[Adam Montana] I received a phone call at 6:30 AM from one of our VIP partners, requesting an immediate meeting

[Adam Montana] that could last from "2-6" hours

[Adam Montana] (I know this is important, but come on guys! You have to be able to narrow it down a little better than that, right? Right? Oy... fine. I'm going.)

[Adam Montana] so with that said, no time for the normal Q&A

[Adam Montana] but I wanted to give you all a little "heads up" on an opinion I received from one of the people I speak to frequently in Iraq

[Adam Montana] (not naming names, it's not important, but I trust this person, value their opinion, and it's someone that frequently sits in on meetings with big Cheeses)

[Adam Montana] Several years ago there was a big push to get a MASSIVE amount of new ATM (cash) machines into Iraq

[Adam Montana] The push was fairly successful, and a lot of people saw it as a signal that the RV was coming soon

[Adam Montana] well, obviously it didn't happen

[Adam Montana] but the event is still significant because if they are to introduce lower denominations

[Adam Montana] and keep the value on the higher denominations

[Adam Montana] (which is what would happen in a 1:1 RV)

[Adam Montana] then they need a fast way for all Iraqi's to get lower denoms, or access to their new cash

[Adam Montana] obviously they won't take 100k to the bank and walk out with 100k in small notes, just like we won't do that here

[Adam Montana] they will take 100k to the bank, deposit it, and have digital credit just like we will

[Adam Montana] with the addition of the cash machines throughout the country, those "Automatic Tellers" take a large burden off of the labor force employed by the banks

[Adam Montana] let's face it, when the value goes up those banks are going to STRUGGLE to keep up with the demand

[Adam Montana] one of the strategies that has been hinted to me for a long time is a "Deposit ONLY" situation for the first few weeks

[Adam Montana] this means that when people are lined up at the banks to do a transaction (CASH IN), the tellers will simplify it by saying "sorry, deposit only"

[Adam Montana] they take the cash, credit the account, and then it's "NEXT!"

[Adam Montana] ok, but people are going to want access to their cash, right? That's where the ATM's come in

[Adam Montana] the problem has been that Iraq simply hasn't had the technological infrastructure to handle a massive "change" in currency, much less a significant increase in value

[Adam Montana] that has been changing very steadily

[Adam Montana] one major event coming up is the March 5-7 Arab Summit

[Adam Montana] guess what they are talking about there?

[Adam Montana] technology and one of the specific topics is financial technology

[Adam Montana] and a huge key to this operation is not only the technology

[Adam Montana] but the education

[Adam Montana] they have to introduce the technology to the people, EDUCATE the people, and also have a stable government and economy

[Adam Montana] the government is stable

[Adam Montana] the economy is stable

[Adam Montana] adding value to the currency would create jobs, lowering unemployment, and bring AMAZING opportunity to Iraq

[Adam Montana] so, what does this all mean? It's not a date, or a rate... but I believe we are on the crux of a major event.

[Adam Montana] and the people I'm working with agree, which is why I have to run off to an emergency meeting

Thanks for the update Adam, I hope that when they get the ATM machines the people don't think it's a soda machine.

So how do you like that ? ATMs to bring the new denoms to the people, this could've been one of the reasons that we haven't seen the rv yet, jmo.

thanks for the update! since the Arab summit is "scheduled" to be held the first week of March, in your opinion, do you feel anything significant will occur before then? or not until after the educating of the masses?

I thought the summit was at the END of March.........

What he's talking about is I believe a financial convention not the Arab Summit. I read an article the other day about it. Sorry no links. I'm not that sophisticated, and don't remember the title either.

Oh and the their going to talk about all things banking and how to educate the masses as well. So these articles coming out are not an education campaign like people would have you think. I'm sure the article is still in our news forum here.

the arab summit is march27-29th but he might be talking about the national conference which as of yet has not been given a date those are two separate meetings

Technology implementations can take years. I hope the talk on March 5 is specific to EDUCATION and Go Live! If it's about system design, we have a long way to go...

Maybe it's just me, but I found the most interesting thing in the chat was the Arab Summit date. March 5-7...? That sure beats the "last of March" date we'd previously thought it would happen. The ATM info sounds like the RV may still be a ways off in order to get them installed and working, etc. I hope you can come back after your meeting and share your thoughts with us. Thanks for all you do, Adam!!! You're the man!
