Ever since the ousting of Sadam and even before there has been talk of dividing Iraq into nations states - one for the Kurds, one for the Sunnis and the last for Shiites. This has been going on for awhile. Remember the Kurds want their own nation but Turkey, Iran and Iraq refuse to give them the land they claim is theirs. It was one of the reasons Sadam gassed the Kurds. The talk of dividing up the nation is cyclical meaning it pops up every now and then. The USA even proposed a plan to divide the nation after the war. The dispute always falls on the historical boundaries and oil.

If we exterminated every last person who holds their beliefs, the books still exist. The beliefs would then get spread around again and the groups would start small and then branch out.
