once and delay the family from getting off the airplane. As we approached our gate, I asked the copilot to tell the ramp controller we were going to stop short of the gate to make an announcement to the passengers. He did that and the ramp controller said, 'Take your time.' I stopped the aircraft and set the parking brake. I pushed the public address button and said, 'Ladies and gentleman, this is your Captain speaking I have stopped short of our gate to make a special announcement. We have a passenger on board who deserves our honor and respect. His Name is Private XXXXXX, a soldier who recently lost his life. Private XXXXXX is under your feet in the cargo hold. Escorting him today is Army Sergeant XXXXXXX. Also, on board are his father, mother, wife, and daughter. Your entire flight crew is asking for all passengers to remain in their seats to allow the family to exit the aircraft first. Thank you.' We continued the turn to the gate, came to a stop and started our shutdown procedures. A couple of minutes later I opened the cockpit door. I found the two forward flight attendants crying, something you just do not see. I was told that after we came to a stop, every passenger on the aircraft stayed in their seats, waiting for the family to exit the aircraft. When the family got up and gathered their things, a passenger slowly started to clap his hands. Moments later more passengers joined in and soon the entire aircraft was clapping. Words of 'God Bless You', I'm sorry, thank you, be proud, and other kind words were uttered to the family as they made their way down the aisle and out of the airplane. They were escorted down to the ramp to finally be with their loved one. Many of the passengers disembarking thanked me for the announcement I had made. They were just words, I told them, I could say them over and over again, but nothing I say will bring back that brave soldier. I respectfully ask that all of you reflect on this event and the sacrifices that millions of our men and women have made to ensure our freedom and safety in these United States of AMERICA . Foot note: As a Viet Nam Veteran I can only think of all the veterans including the ones that rode below the deck on their way home and how they we were treated. When I read things like this I am proud that our country has not turned their backs on our soldiers returning from the various war zones today and give them the respect they so deserve. *** God Bless America and all our service men and women. Peace.

  10. From what I can gather from other sites it hasn't yet.. Something to do with how they do there commas and points etc. Ya know I think we all could do a better job in communicating without the other feeling like they are in an argument or something like that.. Relax people, It isn't so much what you say but how you say it.. Use a little bit of kindness, it goes a long way.

  11. Ron... If I thanked you for every post I would I would be here 24/7! So... this is my thank you for all of your great posts and your carefully worded, yet informative comments. You are always gracious with your time and compliments on other people's posts. Your enthusiasm for the investment is awesome and your positive stance is infectious. We appreciate all you do. I gotta tell ya... Medic drove me crazy for a long time. I don't if the advent of the 3 Stooges (showing the true definition of ridiculous) changed my feelings towards him or not.... but Medic has been really making a lot of good posts the last few months. I agree he is very knowledgeable about the investment.

  12. Hey Ben C.... thanks for clarifying. I am very sorry to hear of your hardships both physically and financially. I am so grateful for your service and am sure you have quite a story to tell. I can tell you that you are not alone in your pain. There are many people on here that have lost their careers, lost their homes, lost their health, and a few that have clearly lost their minds. These are tough times. Although this investment is a tug-of-war with our emotions, I am grateful that it exists for one very important reason.... FAITH. It provides that little extra incentive each day that says... maybe THIS is the day. Sometimes that little bit of hope is just enough to get you through the day. You have been invested far longer than I have, but it never really had a chance to RV 5 years ago as you probably look back. Knowing what you knew then and what you know now.... I am sure you have to be somewhat excited at the progress that has been made. Here are my thoughts from my research. Nothing is going to happen until we have a parliament sitting in their little assigned parliament seats. They will need to have a Prime Minister in place and his Minister's and government selected. The Chap 7 sanctions discuss the fact that Iraq has to have a fully representative government in place in order to be released from sanctions... including the Developmental Fund. You probably know that that fund (the DFI) is an account held in New York, that holds 95% of Iraq's proceeds from oil sales for the benefit of the people of Iraq (infrastructure repair, utilities, social programs, etc.). The other 5% goes to Kuwait to repay them for all the damage they caused during the invasion. Now, Iraq has trade sanctions against them that prevent open trade with nations until they fulfill all of the stipulations outlined in the United Nations Security Council agreement against them. The IMF(international monetary fund), WTO(World Trade Organization), Arab league, OPEC, GCC(Gulf Cooperation Council) and numerous other agencies and nations are helping Iraq work through it and have vested interests in Iraq's success. Iraq wants the UN to remove the leash and let the redevelopment and free trade begin. It appears we are close. Iraq is in the senior class of high school and we as parents are about to kick them out of the house as soon as graduation comes. Haha! Right now, Iraqi's are experiencing freedoms they haven't had in well over 20 years. BUT... they are still poverty stricken, fearful of aggressors, and without work for the most part. As goofy as their customs of politics, business, and general dialog are, they are still way better off. It is all coming to a head. That is why you are seeing such a passionate political fight between the various blocs and in particular the 2 Prime Minister candidates. They are fighting for their constituents that voted for them. As well they should. You see... they realize this isn't any ordinary opportunity. This is like electing George Washington in my opinion. They have a brand new country and the first PM is going to set the tone for the future of Iraq. In my opinion, a revaluation will be the catalyst to move Iraq out of the dark ages and into one of the preeminent positions in the Middle East and will recognize it as a credible nation in the world. No longer recognized by the fear that it bellows, but judged by the commerce and democratic government it forges. This cannot happen without a credible currency. One Dinar being less than the equivalent of 1/10th of one US penny, is not a credible currency. You shouldn't have to have a backpack full of Dinar to go grocery shopping. The world is waiting to invest in Iraq. They are licking their chops. I strongly believe that it will revalue within the next few months. 45,000 US troops are going home at the end of August leaving 50,000 in country until the end of 2011. I strongly suspect a revaluation would happen before then (end of August). I know I would appreciate the extra security if I were the PM going through that kind of value revolution. Who knows for sure??? If you connect the dots it leads you to the conclusion that we are close....in my humble opinion. I hope success and happiness finds you sooner than later. Keep the faith!

  13. Dinar Rumors: Letter from Warka Bank May 28, 2010 · Posted in another site's Tidbits - CHATS / POSTS Letter from Warka Bank – 3 Zero News “Null and Void” Here is a statement from Warka Bank (largest privately owned Bank in Iraq 120+ branches approx.) – as you can se the CBI is using the media for propaganda purposes in order to curb speculation – if any of the 3 zero stories held water the bank(s) would of course be officially notified – as per the letter from Mr. Issa below they have not been notified of any changes. I deal with this bank and have several emails from him over the years – as per an earlier agreement we have, as a group, decided to keep his full name off the internet. If you deal with the bank or their ISX dept, you are fully aware of his name and title – he is quite respected and revered as a true professional for Warka Bank and it’s ISX dept............In other words "No LOP...!" Note – From Mr Issa of Warka Bank “The CBI has not provided official written notification to the banking sector and banks regarding this matter thus it is considered null and void by the Iraqi banking sector and this is the general law noting that we contacted the CBI regarding this matter where they did not provide anything official to comment on simply stating that this matter is under study and has been so for the past few years nothing more nothing less. The value the currency, shares, property…etc will be set in accordance with the value of IQD applied and affected by the CBI in accordance with the law where the value of the IQD is set in accordance with the value they set and this standard general practice. If a revalue takes the entire IQD will be revalued in accordance with the rate the CBI sets. From our prospective we can not comment and will not comment any further unless the CBI officially announces that the removing of the 3 zeros or revaluation will actually take place by providing the banking sector written documentation where this would be the standard general verification and confirmation currently practiced.”

And yes, momma bought Possum plenty of cold beer for the party and he is already ahead of the game. It's 98 degrees on the Trinity river and Possum don't want to get over-heated. We will memorialize our warriors who gave all and never forget them at the Possum village. Life is a gift, enjoy it and prepare yourselves for the RV gift that will unwrap before the 15th of June. Now go out and Party!!!!!

  20. Hello everyone. What is 5/3rd? Is that a bank? I went to my local Bank of America yesterday and asked them about Dinar and if they buy/sell and if they will be able to change dinar for dollars if/when it RVs. The account manager had no idea what I was talking about but called the foreign currency office. I was told that they have never bought or sold Dinar and would not be able to change USD for IQD even if it does RV. Does anyone have any info about BoA that doesnt fit with this? I have seen several posts on here that say different. How do I get more info? Thanks in advance! CarrieAnn Read more: Yes 5/3rd is a bank. We have them in Ohio. We have heard from time to time that local or smaller banks have been out of the loop. Things in the banks change daily. If the suits show up one day and tell the tellers they will be exchanging dinars, guess what.....They will be exchanging dinars. Asking a local bank person if they are going to be buying or selling dinar might be like asking your kids if you will be able to make December 2012's house payment. They have no idea. It's likely you know more about this than they do...just my thoughts.

The original site in Viiet Namese used a decimal "." however, when you used the "English" link, it reflected a comma "," appropriately. Just some useful information, I hope...! I'm afraid there's actually no real value change. 26. UN & International Communities support al-Iraqiya bloc Sunday, May 30th 2010 8:00 AM Erbil, May 30, (AKnews)- The spokesman of al-Iraqiya list had announced today that the United Nations and the International Community have supported al-Iraqiya list to form the new Iraqi government, including increasing the pressure on the State of Law bloc to give away their insistence for the prime minister's post. “The Iraqi political parties have increased their pressure and forces on the main Iraqi political parties to shape the next government cabinet of Iraq soon, including pressures on the State of Law to leave the prime minister's position in the next Iraqi government”, Hayder al-Mulla said. “The State of Law has used its efforts to exclude al-Iraqiya list from the next government, but the Iraqi government would not be recognized without al-Iraqiya,” he noted. It is believed that the current Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki would not be prime minister again, because the Sader Front is not ready to support him again for the position, he added. "We do not feel any foreign pressure on our list, except the ones made by some parties which have dealt with al-Iraqiya list abroad and we have treated such kind of pressure as interference in Ira's internal affairs." he concluded. http://www.aknews.com/en/aknews/4/150293/

When Black Monday hit we were not surprised as a matter of fact we knew about it a week before.. Same thing when the bank went belly up.. So when I hear about bankers talking it leads me more to believe that this just might happen soon... Banks have to be able to get prepared for something like this sooo... Lets all try to be positive.. Just my thoughts! It surely couldn't hurt.

  33. As Adam (and others) have said all along - there are three primary ways to invest in Iraqi dinars: 1. Cash dinars 2. A Warka bank account 3. ISX (Iraqi stock exchange) trading The point I believe Adam was trying to make/reinforce is that diversification in this particular investment is a really good idea. You do not need a Warka account to deal with the cash dinars you have in hand. AND you can no longer FedEx cash dinar to Iraq for deposit in your Warka account. The only way to fund a Warka account is either to wire transfer funds from your bank in the USA (etc) to your Warka account in Iraq, or if you are already in Iraq you can deposit funds directly. Our strategy is to cash in our cash dinars when the RV happens and leave the dinars in our Warka account alone for the next few years and see where the rate ends up. Having those funds as electronic funds means then are not paper money - and if the rate comes in low with a short period of time for cashing in then we take what we can get for our cash, and the Warka bank funds can sit and wait for when the rate rises over the next few years as Iraq rebuilds and oil starts flowing. Hope this helps. Peace.

  35. JMO, but I don't know if a Warka account helps much for dinar in hand. I have both. Some cash and then wired some funds to a Warka account. In order to deposit your cash into the Warka account directly, you'd have to ship dinars to Warka in Iraq, which I would be very very reluctant about since it could get lost. The reason I got the Warka account was to help avoid the dealers surcharge. Also, if we have a limited time to turn in large bills and they come out with a sucker rate, you trade in the cash for an immediate (but limited) profit, and hang onto the funds in the Warka account for the longer haul in case the exchange rate goes higher. Or at least that's how I understand it.

  38. Tony, I ain't no chef but I know how to BBQ brisket, chicken and ribs. I'm glad to hear you like a slow cook and pecan wood. I have used post oak and mesquite, but pecan seems the best. Mesquite is darn good but there's a trick to it and requires alot of time to make the right. You got to remove the outer white layer beneath the bark before BBQ'ing. If not, it will leave a somewhat bitter taste, not to noticable to most. But very distinct to the experienced ones like Possum.

  40. Don't be angry with the folks on this site. I know you're probably frustrated - just like the rest of us. But your gamble has a much greater chance of winning than buying a lottery ticket - and you probably don't write hate mail to the lottery organisers. This is not an investment site. It's simply a good natured, fun-poking support site for fellow investors. And yes, often it may have really serious and good info. And when it does that's wonderful. I am genuinely saddened by your belief that anyone here might be able to give ACCURATE information. We're dealing with a foreign country which is just beginning to find its way with democracy, after having lived for generations under cruel and absolute dictatorships. This is made even worse by the very difficult task of translation of virtually every piece of news that's released, and this is combined with a gusto for their newly-found press freedom and ability to have a say on reporting any story - no matter how fragile its source. So please, don't get disheartened - stick with it, I'm sure you'll be glad you did. RAL - Australia

  41. My understanding about the 2 day cash in with the dong simply meant that you would have 2 days to use dong money to buy more dinar if you chose to do so .... because the dinar supposedly would RV 2 days after the dong. I think that was the only point being made there. And while it is easy to get off on "How could this be .... the banks are closed on Monday for a holiday? .... see, he really is stupid ..." The point had nothing to do with really cashing in the dong but rather letting us know that there is a source out there that is saying the VND and the IQD have two days between their respective RV's. And for all those out there who think the world is going to RV their currencies and make their financial decisions based on our holidays and our banking hours, it might be good to develop a bit of a broader perspective. Memorial Day is not important to them. In fact, it is not even important to Obama. Take this for what it is ... a report from a "source" whose info has been as good as the next guy's.

No real excuse, but here's one anyway - I had to run to the airport and didn't read it until just now. I am embarrassed and want to apologize to Adam anain and everyone opn our forum for the posting. My intention was to provide information that some might consider useful, but failed in my responsibility to KNOW excatly what I was posting. I am totally against ANY bashing or belittling anyone for any reason - there is none...!!! Thanks for reading this post, and once again I apologize to Everyone, but especially Adam. 44. Thanks for your service bro. I too am a disabled vet. I fought the VA for a good long time and finally got where it was supposed to go. The VA should be paying you, providing you free medical care, job training, educational retraining if you want, aide helpers if you need and if your disability ratings are high enough or listed as unemployable, you can draw social security also. Regardless of what the Dinar does, fight the VA and make them do right by you if they are not.
