  1. You are correct, sir. But then again, the same applies for liberals and Bush. It's the same song whether it's a republican or democrat as president. Republicans and democrats both suck . . . which is precisely why I don't vote for either.
  2. Really? I thought the thread was about two groups of people beating the same dead horse and bickering over the same thing with the same people for Lord knows how long. One group believes the RV won't happen (most don't even own dinar), yet stay on the board following everything the dinar does and arguing with people that have differing opinions. Why? They seem to have the "Great White Knight" syndrome . . .but most likely are just trolls (why else would anyone spend so much time on something they have no vested interest in nor believes in). The other group for whatever reason continues to argue and be baited by the first group for whatever reason. Maybe they like arguing, maybe they're easily trolled, Idk. As Spock would say, "It is illogical, Captain."
  3. Always my friend. The ISX is the place to be. Bonus shares, paid-up shares, dividends, international companies going into Iraq, ISX starting to open up internationally, etc. Exciting to say the least. I can understand being skeptical, but at some point people just become haters. That's great. I'm always happy when I hear someone is doing well with their investments. Still, the ISX has more potential the the US markets, which are dependent on what the feds do with QE. The ISX is going to blow up regardless if the dinar RV's or lops. So not sure why you even bring up the strawman of an RV and the ISX.
  4. And yet, somehow, I and others have made overall gains this past year. About taking money out, only people who have had problems are those with Warka ISX. Concerning my broker, others have had no problems. Of course this doesn't negate the fact that we might in the future simply because we never know who we are dealing with. I mean, look at all the financial scams committed by US brokers . . . .
  5. Ding, Ding, ding!!! Exactly!!! Same folks, same old arguments, etc. while we sit pretty on the ISX. This is something I don't understand about the die-hard lopsters, why waste their time argument over semantics and lop/RV instead of getting into the ISX while they can? Regardless if the dinar lops or rv's, we still win!
  6. Actually, you're quite wrong. I can't stand either neo-cons nor neo-liberals. Unfortunately, both types crowd these boards. Neo-liberals are wrong because all they want to do is give, give, give . . . typically by taken someone else's money and not using their own. They have no "faith", but they do have "works" in the sense they they do want to help people, albeit the wrong way by creating slothfulness and dependency (and when it comes to use their own wallets, they balk.), i.e. simply giving away without restriction. This is not love as the man becomes dependent and lazy rather than being taught "how to fish" for himself. Neo-cons are wrong because they have a mentality that everyone is lazy and just looking for handouts, thus they don't want to give in anyway or give just the bare minimum in order to save face and look good. Because of this mentality, they push whats seems to be a careless and self-righteous attitude. They offer to "teach a man to fish", but neglect his immediate need to eat in order to survive long enough to learn how to fish for himself. This is what God meant by "faith without works is dead." There is nothing political about it in any sense. Just plain old scripture. And yes, this scripture describes how to know someone is saved, but read the rest of the passage: 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. If you refuse to feed (love) while teaching them to fish (truth/love), then you faith is dead. So, you do both! In other words, both the neo-con and the neo-lib mentality are wrong.
  7. Considering Vietnams horrible economy and the value of the dong has actually fallen since the hype around it started, I highly doubt anything will ever come of it. If there were ever a country that needed to lop, it's vietnam.
  8. Yup. Al-Jazera sent me the new information. We tried this morning to wire money using all three intermediary banks Al-Jazera gave me, but my bank (Sun Trust) uses HSBC as an intermediary, which apparently do not wire to Iraq. You would think they would know this, especially since the nice staff member helping me this morning called the office in charge of international wire transfers. After 2 hrs, they finally told me they had a policy to not wire to Iraq with no option to use a different intermediary like Jordan, Germany, etc. I did get my wire fees refunded, which was awesome. But, I'll simply go back to using Chase bank instead of Sun Trust. Oh, I know! I get a chuckle out of it.
  9. Ugh, I've never had a problem sending wires with Chase bank, but I recently tried sending a wire through another bank, Sun Trust (Florida bank), thinking everything would be ok. The staff I worked with had absolutely no idea what she was doing and had to be watch by another staff member as she inputted the information. I was worried, but figured it would be ok, so I didn't think about checking my bank account (big mistake). I simply informed Al-Jazeera to expect a wire and sent them my wire receipt. This was 12/30. Today, I received an update from Al-Jazeera that they still had not received my wire. I checked my account and sure enough, the very next day on 12/31, I had a credit for an incoming wire transfer for the same amount as I wired out, minus fees. I HIGHLY doubt Al-Jazeera sent me incorrect wire information, so I can only assume that the staff member who did my wire made a mistake and either wired the money out and back into my account or made a type and it was returned. I'll find out tomorrow. Frustrating to say the least and as of now I'm out $85 in fees, which I assume should be returned should it be a mistake on their part. Absolutely frustrating. I can now empathize with aitshioud.
  10. Hey moneysoon, Like Trinity said, our broker lists them periodically, but removes the notices from time to time to make room for new notices. That is probably why there isn't anything on BBOB. It was there several weeks ago, I believe. The best way to know about upcoming AGMs and what they're offering is through Iraq-businessnews.com under the investment tab. They post the AGM news from the Rabee securities website, so just do a search for the stock code and it'll bring up all the historical AGMs for that company. You could also go tot he Rabee website and get very detailed information about each company's quarterly profits and such. http://www.iraq-businessnews.com/category/investment/ Good to know. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Sometimes it takes so long to receive our shares I wonder if I forgot to let our broker know!
  11. Why can't some of the liberals and conservatives on this site not act like adults and discuss things in a constructive, non-hostile manner? Some post things to simply provoke others and some just shoot immediately from the hip. It gets old.
  12. There's an easier way, but it takes self-control: Simply stop reading his posts . . . . Interesting article. It's no secret that BOTH the republicans and democrats flip-flop on issues more than Romney on speed. They both historically have opposed or accepted an idea when it benefited them. Both are useless and both will continue to stay in power because many people who claim to care really seem to only care about getting their party name elected, not the issues (both liberals and conservatives). On another note, could people please grow up and discuss the article rather than attack the messenger and vice versa (as the article's author resorts to fallacious reasoning and ad-hominems).
  13. Awesome find! Lord willing, I can't wait to see what beings to happen around the send quarter 2014. Then we can have a clearer view of how the last two quarters will bring. Definitely, the time to buy.
  14. Thanks for the good thoughts. I assume for the two primcary sectors, youi are talking about banking and industry? I'm with you that 2014 holds a lot of promise for the ISX: Nasdaq OMX launch, ESX launch mid 2014, Zain listing, which all would attract foreign investors (the big bucks). I'm exicted.
  15. What's so special about National Bank of Iraq (BNOI)? It's been known for over a year now that all banks had to meet the 250 billion IQD requirement. All that's happening now is BNOI and other banks who haven't met the requirement rushing to raise capital by issuing free shares and discounted shares to eligable share holders. This has nothing to do with an RV.
  16. Asiacell posts IQD1.696 trn revenue in nine months Asiacell Communications “Asiacell” announced its financial and operational results for the 9 months ending 30 September 2013. These financials reflected revenue of IQD1.696 tn, compared to IQD1.564tn for 9M 2012, a strong growth of 8.4%. This increase was mainly driven by successful product and service launches. Net profit recorded IQD471.8bn to level with that of 9M 2012. Total customer base increased to 10.6mn by end of 9M 2013 compared to 9.8mn for 9M 2012, marking a healthy increase of 8.2%, according to the company’s press release. He was subsequently appointed as Chief Operating Advisor of wi-tribe Philippines in August 2011 before being named in February 2013 as Managing Director of Asiacell Iraq, according to Mubasher. http://english.mubasher.info/ISX/news/2429732/Asiacell-posts-IQD1-696-trn-revenue-in-nine-months -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great news. Looking forward to another nice dividend. Hopefully the share price will increase now. It's dropped quite a bit recently.
  17. Same here. None of my friends nor family took me serious, so I've stopped trying. Although my father in law holds a lot of dinar and is thinking about unloading his physical dinar and get into the ISX. I leave Japan for good next week (I'm very sad ...) but, I'm excited because I can hopefully talk my father in law to get into the ISX. If anyone deserves good fortune, it's him! He's done more for the Kingdom of God than anyone I know. He's also not just my father in law, he's also my pastor!
  18. Im more offended that people still find the Simpsons humorous. That show has blown for the last decade + a few years.
