Popular Post Doc31
As you know ... there is never a currency auction on Friday. But with the CBI website bandwidth error Bandwidth Limit ExceededThe server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later. Apache/2.2.14 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at cbi.iq Port 80 Coupled with yesterday's unannounced CBI closure the conspiracy theorists are out by the thousands. I'd love to tell you that the site is down being reworked for the RI/RV ... but, as those of you know who build web-sites ... there is no need for a site to be down ... to try out a new or updated version all you do is assign it a sub-domain page that no one knows is there (oddly named so that no one accidently stumbles upon it) and work on it ... making changes until you finish. All you do when you want to make it the updated page is change the names in an html editor and "bang" ... it's the new page. In other words ... they could have been working on it for days, months, even years without us knowing. A band-width error page USUALLY occurs when too many people hit a site all at once ... although it can be higher demand on a site ... but it has to be a pretty substantial increase. Spot Oil~$91.41 at this hour Spot Gold $1384.40 running sideways in a $3 channel after yesterday morning's nose dive Can't report anything about zeroes with yesterday's closure ... so 49 and holding expecting either another zero/near zero day on Sunday or something MUCH bigger ... I mean come on ... all the signs are there ... will they? won't they? ... I don't know I'm just telling you that everything that needs to be in place seems to be in place. Now ... before everyone freaks ... don't forget that (traditionally) today CAN BE a huge sell off day in the markets starting a little before noon (European traders). Next Saturday (not tomorrow) is the 1st of January. Next week is USUALLY a dead week for the markets. Sell offs are common as traders take the week between Christmas and New Year off and/or reposition themselves for the coming year. Traders don't just allow things to float while they are gone ... they usually get out to protect their positions and work out the end-of-year accounting. I didn't check the volume yesterday but I see that the markets were up (I was looking for a sell-off beginning yesterday). Not a lot of news this morning. Oh, someone yesterday made a comment: Odd, but we have been saying that this is the "perfect storm" for about a month now. I took a bit of offense and responded with: I think what you mean is that it is "odd that it has been a near perfect storm for more than a couple of months".It isn't what we are saying ... it's what is happening ... high oil and staying high during the normally flat part of the month, high gold, zero or near zero cash transactions ... no one made this stuff up. We are just observers of the facts. To me the most exciting item in that list is that oil is high during the normally flat part of the month ... combined with the zeroes ... never mind ... So with little to nothing to report I will go back to spending time with my family. Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy, and prosperous New Year to all our Service men and women. Thank you for your service ... I'm sorry that you are away from your loved ones this Christmas. I take neither my freedoms nor my priveleges lightly. Thank you. Just so you know ... I've had NO coffee this morning ... so you are on your own ... lol Peace Doc31 21

hopefullbk
Hey Doc, With your post yesterday about the CBI being closed, i think that may have generated so much interest/traffic from the forums, your comments may have single handedly created the CBI bandwidth issue. I dont know if thats the case but when I read the site was down, my first thought was DOC31 did it! lol. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

BamBam
P.S. Doc, I was so excited to see you write something this morning; I rushed to be the 1st to say "morning", (silly isnt it)! Now that I have read it, after spilling my first cup of coffee all over myself being in a hurry, (like a schoolboy excited to see daddy); it is apparent that the whole world is wearing out the refresh button on CBI's website, since no auction yesterday. Anyways, enjoy your family, as I will be, and see you Sunday!! Double Blessings!!

God forbid ... lol Peace Doc31 Glad you saw the humor in my comment. Now if you keep posting things like yesterday and Shabibbi's site keeps crashing because of it, he might just get sick of fixing it and just RV the damn currency to stop the hassel. You may have the power to pull the trigger Doc. ;-) Have a great day and keep up the good work.

januck4
Thanks Doc and Merry Christmas to you and yours as well as our military serving all over the world. It's so peaceful knowing that they are at work for our freedom. One thought on the CBI website, even though it might be maxed out, wouldn't someone be able to get on the site once in awhile. I just don't think it would freeze up and not one person has claimed to have gotten on all day. Just food for thought! Merry Christmas all!!
