PM Maliki Given Two Weeks To Implement Erbil Agreement.

05/05/2012 10:28

BAGHDAD, May 5 (AKnews) – Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has been given only two weeks to implement the demands raised in the meeting of five Iraqi and Kurdistan leaders in Erbil on Saturday.

A week ago Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani and his Iraqi counterpart Jalal Talabani met with Iraqiya List leaders Ayad Allawi and Osama al-Nujaifi as well as Sadrist Movement leader Muqtada Sadr in Erbil.

The leaders discussed the challenges the country is facing and agreed on their demands in a letter which was handed yesterday to Ibrahim Jaafari, the head of the largest bloc, the National Alliance (NA).

The letter Maliki received from Jaafari does not express Sadr’s view but expresses the decisions of the Erbil meeting, said Sadrist MP Amir Kinani.

lol. he has had these warnings many times before.

He's out ithis time. Iraqis are sick & tired of him serving Iran's interests.

Pressure from the USA, China,Kuwait, IMF, WTO & the UN are breathing down his neck.

He'll do it or we will do it for him.

Deadlines seem to mean absolutely nothing to Maliki. Hopefully, this time, when he ignores or makes excuses or sets his own time line off in the future for some reason, the government might find the nads to do something constructive, like booting his sorry butt out and putting someone else in who will get things done.

giving Maliki a 2 weeks ultimatum is like telling your kids to do something or you will count to 10!

This time is different. He's gone if he don't follow on what he agreed in principe to do.

The Iranians & Al Sadr have been holding Maliki back stalling for more time. The pressure is on Iran as well.

I believe Iran is going to have "M" hold off as long as it possibly can. Every day the RV is delayed, Iran siphons off more US $$ through Iraq. The longer they hold off theRV, the more money Iran can take in and better their dying economy. I also believe when things get really nasty, Iran will throw "M" to the wolves after they have taken him for all they can get. JMO

Excuse me, but nowhere in that article of the original post does it say anything about the Dinar. You sir/ma'am are grasping for straws trying to do what Okie and the rest of those clowns do. Yes it is in the rumor section, but to state that "We are goal to go at the 1yd line"??? They have much further to go than that my friend. Iran may have influence over Maliki, but control Iraq? That would be assuming too much, as the US would not allow that by any means.
