10 May 2018  IBN...Eyad Allawi threaten to quit politics over death threats.

Head of The National Coalition “al-Wataniya” Eyad Allawi threatened to quit the whole political process and defy it after the election, due to the inappropriate conditions.

Allawi revealed that his life is in danger after receiving assassination threats, refusing to reveal the source of these threats.

“The reason of my participation in the political process is to end sectarianism,” Allawi told al-Ghad newspaper, asserting that if conditions stayed the same after the elections he will quit politics.

Iraq holds legislative election by May 12. The integrity of this election is questionable. Clerics and politicians say fraud will happen due to the control of militias over the polling centers.

 

 

 

10 May 2018  AIN...Sadr sets conditions for ending differences with al-Maliki.

Select the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr several conditions to end the differences with the head of a coalition of state law, Nuri al-Maliki.

Sadr said in a press statement in response to a question by one of his followers on his response to Maliki’s answer to a question in a satellite channel about the dispute or an attempt to end it and expressed his readiness to end the differences. “I will not do unless the people of Mosul and Anbar, The areas occupied by terrorism and will not satisfy that unless the permission of the martyrs of the martyrs of Spyker and Saqlawiyah and others. ”

10 May 2018 IBN...A U.S Company found involved in Money Laundering in Iraq.

A U.S based company found involved in money-laundering and smuggling. The U.S based website SFG reported that an alleged contract has been found worth 100 million U.S dollars in Iraq for defense purposes. The website also pointed out that the company is run by the husband of a U.S Democratic senator. The company, Bernie Group is allegedly involved in money-laundering and bribery cases and is run by the husband of U.S Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein. The website said in a report that the company has been hoping for a contract of at least 100 million U.S dollars for defense work in Iraq during the current month. The report indicated that the Massachusetts-based company is operating facilities for a separate contract worth 28 million U.S dollars to build barracks and other facilities for the new Afghan armed forces. The entire defense and homeland security deals linked with the Bernie Group raise concerns regarding political looting.

10 May 2018  IBN...Millions in cash discovered in Iraqi campaign posters from Iran: Video

A video purported to show large amounts of cash hidden in boxes of campaign posters after being shipped from Iran into Iraq was posted on the internet late Wednesday, less than a week before national elections are to be held.

In the video, the source and accuracy of which could not be independently verified, several cartons are stacked in a room. The hands of a male whose face is not shown are seen unsealing and opening two of them to reveal dozens of stacks of $100 bills hidden underneath campaign posters.

This was my major concern, Maliki getting back into a position of power. I feel that this would not be in the best interest of the dinar.

That would not be the best interest for the Dinar, Iraq, the Iraqis, nor us.  Nothing good has come or will ever have come with Milarky getting back to his supposed thrown.  The Hillarious of Iraq that's for sure.

Corruption is out of control in Iraq.  If Abadi wins he is going to clean up the corruption and that will be your suitable environment.  The problem with “ suitable environment “  is it is to much like soon, any day now or right around the corner.  The question will be how fast and how motivated will the new government be to clean up that swamp.

The question there Pitcher is why has it taken this long to begin with??   Cleaning up the corruption began about a year ago and is still going on.  I know the main concern is getting all of the money found and back so one can only say that is what the hold up is.  As has been said follow the money trail, and it's a long one with $300 billion missing, and then get those heads in a noose.  As with the mafia find the accountant that has the books and bank account numbers then squeeze.

the military wing of the Sadrist movement on Friday killed six suicide bombers from the organization calling and destruction of their additions in a pre-emptive operation in the high-western Balad district in Salahaddin province.

The official media of the Saraya said that the dead were among the cells responsible for the attacks in the so-called (north of Baghdad), which carried out earlier operations against the security forces, pointing out that it was intended to target the shrine, “Mohammed” and polling stations in Balad.
