botostyle
So many positive things are happening in Iraq the RV has to happen. I know it's Iraq, what more, who, can continue to hold this up? RV would be great for Iraq, invested countries, and of course the good people here. TimS
Well...it's a nice thought, but not necessarily the truth. Most of what you read is conjecture based on some one's analysis of the daily news. Then you have the group that believes the RV is coming because of "the plan" that was started by Bush/Cheney. There is also the group that says it is inevitable because it is necessary for the "people" of Iraq, so it must happen? Forget all this and stick to the facts that you can verify and remember, at best this is a speculative venture at best. There is no guarranty that an RV will take place soon or even within 2011....and that is not to say it is not possible. Facts as we know them and that can be supported by local news....... 1. The GOI is not complete.....there are temp positions that must be permanently filled. 2. There are still factions within the GOI that are not happy with the division of power and minister assignments. 3. The budget has only been read once and there are many points of contention among the parties of the GOI. 4. There are those in the GOI that say the budget cannot be valid until the GOI is complete and that they will have to start over with the readings/discussions once the temp spots have been filled. 5. The Kurds are not happy as the HCL has not been passed yet 6. The Kuwaiti issues have not been resolved. 7. Chapter 7 has not been totally removed from Iraq by the UNSC 8. Watch out for Sadr and the iranians to stick thier two cents in at any moment These are facts that all can be verified....the rest are just theories based on non-existant conspiracies and wishful thinking of those who own dinar. From the facts above we can deduce that this thing could easily take another 6 months to iron out or as we've seen recently, the Iraqis can move swiftly when they choose to. Bottom line is no one knows anything for certain and nothing has to happen soon for the sake of the people of Iraq. Look at this country, do our politicians always act in the best interest of us...quite the contrary, most of the time they act in thier own interests or on behalf of some lobbyist....it's no different in Iraq. bopll
Good Post! More people should look at this investment this objectively We would have a lot less crazy rumors and speculation. I agree most of what we read is wishful thinking. Don't get me wrong thought, I would love to see an RV but it will happen when it happens and nothing we say or think will change that. thinking. .

crnamiss
Thanks TimS, can count on you to be a voice of reason in the rollercoaster rooms of rumors and speculation. I appreciate that you are factual and not downing any ones opinions, just being reasonable, thanks
Inahurry
TimS ....I followed all that factual outlook with the exception of the moving swiftly part...yet to see any evidence of that..unless you are referring to the formation of the government taking nearly one year after the elections instead of three. JMO will also say it has a lot to do with the IMF and also the fact that Iraq is still setting up their economic infrastructure. Big contracts are being issued, however the accumulation of wealth needs time to take place. More oil needs to be exported more contracts are needed. By all means they need a decent power grid. In many aspects they are worse than a third world country. I believe the biggest contributor to the RV will be time. It simply takes time to accomplish all of this.

JMO Thanks TimS...good factual points that prove just how much MORE work there is to be done. I placed several of your points in bold to emphasize them as these are important to understand *why* there is much work yet to be done. # 8 presents a real threat and Sadr is already stirring up the pot. I believe Sadr is behind the recent suicide bombings that killed 52+ iraqi police force. He will do anything to let the country know he is back. He did not come back in order to assist the country but to stir up matters up, and I expect these events to increase once again showing that Iraq is not ready to just throw out an RV. Your other points are all valid, because they can be verified, and one thing is for sure. We must stop handling this as *if* it is going to be on anyones time frame OTHER than Iraq. Lets not believe at all the constant barrage of baseless info. being spewed by others 'intel'. Their intel is false, created to enforce a lie so as to keep people thinking it is any day when it is clearly not any day. Iraq is not ready....yet. Those that hold dinar matter nothing to Iraq in this whole process, this is the part that so few want to understand. Keep watching CBI.IQ. The rest of the hype is meaningless, and for sure there is nothing that will speed this process up other than settling the minimal factors needed to even proceed towards completing a successful RV. This is going on, however it is obvious Iraq is in NO hurry and will finish based upon their own time frame...certainly NOT anyone elses. Thanks again for your points of fact...even these facts many try and argue with to bring themselves peace of mind...still cannot get around these known issues until they are properly established. All my best! Jim ---
