Progress toward GOI

This morning I caught a brief segment of Candy Crowley doing an interview with Gen Ray Odierno about the formation of GOI in Iraq. Although I did not hear the entire interview, I did hear the following from Gen Odierno in response to Candy's questions:

a) There is progress/movement toward forming the new GOI

B) They have NOT called off meeting, they ARE meeting NOW

c) They are moving toward a power-sharing (arrangement) in forming the GOI

Here are the links if someone has time to listen to the entire interview. Wanted to get this posted ASAP as it seemed very positive to me IMO.

Here is the paragraph in transcript:

CROWLEY: It has been five months since the Iraqi elections. They still haven't formed a coalition government. You have expressed hope that by September 1 they would be well on their way. Are they well on their way? ODIERNO: Well, first off, they're back talking again. They haven't broken off talks, so they're back discussing it. So that's a good sign. What -- what they're working on now is reforms and power- sharing agreements. And that's -- that's important. We want them to decide what reforms have to be put in place, what kind of power- sharing agreements they need in order to move towards governmental formation. And I all we're trying to do is facilitate that process. And we're starting to see movement forward. And I think that's encouraging.
