President of the Republic, Barham Salih, on Wednesday, a decree to appoint Karrar Sabah al-Abbadi, the post of governor of Babylon. 
"According to the provisions of Article (7) of Article (73) of the Constitution and Article (1) of Article (26) of the Law of the Republic of Iraq, (21) for the year 2018 amended and based on what was presented by the Council of Babylon, we set by the appointment of Karrar Sabah Sabah speech of Abadi as governor of Babylon. 
"This decree shall be implemented from the date of its issuance and published in the Official Gazette." 
The Council of the province of Babylon, voted Wednesday (October 24, 2018), on the election of Karrar Saleh Abadi, a successor to Sadik Medlul.
A number of members of the Babil provincial council objected to the election of Abbadi as governor while they applied to President Barham Salih not to issue a presidential decree appointing Karrar al-Abbadi as governor.

He explained that "the demonstrations that are held accountable for the demonstrators ended months ago, and the wave of anger was general and can not be held accountable to specific people, especially since many of them have no evidence against them only pictures of their participation in demonstrations attended by tens of thousands."
The Supreme Judicial Council announced on Wednesday that the third Basra investigation court released eight defendants who participated in the demonstrations that took place in the province recently. 
The province of Basra during last September, protests in a number of cities against the backdrop of the deterioration of the service situation and the expansion of unemployment and water pollution, resulted in the deaths of hundreds of wounded and dozens of martyrs.

An Arab newspaper revealed that Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi seeks to provide ministries in one basket, while pointing to the postponement of the vote on the candidates for the ministries next Thursday. 

The newspaper quoted an official source as saying that "is scheduled to be held this morning, a new meeting between Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and representatives of political blocs and forces, hoping to reach an agreement to allow the names of candidates of the eight ministries in a parliamentary session to be held this afternoon," noting that "In the absence of an agreement, the meeting will include discussion of the financial budget for next year as well as the disaster of fish deaths in southern Iraq ."

 


"The current differences are focused on the identity of the ministers of defense and interior," the newspaper quoted a member as saying. "There is a refusal to take over the leader of the Islamic Party, Iyad al-Samarrai, the Ministry of Planning, considering that he had previously tried."
