Haha then you're crazy and smart at the same time not to say lucky. :lol:src="http://dinarvets.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif"> It would've been funny if you pulled a gum instead of a gun. :lol:src="http://dinarvets.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif">

concieled weapons laws protect everyone .. even those who dont carry weapons .. i can tell you im over 50 years old .. i have never purchased a weapon in my life .. of any kind ..i do have faith.......the concieled weapons laws is the best thing that ever happened to this country ..like clint eastwood would say .. do ya feel lucky ..? thats the image i projected ..well .. do ya? punk

the concield law is more meant to confuse the agressors .. not the innocent

support the concieled laws

One problem is when one person's faith and personal expectations are seen as universal. Samuel was not permitted to shed blood because he was supposed to build the Temple. David, on the other hand, was 'taught the art of war by God Himself' as written in the Psalms. One person may be a warrior as established by God and other not permitted to be a warrior. Neither are any better or worse than the other, simply different duties. In the Book of Luke even Christ Himself says that the day is coming when he who has two cloaks would need to sell one and buy a sword. The sword was a defensive/offensive weapon but in general hands was primarily defensive in nature and meant as a instrument to kill. Peter carried a sword and the Lord did not chide him for having a sword but for using in a manner that was interfering with something greater. Peter was one of the first 'concealed carry' followers of Christ.

i hope no one thinks the punk thing was directed at any one .. it is what eastwod said in his movie .. and thats the image i projected in my time of need .. but it was that concealed law that was my real protector,, i had no weapon .. but they didnt want to find out if i did or not

i think open carry laws only protect those who are carrying .. the criminals can see who has a gun and who doesnt .. advantage ...criminal ..

its like the convient store clerks are not allowed to have guns to protect themselves .. the thieves know this ,, so who gets robbed all the time .. duh ..

when was the last time you saw a cop getting robbed .. duh .. the criminals know they are armed ..

it seems those who are known to be armed are not getting robbed .. .. and the ones who it is not known if they have a gun .. they dont get robbed .. its just those who are known not to be armed are getting shot and killed and robbed

so why open up a bigger playing field for the killers

It's a shame that a beautiful country like that is so full of crime, thanks for links Umbertino.

Tony... You know how much I love your original Country... I'm planning on going back at least for a month in 2013 ( finances permitting) to Salvador and maybe a short trip to Rio also... My GF ( from Salvador) loves very much her city and her Country ( just like most Brazilians) but admits that the situation is beyond desperate ( Salvador, a 3 Million People city has about 2,000 murders a year) which is so bad given the fact that the majority of People are good and honest and that seemingly the economy is ( and has been for some time now) currently in a boost...

2014 will be the soccer World Cup year ( in several Brazil cities) and right after that, in 2016 the Olympic games will be held in Rio de Janeiro....

I was told that currently Brazil is building 9 new airports and also 9 new highways for these events...

I hope crime repression ( needed) will conjugate with social justice reforms ( also needed, I am told).

No, I don't have a boat, it's more trouble than it's worth, I'm very close to the shore and marinas but I just go on my friends boats, why?

When you and your faimly go for a outing on your freinds boat does he provide life jackets ? If he didnt would you allow your family on board ? Even if he told you it was safe nothing was going to happen you dont really need them Just curious.

Well I love Brazil but I haven't been back in over 40 years, I'm sure you've seen that the military is pushing people out of the favelas in Rio to keep it safe for the world cup and the Olympics, guess where the poor are going to? if you gessed Sao Paulo you're right, That's one reason the crime there is so high.

I hope you have a good time when you go there to that beautiful state of Salvador.

Yes I would go without life jackets, but if one of my kids or grandson was going they would have to have a life jacket, in other words anybody that can't fend for themselves would need a jacket.

Quote from above

Exactly if those people had no gun there would be no shooting.

So if there were no video cameras there would be no child porn or child abuse either right?

We're talking about guns here, what does a camera have to with guns? let's try to stick to the topic.

Yes of course you wouldnt . You love your family and want them to be safe. If that boat was to sink those life jackets would be the only thing to save your family. They may never need that life jacket but the one time They do its for real. Well life is alot like that boat and that life jacket is your gun. You most likly will never use it . But if the boat is sinking and their lives depend on it daddy`s got the life jackets.

at least I hope so

I get your point, but remember you're not with your kids 24/7, so I'm sure if you were near your kids if something happened you and I would protect them, but what if you're not? What good does you having a gun would do?

Yes.. I had read about that ( Police moving people out)......I was also told that many of the criminals in Rio moved to Salvador a few months ago....Salvador, ( like other cities in Brazil) is beautiful .... Pelourinho, the old historical center of the city, renovated with Unesco funds a few years ago is spectacular ( deemed as the best-preserved colonial district in S.America) but there and in most areas of the city you have to watch over your shoulder... constantly ( unless you're a very rich person and can afford body-guards)... It's not easy to relax.

Still I deem it a great Country with great People and can only hope things will improve ( but it takes will and money)....

Again police repression is important but it would be good to try and remove the causes which led to this sad state of things.... More opportunities for everybody, more equality, etc.... For what is possible....

I guess they're spreading the poor around, I heard they give them a one way ticket to where ever they want to go, so sad.

No tony that just dont float. Dying in front of them is not protecting them or perhaps the other way around them dying in front of you. I respect your choice Tony. But please dont make belive in your head that you can protect your family as well as I can . Cause no you cant. This daddy/ grandpa makes sure he brings the life jackets. smile.gif

The Liberal Left would love nothing more than to take our guns and won't stop until they do. It would mean a defenseless society against a tyrannical government. Hitler did it in Germany, therefore he was able to kill all the Jews with no resistance. Is this what we want? I don't thnk so.

We obviously see things differently and that's what makes this world go around, I feel I don't need a gun and you feel you need one, so you prooved your point the way you see things and I prooved my the way I see things, this was a good debate without anyone being upset, so thanks everyone for your opinions.

Tragic events in the USA I must say.

I am astonished that it possible to walk down to your local gun shop & buy a full assault rifle

Why would you need this?

Why does the right to own arms in the USA allow the assault rifle to be sold over the counter?

Assault rifles are for soldiers or marines to protect your country, not in a million years or any situation does it warrant Joe public to have such powerful weapons as this.

Just remember this

“GUNS DON’T KILL PEOPLE……………….PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE” :(/>
