  1. "All the things we're missin', good vittles', lovin' and kissin', are waiting at the end of this ride!" Go Rawhide, go RV!
  2. Thanx, Yota. TNCherokee, I had a lot of amazing hikes and sweatlodges in your area back in the '90s while living in Knoxville/Seymour. i think you're correct about Maliki,
  3. Thanx, Yota! C U in Santorini, Gypsygirl, after a "preliminary vacation" in Costa Rica! As Mick and the Stones once sang, "TIME is on (our) side. Yes, it is!"
  4. Being a political science major in college (readCommunism, Fascism and Democracy-it's very informative re: political theory and application), I've found it amazing over my 61 yrs., that the average person does NOT understand what socialism really is (and you don't have to be a Fox Noise or ****** Limbaugh devotee'). While it's true that communism (which has never REALLY existed- the USSR, for example, was a fascist and military industrial complex) is ONE form of socialism, it is NOT, by any means the ONLY form of socialism. Democratic socialism, like the more saner societies of Northern Europe enjoy, is simply when the gov't oversees and regulates corporations and capitalism so that tragedies like the 2008 Wall St collapse and the recent Flint, MI water/environmental crisis do not occur. A simple analogy is : All communism is socialism, but all socialism is NOT communism. In the same vein: All apple trees are trees, BUT all trees are NOT apple trees. So if you're over 65 and still are sure about Bernie's or Norway's version of socialism, feel free to surrender your medicare, and tell your congressmen not to support the world's biggest socialized program sponsored by the U.S. taxpayer (I'm preparing for the "boos", friends), the U.S. military! Peace to All
  5. Saw TheThin White Duke sing this one in Memphis in 1978.GREAT SONG! Just think, Umbertino, after the RV, we all will be a new kind of Hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Thanx, Umbertino! It was so great being in the throes of puberty when this album cover came out! LOL My father had a copy. My only complaint was that she "wasted" WAY too much whipped cream. A couple of cups would have been enough! Well, actually, a couple of teaspoons would have sufficed!
  7. Having attended grad school less than 25 miles from the birthplace of the KKK (Smyna, TN), and living 41 yrs. in the South, racism, is , unfortunately, alive and disgustingly well Obama's elections were like turning on the lights at midnight in your kitchen, and seeing those racist "cockroaches" running from the LIGHT. They were always there, just hiding in the "cracks of bigotry and racism". It's obvious that DENYING that racism does NOT exist in the U.S. is yet just another form of RACISM! Thanx, Umbertino! The TRUTH will (eventually) set all free, even the angry, FEARFUL, gun-toting ignorant ones.
  8. Both you,Umbertino, and Blue Oyster Cult ROCK!!! Saw thse dudes thrice in the early '70s! Danke.
  9. As a political science major in college in the '70's, my main professor assigned a little book entitled, Report from Iron Mountain on the Possibility and Desirabity of Peace. It addressed this very concept that many of the world economies are based on war. We also have to remember Ike Eisenhower's famous remark as he handed over the keys of the White house to JFK, "I hope that we will not become a MILITARY INDUSTRIALIZED COMPLEX.' Sadly, a he was most prophetic. Thank God for this new pope, and anyone who TRULY follows the teachings of another great leader who said (way up on that mountaintop), "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God".
  10. Run, Bernie,Run! You've got a tidal wave of momentum building that'll crash this country's shores and inundate the heartland!
  11. Wait, everyone knows it's Nixon's fault! But you have to remember Hoover and McKinley plotted all this decades ago. Or maybe it's REALLY the Easter Bunny's fault. You can't trust those rabbits! But, seriously, having watched Mississippi Burning with Santa Fe's own, Gene Hackman, recently, the perverted attitudes and heinous acts of racism brought back tragic memories from my youth (only 70 mi. away). I thank God ever day that my parents were NOT in any way the typical white racists from the South. Hopefully, we ALL can evolve and live in true peace as Jesus and so many other great leaders like MLK espoused! Shalom!
  12. BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Murder is still a crime in the U.S.! Go Barry! Get the ANGRY bad apples out of the police system!
  13. What a classic album! Umbertino, i think yuou must have changed your name since we went to college in TN in the '70's! LOL
  14. Good article, Umbertino! Danke! Another piece in the global economic puzzle.
  15. I defy any of these "christians" to find a SINGLE anti-*** word that Jeshua bin Joseph said in the Bible. He did say,"Oh, you hypocrites." The homophobic mind is just another EGO (edging God out) driven illusion based on FEAR-based judgement. Being heterosexual, it's easy to see that many "fine christians" had best be investing time in their own marriage and personal relationships. As the country people in TN would say, "You got enough work tending your own garden. Don't go messin' in your neighbor's". We certainly don't need another Rambo-fueled theocracy in the world!!! Look at Iran and al. Blessed are the peacemakers!!! And love to ALL sentient beings!
  16. Thanx for the great dietary info. My Honey and I are big quinoa fans since it has the most complete protein of ANY protein source! I still have to have a good ham sandwich sometimes though! LOL
  17. Thanx, Moose. A great reminder to always engage in kindness!
  18. Thanx, Puckster! That reminds me of a story I read the other day about when Jimi Hendrix was interviewing for his first job with a band. The lead vovalist looked at Jimi's resume' and said,"'That's a very impressive resume' Mr. Hendrix, but ARE YOU EXERIENCED?" LOL
  19. Always loved Frank! Saw him in '74 in Knoxville.Thanx, Umbertino!
  20. Well, the Dems could recruit the woman with a double-digit IQ by the name of Palin. But, no, that wouldn't work because she'd probably resign halfway into her term (like in Alaska) to write a book on bear hunting or snowmobiling. LOL
  21. Thanx, Umbertino! Always loved Tull, epecially back in my college daZe. It's interesting to hear Ian playing New Age flute music on the Sirius Spa Station nowadaZe..
  22. I'm trying, I'm trying--to lively up myself, that is. I do know that a certain forthcoming text will DEFINITELY do the trick! LOL In the meantime, I've got to continue meeting regularly with Ron Barcardi, or... Anyway, muchas gracias, Umbertino, for Brother Bob's inspiration! Blessings to all Rasta people and all of God's other children
