Iranian official: America is waging a currency war against Iran from Erbil, Herat and the Emirates

Baghdad - Nas

The former head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Intelligence, Hussein Taeb, said that good news will be announced about the course of the investigation regarding the attack by drones in Isfahan, accusing the Americans of manipulating currency rates from several cities, including Erbil.

In statements at the University of Science and Industry in Tehran, reported by Mehr News Agency, and followed by "NAS" (March 3, 2023), Taeb indicated that "the Americans started a hard currency war to prevent the establishment of the infrastructure for the advancement of the Iranian economy," noting that "this action was not It is the first of its kind, but Iran has been fighting this war for a long time."

He continued, "The Americans are manipulating the prices of hard currency in each of Erbil Iraq, Herat Afghanistan, the Emirates, and in the Tehran bazaar, as they not only set the currency prices, but they also buy it to create chaos in Iran," he said.

Two stories raised the value of the Iranian Toman against the dollar and affected the price of gold

Baghdad - people

According to Iranian press reports, two news reports had a positive impact on the conditions of the Iranian currency and the prices of gold and hard currencies in Iran. The first: the announcement of a preliminary agreement between Iran and the IAEA on some previous points of disagreement. The second is the news of the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

This result prompted many observers to remind the government of the importance of building peaceful and positive relations with countries that would calm the continuous turmoil in Iran's economy for nearly 5 years.

After Grossi's visit and the agreement with Riyadh to restore bilateral relations, the situation of the Iranian currency improved, as the dollar traded at 44,000 tomans yesterday, Saturday, after one dollar was sold in free markets at 60,000 tomans before these two events.

Jahan Sanat newspaper shed light on the subject (March 12, 2023) in a report, and asked if this improvement would continue, or would we witness the return of the Iranian currency’s decline, days after the echoes of this positive news faded away? To conclude, the newspaper concludes that the continued improvement of the Iranian currency situation requires relations between Iran and Western countries to reach an acceptable stage of consensus and non-tension, stressing that the sanctions still pose a major threat to the Iranian economy. The "Sazandky" newspaper ruled out that the dollar would continue to decline against the Toman, to less than 40 percent.

Iran looks to be taking lessons from India in a bid to give more importance to trade in local currencies. The Islamic Republic is now planning to ditch trading in dollar and opt for Rial trade in Western African countries. The announcement was made during a joint conference, where Iran's president for economic affairs suggested setting up a bank to deal in local currencies to facilitate trade. He added that this will help the countries conduct commercial deals without the necessity of using Dollars and Euros. Watch this video to find out how India is inspiring other countries to promote their currencies.

The dollar is rising again against the Toman in Iran's markets, after a temporary breakthrough

Baghdad - Nas

After days of positive news on the level of diplomacy, foreign currencies have risen again at the expense of the Iranian Toman, after witnessing a remarkable improvement during the previous days, specifically after the agreement with Riyadh to restore diplomatic relations, and the visit of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Today, Tuesday (March 14, 2023), the "Stareh Sobh" newspaper referred to this close relationship between the diplomatic breakthrough and the improvement in the situation of the Iranian currency, and quoted experts as saying: If Tehran adopts a "rational" foreign policy, we are expected to witness an improvement in the Iranian currency. But if this path stops and the escalation and tension in diplomatic relations return, we will witness the return of the Iranian currency's decline against foreign currencies in the coming days and weeks.

In a related context, Jomhouri Islami newspaper criticized the lack of effect of the currency improvement in recent days on prices in the markets, while it is quickly affected when the value of the currency declines against foreign currencies, and called on officials to provide convincing explanations for this phenomenon in the Iranian economy.
