LBJ - with his creation of multiple social programs funded by US taxpayers is just another reason why his tenure as POTUS was a complete & utter failure. Time has a way of showcasing the positive & the negative. Speeches are nice, sadly in this case actions show differently. JMHO

I’m a Texan and it hurts to say it but LBJ did a lot of damage to the country imo. Although his Great Society Programs were meant to help struggling families it is the root of our present Entitlement problem. The programs were meant to be a lifeline not a lifestyle of mooching forever.  For me his greatest blunder was expanding the Vietnam War.

"Entitlement" ..."the belief that one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment"....therein lies the problem
