I have been reading a lot of the different points of view on this subject.

The way I see it is I spent money on the Iraqi Dinar that I had spare and went into this as a gamble.

I intend to stay till the end even if it means I do lose all of my investment.

If I do lose it all, it means that I only loose what I could afford.

All the main people on this site have always stated that you should only invest what you could afford to lose.

Now in a lot of these posts it seems to read that people have over invested in the Dinar and have to sell, because they expected to gain vast amounts of money from this investment, and did not want to stay for the LAST HAND to be dealt.

It’s like a game of cards, you don’t know the real outcome until the last card is dealt and found out who has been bluffing.

Well the last card has not been dealt so hang on in there.

It’s not over yet.

Actually, the IQD that I have have was given to me as a commission from clients that understood my thesis regarding the RV. In other words, they trust me.

We shalll see how this currency speculation event plays out. In the interim, I do believe that we will see a profit soon.

Thanks but I am selling a portion of mine for totally different reasons. I have been in dinar since 2004 and never spent more than I could afford. Sometimes life happens and you haveta re-adjust your plans accordingly. The worst times I saw was when people was doing those awful Reserves.

Never buy currency on reserve. That is a huge mistake from an accounting/portfolio standpoint.

High risk = High yield.... This is going to be good for all of us.

All that has been done since Jan of this past year points to a clear determination of the IRAQI govt. to stablize the country and their economy. Everything you read and hear needs to be looked at with a careful eye.

See the big picture and IMHO it looks great!

If this goes belly up then so be it. I've lost more money on other investments. I have this internal war going on inside me, my brain says give it up but my heart still has hope! :lol:

Follow your heart and the money will follow. That's what I have always told my kids and for them, it has worked.

I'm posting this again because I like/need to read it from time to time.... Life takes it's own time to evolve and so will this investment.....

Steve Jobs 2005 speech at Stanford... Just the part I like..

When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.

Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

About a year ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas. I didn't even know what a pancreas was. The doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that I should expect to live no longer than three to six months. My doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order, which is doctor's code for prepare to die. It means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you'd have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. It means to make sure everything is buttoned up so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. It means to say your goodbyes.

I lived with that diagnosis all day. Later that evening I had a biopsy, where they stuck an endoscope down my throat, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor. I was sedated, but my wife, who was there, told me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. I had the surgery and I'm fine now.

This was the closest I've been to facing death, and I hope it's the closest I get for a few more decades. Having lived through it, I can now say this to you with a bit more certainty than when death was a useful but purely intellectual concept:

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Just my two cents. How in the world could the dinar stay at the value it is indefinately? It cannot. It must raise in value for the GOI to be a player in the world market again. This is the reason I got into this investment. It will RV. The dinar will go up in value it is just a matter of time. Worst case senario is we come out around even or lose a little. That's from the LOP theories which I do not believe will happen. This investment is well worth the risk for this type of return. Hang on my friends good is on the way!

WorkerBee, you are correct on your "other investments" statement!

Anybody and everybody who has held longterm traditional investments such as mutual funds, stocks and bonds has already lost way more than a few thousand dollar investment in IRD, which by the way hasn't lost anything yet and probably will make you a few bucks one day soon... we all hope. Hang onto those traditional investments. They will come around again some day!

So much drama from those that have so little invested. To those that are backing out of this investment because it didn't turn a huge profit in six months... goodbye. Bankruptcy is probably not to far in the future fro you. To those that have been in this for years, my heart goes out to you, but by now you have most likely resolved to sit on your investment and forget about it. Very smart and very good for your mental health!

This isn't going to go down in our personal time frame. I'm always amused by those that flip flop all over the place concerning their uninformed and perceived status of this investment. Nobody knows when, how and if this will happen. It's pure speculation! It's in the hands of very few people and they aren't going to tell anybody when and by how much the dinar's value will rise.

Now... on with the DRAMA QUEENS!
