You know...the mindset here that we have been programmed to accept is that you work until you drop dead. In a society where, once you "retire" it's perfectly acceptable to end up working at Walmart as a greeter, because there is no way a normal person will ever save up enough for a comfortable retirement, it probably would not be a bad idea if we were a little more accepting of the way other people choose to live their lives. Many people in the world want more from life than working for the "man" until you draw your last breath. Fact is, there is more to life than that.

We do not understand the mindset of other peoples in other lands. We don't understand their priorities and desires. What we do notice is that they do things markedly different than us. To me...because they do things differently does not mean it's necessarily a bad thing. We can only evaluate other people's habits and customs by our own standards, and it is not a "given" that our standards make sense to others, or that the way we do things is the right way! I mean WE have a dysfunctional society that can't even take care of it's own people. Despite those who would arrogantly claim claim that they and their political party has things well in hand. We are also living in a "FAILED STATE" Our currency is said to devalue 50% very shortly, our economy is going over the abyss, our government and politicians are not working for us, but a criminal element that runs our country....Who are we to call someone else's society as a failed society?

Life is about learning, and we have, as a nation, not been very good at learning, or accepting of someone who thinks differently than us.

I say...if the Iraqis want 150 days of national holidays, I say let them do what they want without criticizing them. They are a nation that has been blessed by mother earth with vast amounts of resources, and it's the Iraqis national treasure, let them enjoy the bounty of their land, and the benefits they bring. thanks Yota for the thread

Problem here in the US is the ones working for the man ( The government ) are the ones getting the days off and huge unfunded pensions.

Have you ever ran your own private play by the rules business Carlos? 50-60 hour weeks are the norm. Days off? Who runs the business when I'm gone?

Sometimes I wish I worked for the man

ya good idea and if they want to riot and burn down the cities .. thats up to them too ..if they dont get free ,, health care .. free food , housing free clothes , free everything too and just lay around and whine and complain they want more ... and if someone does want to work .. they should tax him heavily .. why should he have all that money ,, just because he worked for it
