DHS Secretary: At Least 40 Americans Who Fought With ISIS Overseas Are Back in the US

At least 40 American citizens that have left to join the fight in Iraq and Syria are now back in the U.S., according to DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson, raising serious questions about the United States’ counterterrorism strategy here at home.

 

“As I understand it, of the 180 Americans who have gone overseas to fight in Iraq and Syria, 40 have come back. I assume you're keeping close tabs on those 40?” 60 Minutes’ correspondent Lesley Stahl asked Johnson in an interview that aired Sunday.

 

“We have in fact kept close tabs on those who we believe have left and those who've come back. A number have been arrested or investigated and we have systems in place to track these individuals. But you can't know everything,” he responded.

While he acknowledged that many had been arrested, it is a bit disconcerting that all of them haven’t been apprehended, given that we know they went to fight with ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

 

According to a New York Post law enforcement source, however, this may have to do with the fact that most of the Americans joining the Islamic State are in it for the thrill and thus, when they return home are not interested in waging war once back. But, of course, there is no guarantee that’s the case.

 

[T]he source cautioned that it only takes “one of these nuts” to plant a bomb in New York City.

 

“And therein lies the problem. That’s our concern. We are tracking them,” says the source.

 

The FBI wants to know everything about these homegrown psychos.

 

“We want to find out several things: who these people are, why they went over there, what they were doing over there, and what is their intention when they come home,” the source said.

yep...bringing in his personal sleeper cells, so he will pull martial law and stop all elections,,  and of course, time is running out, he hasn't quite destroyed this country yet, he is following the letter of divide and conquer to the "T", with all i's dotted, and t's crossed....I just don't understand why there has not been an impeachment for the numerous constitutional violations.   The whole chain gang on the hill is in on the corruption of destroying America.  Knowingly or not, they have fallen under the deceit of the last days.  To allow this usurper to remain in office and not force him to prove his credentials to run for Office is also a treason violation of the congress.  It's like a game, dem's and rep's.  They try to see who can get who out of the Presidential election by scandal.  They play the elections like a chess game.  I just wish they would have played check-mate when they knew this man came from no where.  Every day goes by he gets more arrogant and narcissistic.  It's disgusting and a complete embarrassment the shame it brings to this country.   And someone needs to tell that fool that this is STILL a Christian Nation with many other religions respected by Christians.   It's just those other religions don't want to respect Christianity, and that is why he calls it a non Christian nation.  Cause he don't respect it either as he has blasphemed God's word to the world.   He is a bully threw and threw.  Shameful man has not only shamed the Office of the President, but the status of the US and the wishy washy non leading tactics that he sends hits to fakes targets, and sells guns illegally to mexico gangs, and sits in the process of pulling a maliki and doing a deal with iran that must have congress approval...   Wasn't his words that he was going to be transparent?   That's as big a lie as the Garden of Eden that you will be Gods if you eat the apple.   It's like a daily scandal, just like the maliki gov.  So is the o administration.  I just can't believe that with the overmanned congress, that not ONE of them has pushed the issues of impeachment.  There is plenty of evidence.   Just sickening, if this country has fallen into that deep sleep, then they deserve what they get when they wake up.  Which will be the world of o and his crooked gangsters.

They will be followed to see who else are their accomplices. Wire tap phones, tap their internet connection, etc. Their families will also be monitored. We will get more information this way and after the information goes dry, then we will prosecute them and their family. It's going to be a 24/7 thing.

The easiest solution without a doubt is to take away their citizenship and send them back to wherever they came from. A simple solution at no expense to the US government in having to track them.

Anyone leaving the USA to fight with ISIS would be grounds for permanent denial for re-entry into the USA.
