Shafaq News/ A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Parliament visited, on Monday, the border areas that were subjected to Iranian bombardment. ?

A member of the Parliament's Interior Committee, Mohsen Hussein, told Shafaq News Agency, "The visit of the parliamentary delegation comes to learn more about the border areas that have been subjected to Iranian and Turkish bombardments during the past days and to submit a detailed report to the Parliament Presidency in this regard."

He added, "The report that will be prepared by the visiting delegation also includes a full review of the living conditions of the residents of these areas, with the continued artillery shelling on them." ?

He added, "Today, the delegation visited Joman district within the Erbil governorate, and will also visit the rest of the areas during the coming period."

In this context, a local source confirmed to Shafaq News Agency, "Iranian forces have gathered near the borders since yesterday, but they did not penetrate the borders of Kurdistan Region."

Today, Monday, the Kuwaiti newspaper, Al-Qabas, reported that a convoy of ground forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, equipped with heavy military equipment, were deployed in border areas with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The newspaper quoted sources as saying that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards warned the people of these areas and their residents that they are not entitled to travel to the border areas with Iraq until further notice.

According to residents in the area, they saw convoys of tanks and artillery heading towards the border with Iraq from Iranian Kurdistan, and the use of drones was also observed in this area.

It’s starting, Iran now telling the citizens of a supposedly sovereign country where they can travel. 

This is why Al-Sadr will never agree to the puppet that Iran wants as the PM. 
I’m not sure Iraq can go another year with this circus their going through now. It appears to me that the only solution is for Al-Sadr to take his army and run the Iranians out of the country. The last time Iraq was free from the Iranian influence was when Sadam went to war with them….

A statement from his office, a copy of which was received by {Al-Furat News}, stated that: "Al-Mandlawi is chairing a meeting of the Foreign Relations Committee in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the advanced cadre in the ministry to discuss the recent attacks on areas in the Kurdistan region of Iraq."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed with his German counterpart Annalina Birbock the bilateral relations between the two countries and the prospects for strengthening them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries.  

  

 

  

And the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that Nass received a copy of it (October 11, 2022), that "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein stressed the importance of respecting the country's sovereignty by neighboring countries, strengthening the principles related to this, and following diplomatic channels to face challenges, and resolve it." She added, "During the call, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and prospects for enhancing them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries. The minister expressed his thanks and appreciation for Germany's supportive stances for Iraq," explaining: "We affirm our thanks to Germany for standing with Iraq, indicating the importance of respecting the country's sovereignty by neighboring countries, Strengthening its principles and following diplomatic channels to face challenges and resolve crises.   

  

The minister referred to "the artillery and missile shelling carried out by Iran on some sites inside Iraqi territory in the past few days, calling for the need to stop such violations on the Iranian side, considering that they violate international covenants and laws."   

  

The minister noted that the government is keen to adopt a balanced policy in establishing relations with everyone, especially neighboring countries, calling for the need for joint action at the regional and international levels to prevent any party from interfering in Iraqi internal affairs and to protect sovereignty, pointing out that internal stability is reflected in the stability of the country. The region, explaining that tension leads to destabilization of the security situation in the region, and thus affects international peace.   

  

The two ministers also touched on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, and they also discussed the draft resolution submitted to the United Nations General Assembly regarding the annexation of some Ukrainian regions to the Russian Federation. in resolving disputes and in light of Iraq's commitment to the United Nations Charter.   

  

For her part, German Foreign Minister, Mrs. Annalina Birbock, stressed the need to respect Iraq's sovereignty, calling for the need to unite all efforts to support the Iraqi government, especially in the field of strengthening security, stability, and the rule of law, adding: "Berlin affirms its commitment to supporting Iraq at all levels." ".

The Arab Parliament condemns the Iranian bombing of the Kurdistan Region

The Arab Parliament condemned, on Wednesday, the bombing that targeted several areas in the Kurdistan region.

The German Foreign Ministry condemns the Iranian attack on the Kurdistan region

On Thursday, the German Foreign Ministry condemned the Iranian attack that targeted areas in the Kurdistan region.  

  

  

  

A statement by the office of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received a copy of it (October 13, 2022), that "the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received today, Thursday, a phone call from the Minister of State in the German Foreign Ministry, Tobias Lindner."  

  

He added, "In the phone call, the Minister of State in the German Foreign Ministry condemned the recent attacks on the Kurdistan Region, and said that the violation of the sovereignty of the territory of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region is unacceptable, and that they are closely following events in this regard."  

  

The statement added, "The Minister of State in the German Foreign Ministry expressed his country's support for the stability of the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan region, especially the formation of a government that reflects the results of the elections and respects democracy. He also stressed that German forces will continue to stay in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region after the approval of his country's parliament."  

  

The statement concluded, "The Prime Minister thanked Germany, the government and people, for its continuous support and cooperation, and expressed the Kurdistan Region's desire to comprehensively strengthen relations with Germany."

The Minister of State in the German Foreign Ministry expressed his country's support for the stability of the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, especially the formation of a government that reflects the election results and respects democracy. He also stressed that German forces will continue to stay in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region after the approval of his country's parliament.

The Prime Minister thanked the German government and people for its continuous support and cooperation, and expressed the Kurdistan Region's desire to comprehensively strengthen relations with Germany.

An Iraqi delegation headed by National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji headed to Iran to discuss the Iranian bombing of the Kurdistan Region.

On Saturday (October 15, 2022), Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian met with Iraqi National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji in Tehran, according to the Iranian Tasnim news agency.

A member of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Iraqi parliament, Vian Sabri, explained that "Al-Araji's visit comes within the framework of the steps taken by the Iraqi federal government regarding the bombing of the areas of Kurdistan Region by the Islamic Republic of Iran."

A member of the Joint Investigation Committee between the Security and Defense Committee and the Foreign Relations Committee added, "During the hosting of the Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein by our committee, we were informed that one of the steps taken by the government to prevent the recurrence of the bombing of the Kurdistan Region by Iran, is to send a delegation headed by Qassem Al-Araji to Tehran." “.

On September 28, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards launched intensive bombing with missiles and drones on the headquarters of Kurdish parties opposed to the Iranian regime in the Kurdistan Region, the “Azadi Kurdistan” party near the Altun Kubri area of Erbil, the headquarters of the “Zhemtkeshan” association in Zarkiz, and the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Iran, in addition to a camp for Iranian Kurdish refugees in Koysanjaq district of Erbil governorate, and the bombing killed 17 people and wounded 52 others.

Sabri indicated that the delegation of the Iraqi government, which is in Tehran, had met with representatives of the Islamic Republic in Baghdad regarding the bombing, before they conducted this visit.

It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein, was hosted in the Iraqi parliament to discuss the Iranian bombing of the Kurdistan Region, and the measures taken by the Iraqi government to prevent the recurrence of these bombings.
